I am very grateful to Doc Levi for sharing this video to me. It has been a while since I have conducted a quantitative research and have this confusion about the differences between descriptive and inferential statistics. This video is a great help for me to ascertain the direction I need in conducting another quantitative research. Inferential statistics based on the video is going beyond describing information gathered from samples or population to the point of looking for information to make inferences, judgements, decisions or draw conclusions or from sample or population. The difference between quantitative and qualitative variables lies on whether the study should use value or numerical measurement or category or group to describe individual. The importance of knowing the different levels of measurement from nominal to ratio level helps you organize and arrange your data values from simple to complex level of measuring data. Knowing the appropriate random sampling techniques in selecting your research sample will ensure that equal chances are given to population to be selected in a sample size. The guidelines for planning a statistical study will surely set you to a right track in conducting research. One important thing also that researchers need to pay attention is the cautions about data being discussed in this video, which will safeguard us from committing mistakes or errors in our research endeavors. Thanks, Doc Levi, for this very informational and motivational video for us researchers.

Thank you, Doc Levz for this comprehensive presentation of Inferential Statistics. I must say that research and statistics are always go hand in hand. We use statistics to gather, organize, analyze and interpret numerical data to make sound decisons in life. Through statistical methods, we can gather information from small group of people or objects to make inferences about a larger population. As mentioned in this presentation, inferential statistics involves methods of using information from a sample to draw conclusions about a population. Here, I realized that getting a right measurement is essential and using a right method is highly significant. In addition, sampling method should always be observed to avoid nonsampling error and placebo effect. Therefore, planning a statistical study should always be in mind of every researcher.

Thank you so much Doc Barazon for this very informative and comprehensive discussion on the Introduction to Basic Inferential Statistics. I highly agree that statistics helps us make decisions when we are faced with uncertainties. It is through statistics that we make good and wise decisions. What's interesting here is that, in statistics, with little sample of what you want to know more about, you'll be able to make inferences out from the general population. The beauty of statistics tell us information about the general population through a little sample. You make insights about the greater population.
Through the video, we were reviewed with the concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics wherein descriptive statistics involves collecting, organizing, summarizing and presenting data while inferential statistics includes making inferences, hypothesis testing, determining relationships and making predictions which is the most powerful part, through the little data that you have.
Furthermore, inferential statistics is really important most specially in quantitative researches. Inferential statistics involves methods of using information from a sample to draw conclusions regarding the general population. Out from the little information you have, you are going beyond just describing the information as you are making judgments and wise decisions based from what you see. Statistics can absolutely be made to prove anything - even the truth.
I believe that my knowledge on this very essential topic will be very useful as I explore myself to the world of quantitative researches. Thank you so much Doc, more power and God Bless!

First of all, thank you for the deliberate and profound explanation of the basics and statistics Dr. Lev. Here are some of the significant learnings I grasped from the video.
First, it all the terms are very important to start statistics or even deciding on how to collect the data on a certain problem or context. Understanding all these terms, characteristics and examples provides us the viewers a concrete understanding on how the process of data collection be appropriately done in order to arrive at a wise, accurate and effective conclusions.
Second, in order to get accurate responses and to avoid errors, sampling should be done carefully and appropriately. Needless to say, it must be objective, not subjective. It is also to add validity on the results.
Third, statistics as categorized as inferential and descriptive, it is essential that as a research, one must know when and how it should be utilized. It is the meat of the statistical process. In order that good interpretations and also to achieve the objective of the study. Then everything will follow.
Generally, as researcher one must therefore know the nature of his study. It is also brilliant to ask experts to increase credibility of the process.
See you on your next video! Thank you Dr. Lev.

I really like this discussion because it is very beneficial in deepening my understanding of the concepts of inferential statistics and how it is conducted. Thank you so much for this, Doc Levi! I have learned these important key points.
First, statistics is the process of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and, interpreting numerical information. It is very important in decision-making based on scientific data. It is noted that it is a way of how to prove things and reality. Tools are used to investigate and examine the samples to infer or draw conclusions for the entire population.
Second, inferential statistics is more sophisticated than descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics deal only with the organization, summarizing and interpreting results through graphs and tables to know and describe the collected data from samples. It is just merely telling what characteristics or variables are discovered from the sample data. Whereas, inferential statistics go beyond the results from the sample data, providing inferences and assumptions to the whole population through testing hypotheses and determining relationships within and among variables.
Third, inferential statistics involve measurements of any of the four levels: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. The simplest level of measurement is the nominal and the most complex is the ratio level. Nominal measurement is just putting values in categories by arranging them from smallest to largest. Ordinal measurement is arranging data values from highest to lowest or vice versa regardless of the intervals to compare data values. Interval measurement is arranging values through categories in definite intervals. Ratio level is the combination of the three other levels of measurement, giving a ratio to a data value compared to the set of values.
Lastly, since inferential statistics is considered a process, it has to be done through crucial and systematic steps which begin with identifying the population of interest to be investigated or studied. Next, hypotheses are formulated to be answered by the research. Then, getting the sample population could be simple random sampling, stratified, cluster, multistage, or convenience sampling. Random sampling techniques, allow every individual an equal chance to represent the population and avoid bias. This step is followed by testing hypotheses and perform statistical treatments to analyze quantitative or numerical data. Results are then interpreted and conclusions are drawn by giving inferences and assumptions from the relationships of variables discovered in the sample data to the entire population.
It is very important in conducting inferential statistics, one should be objective and empirical. Objectivity should be exhibited that during data collection, like in surveys or experimental designs, the variables are not intentionally manipulated to get the positive results that are expected. Responses are not influenced by the researcher conducting the study. Empirical results should be obtained from the actual scientific procedures conducted in the study.

I appreciate you giving us this video as a fantastic chance to learn, Doc Levz! I absolutely adored this piece! Learning these statistical principles is much easier than reading a book since the knowledge is presented in a simpler manner. This has also helped me relearn and deeply understand the differences between descriptive and inferential statistics and their unique notions as a research student.
From the start, I learned that statistics is a very important concept in order for us to make sound decisions. Data coming from the interpretations of numerical information using Statistics provides an opportunity for us to look for possible consequences of our choices. I also like how you have provided adequate examples for the quantitative and qualitative variables, which is something I find to be absolutely necessary when it comes to research.
The detailed discussion on the dissimilitude of the levels of measurement is provided comprehensively that I was able to differentiate between these measurements. On the other hand, sampling techniques were expounded and I liked the idea of highlighting the do's and don'ts in using these techniques as well as the cautions when dealing with respondents and data.
As a whole, this video is a very good start to discover statistics because it provides an overview of the subject. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and I hope to get to view more of your videos. God bless you, Doc Levz!

I find this video relevant to my present study. It gives me guidance on how to gather the data I will need for my proposed study. The part of the video that catches my attention is the part on "Guidelines for Planning a Statistical Study". In which it reminds me to identify the object of my study, specify the variables of the study, determine the protocols in conducting the study, select the appropriate sample technique, and address issues on research ethics, confidentiality and privacy. After doing such procedure, you can now gather the data you need for your research study. Moreover, as a researcher we need to identify the type of data we will gather so that we can use the appropriate test statistics and arrive with the correct decisions and inferences. Never forget also to highlight recommendation for the improvement of the present study. If we are using the appropriate statistics to a certain data and following the correct procedure in gathering data, surely we can prove anything-even the truth.

Good day, Doc Levi! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on basic inferential statistics. This video has provided me insights about the basics of inferential statistics and its application in real-life situation.
Firstly, it's important to embrace statistics because it helps us formulate wise decision. With the data on hand, a scientific decision can be made. With the appropriate statistical methods, information from data can be obtained and that, inferences can be made.
Secondly, the presentation reminded me of the levels of measurement like nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio. This is not my first time to encounter these terms but since I am not conscious that I am using them everyday, I forgot their importance. I have realized that the knowledge on these terms is very important especially when we are having research. These are basics and essential.
Thirdly, I am awed by how data through numbers can explain the phenomena, situation or problem. Through numbers, a problem can be given an answer, explanation and interpretation. I am amazed by how statistics works like by just computing such, a result can be given immediately through statistical software and olah, you have an answer to your question. By simply having mean and standard deviation, a phenomena can be explained.
Conclusively, the collection, organization, computation and interpretation of data is important. It is in this case that wise decision can be made especially in this world that is uncertain.

Thank you, Doc Levz, for this comprehensive presentation of Inferential Statistics. The presentation covers not only the important aspects of the study of data collection, data organization, data analysis and presentation of results but also issues to look into such as consideration for the privacy and confidentiality of data, proper and correct use of terminologies and the accuracy of data collected.
Statistics, whether we like it or not, is part and parcel of our daily life. If used correctly, statistics can assist us in making decisions and predictions based on data. It guides us in identifying the proper methods in collecting and analyzing data and present the results effectively whether descriptive or inferential.
Knowledge of statistics is important especially in determining whether the information presented to us is accurate or not. Take for example the results of surveys that are released during political campaign periods. We are encouraged to go beyond the results presented. It is imperative that we look at the method on how the survey or the study was conducted to be able to decide whether to accept the results or not. Knowing the role that statistics play in a research project or a survey as well as the processes involved is crucial in making well-informed and well-discerned decision. Our knowledge of statistics will impel us to ask questions and encourage us to do further research into an issue or concern raised.

Statistics plays an important role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting the data we gathered from our studies to draw significant conclusions. Second, I knew the difference between descriptive and inferential statistics and when to use them. Third, the levels of measurement were made clear to me because the examples given were very relevant and understandable. Fourth, I learned how to use the different sampling techniques that were very helpful in conducting studies. Lastly, I familiarized many terms in statistics because it was crucial to use the proper terms to prevent ambiguity. To conclude, learning statistics is learning how to effectively conduct research to concisely describe and interpret data to find solutions to existing issues or problems in our society. Thank you so much, Sir, for sharing this informative video with us and explaining the topics well. Hi doc Levi. Thank you for this video. This made me a realization that statistics is an important piece to help you out making the right decisions based on the data gathered given that you have a limited time. For descriptive statistics, we draw insights based on the data being collected and organised. For inferencial inferencial statistics, the researchers go beyond description in such that he/she can draw conclusions out of the bits of information gathered. Thank you also for this video explaining the differences of those research basic terminologies with regards to their functions. To measure the data properly, as a researcher, we need to apply the proper sampling and consider sampling error by avoiding bias to the members of the population. Moreover, we need to follow ethical standards not only in the process on collection but to the whole durationof the study. Thusly, this videe serves as a guide in conducting quantitative research.

Just wanted to express my deep gratitude for the dedicated work that you do. I appreciate the comprehensive presentation of the fundamentals of inferential statistics. From personal experience, as a a research instructor and a PhD student, learning inference is vital in my field/discipline. I love how you made this learning opportunity as easy as 123. I realized that the process of extrapolating from an observable data set or sample to a real underlying distribution that is unobserved, partially observed, or indirectly observed, to other data sets, and/or to the full population is known as statistical inference. Moreover, I've also learned that it has three main uses:
Descriptive, which only state, summarize, or describe something regarding the data Non-inferential. can be presented graphically or numerically. The mean, mode, and median are often used measurements of central tendency.
Test or decision, includes their use for hypothesis testing. Common decision statistic methods include z- and t-tests, ANOVA, and Chi-square tests.
Estimation or modeling is the process of using a statistic to make predictions about a population parameter or an other statistic that is not part of the current data set. Regression comes in many forms, which are common modeling techniques.
Additionally, I appreciate how you gave enough examples for both the quantitative and qualitative variables, which is something I believe is crucial for any research study. Generally, the video is a great start for novice and experts alike. Thank you again for providing this video, which will help us review what statistics are and how they will influence our future research endeavors. More power and God bless!

This is quite informative, Doc Levz. There were so many substantial learning takeways from this video. I learned in inferential statistics, which are based on probabilities and frequencies, are valuable tools for forming conclusions. As a result, learning about inferential statistics may help you develop as a researcher, forecaster, and decision maker. Possible explanations for an observed phenomena may be deduced with the use of inferential statistics. In contrast to descriptive statistics, which just give a summary of the observed data, inferential statistics allow you to draw conclusions from the data. Inferential statistics aims to extrapolate results to the whole population by studying data from a representative sample. With the use of inferential statistics, you may test a hypothesis or check whether your data can be extrapolated to the whole population. Thank you Doc Levz! I appreciate this.

Statistics indeed is integral in making sound decisions and at the same time affects the way we examine and analyze relevant data that does not only affect us but others as well. Statistical methods allows us to look more deeper on informations and what it means and how it affects our way of thinking and again on how we come up with good judgement and decisions. Two types of statistics further allow me to know more about Inferential statistics since it goes intense in helping us to come up with judgements and predictions. The terminologies discussed allowed me to understand more about these terms and it's differences and purpose. The process or steps how to conduct a statistical study it is very essential to be aware and follow the appropriate guidelines and conscious of the ethical considerations likewise know what suitable sampling method to use. Thank you Dr. Barazon for this very informative video! The topics pesented from the video clarified me about Statistics and understand more the difference between descriptive and inferential in their characteristics. In some cases, statistics are less obvious but it still with us, like what is the correlation of the dog and his owner's emotions or how researchers study a medicine and it's effectivity about hair growth. descriptive statistics is about collecting, organizing, summarizing and presenting data. On the other hand, inferential statistics allows us to make conclusions that extend beyond the data that we have in hand, it do all sorts of much more complicated work for us. It lets us test an idea or hypothesis, in other words, we don't follow our guts to decide but we need to use reliable tools and data to come up with better decisions. Understanding statistics make us give good questions about other people's researches and their discoveries.

Thank you doc, for this significant discussion on inferential statistics. This made me look back on how I treated my data in my past researches. I have been implying descriptive statistics in my studies but didn’t know that I could still use the data in a different manner in order for me to come up with an in-depth understanding of the findings of my research. Inferential statistics gives us a different view of the information we gather and help us make better decisions. Inferential statistics gives us a wiser view of the solutions we came up with on the problem we wanted to address in the study.

    Good day Doc.
Another Informative video from Doc. Levs.
It is indeed important for a researcher to have a piece of knowledge on how to treat data
utilizing statistics. The use of inferential statistics is efficient. It helps the researcher get as many insights as possible from the data and provides detailed guidance than frequencies, means, other measures of central tendency, and descriptive statistics. Without statistics, we cannot accurately make proper judgments, more so it is difficult to make conclusions based on the data or information at hand. Through statistics, quantitative researchers were given justice through treating the data with the correct statistical measures for accurate interpretation and analysis of results. Thus, queries and misconceptions of things will be given answers or solutions because of statistics.

    INSIGHTS GAINED FROM THIS VIDEO:
Thanks for this video Doc Lev, its a big help
Here's my take after watching your lecture:
Statistics is vital as education. Its roles are inseparable from man's craving for answers and solutions to simple to complex life variables. Statistics help educators, students, professionals, and paraprofessionals from different fields and those just living ordinary lives discover ideas and generate and regenerate knowledge to effect changes.
Statistics can be descriptive or inferential. One needs to be familiar with terms such as measurement, samplings, population, statistical tools and procedures, and the like. Statistics, like science, requires organized conduct. The one involved in statistics, whose tasks centered on collecting, organizing, and interpreting results empirically, must apply ethical measures in conducting the study. In research, not all desired areas to be explored can be explored. There are limitations on our right to discover and expose information.
Therefore, to be able to contribute to the body of knowledge- as one of the goals of using statistics, we need to be mentally ready, meaning we should have a broad background about what statistics is all about; physically ready- for research is not an easy task, its health-consuming.

The lecture gives clear points on how important descriptive and inferential statistics are in collecting and analyzing data in order to obtain valid and purposive data. The lecture somehow directed me to better understand basic terminologies in statistics and how each one differ from the others. I had a number of realization and I even had unlearning and relearning on the measurements and the random techniques. I personally love the giving of examples which concretize the salient points. It helped me a lot in understanding the mechanics and most of all the points highlighted. It was great! 1. The way how it is being discussed was very organized. The meaning and purpose of Statistics was elaborately discussed. If the way how this lesson is introduce to our students, I think that they will easily grasp the concept.
    2. The methods of Statistics (Inferential and Descriptive Statistics) were differentiated in a simple way yet bolstered with substance.
    3. The common reason why some subject matter is not understood well and treated as a hard subject because the terminologies were not discussed at the onset of the discussion of the topic. In this video, the terms were explicitly discussed such as the quantitative and qualitative variables and etc.
    4. The levels of measurements were introduced in a simple way. It was easy to understand.
    5. I like the way how the step by step procedure of gathering sample was enumerated. It was easy to follow. This video is a very helpful tool to be utilized in tutoring students having difficulties understanding the concept - Statistics.

The first impression of the topic of Statistics is challenging; however, upon listening to this video which discusses comprehensive but straightforward, it is easy to understand and comprehend. Statistics can be applied in our lives by making important decisions, especially when facing uncertain choices through analyzing the information and situations.
Watching this video is a great help, especially for a person with little background in Statistics. Introducing and defining the terms is a great help in understanding the concepts of Statistics. Statistics can be done by two methods such as descriptive (collecting, organizing, summarizing, and presenting data) or inferential (making inferences, hypothesis testing, determining relationships, and making predictions). The object of interest, study variables, representation of the entire population/ sample, data collection plan, and appropriate statistical methods are essential in determining what kind of statistical analysis can be utilized.
Thank you, Dr. Levi for another helpful video in our academics and research endeavor.

After watching the video, I learned that
    1. Statistics comprises two significant branches of data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics focus on providing descriptions in a very accurate manner about a particular data set. Inferential statistics, however, aims to generalize a larger set of data based on the information gained from a smaller set of data.
    2. Variables can be categorized as qualitative (non-numeric) or quantitative (numeric). Furthermore, it can be classified according to the level of measurement, which is in hierarchical order, nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.
    3. The main difference between interval and ratio levels is that ratio levels have an absolute zero point, while interval levels do not have an absolute zero point where an absolute zero point indicates a total absence of the variable being measured.
    4. Random sampling techniques ensure that each person or item considered for the research has an equal opportunity to be chosen as part of the study group.
    5. The main difference between stratified and cluster sampling is that stratified sampling takes one or more samples from each stratum while cluster sampling chooses clusters at random, then takes all the samples from them.
    6. Potential sources of error exist in estimating the population parameters using a sample. Sampling errors arise because only a part of the population is used for estimation. Whatever our degree of cautiousness in selecting a sample, there will always be a difference between the true value and its corresponding estimate obtained from a sample. On the other hand, the errors mainly arising during data collection and processing are termed non-sampling errors.
    7. Determining the variable of interest in the study and classifying this variable is an essential step when planning a statistical study.
    8. Ethical considerations should be observed during data collection.
    9. It is crucial to know when to use descriptive statistics and inferential methods in conducting a study.
    10. Using appropriate data collection methods and statistical analysis will increase the validity of the study's findings.
Thank you for sharing your expertise on this matter.

Thank you Dr. Barazon for providing me a comprehensive explanation on statistics. Since then, I have always been afraid to conduct quantitative research due to my limited knowledge about the discipline. I always feel inferior because I can’t seem to organize statistical data which usually lead to my difficulty in its interpretation. As I finished watching the video, somehow, I feel relieved because there were doubts that are now certain to me, and some confusions on the concepts on statistics are now becoming clearer.
I appreciated the discussion on the different fundamental terms to be used in statistics. However, I am more satisfied on the explanation on the different levels of measurement. For some time now, I have been using SPSS and I did not quite understand why I need to change the value of the variables to ordinal scale. Now, I understand the difference of these concepts, and this will surely help me in my future use of the statistical software.
On the other hand, the video also showed not only the technical importance of statistics, but also its practical applications. Surely, statistics provides us with clear results of the data which will help us discern with our decisions in life. Further, during this data-driven world, it is necessary that we know the skill in data-driven analysis, which can only be fulfilled through our full understanding of statistics.
The video only presented an introductory discussion on the inferential statistics, nevertheless, I have already gained helpful insights and some realizations on my way to pursue some future quantitative studies which will surely involve both descriptive and inferential statistics.

What are your insights regarding our previous discussion regarding the basic concepts in Inferential Statistics.?
Statistics are everywhere, some are explicitly part of our lives. For instance, statistics make a good case for not buying a lottery ticket or what is the percentage of having a heart disease of people who are in their old age. In some cases, statistics are less obvious but it still with us, like what is the correlation of the dog and his owner's emotions or how researchers study a medicine and it's effectivity about hair growth. There are two types of tools in statistics--the descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics is what the data show, it includes things like where the middle of the data is. It is about collecting, organizing, summarizing and presenting data. Statistics help us to uncover the truth, and guide us to find simplicity inside complexity. It is about making sense of data and how to make it into use.

Thus, the application of statistics is evident in our everyday activities. We learned also the importance of quantitative and qualitative research, wherein the first is used to attain greater knowledge and understanding of the social world, to observe situations or events that affect people. It produces data that can be clearly communicated through statistics and numbers, while the latter it addresses the "how" and "why" research questions and enables deeper understanding of experiences, phenomena, and context. It allows us to ask questions that cannot be easily put into numbers to understand human experience. Therefore, the two must go together in our everyday life.

Insights and learnings from the video “Introduction to Basic Inferential Statistics”
Among other areas, statistics is the most commonly used research method in medicine, education, psychology, business, and economics (Rumsey, 2002). This branch of knowledge paves way for decision making among policy-makers, administrators, leaders, managers, and the like through the data captured and made available given the statistical methods and techniques. Inferential statistics are powerful tools for making inference that rely on frequencies and probabilities (Pfleger, 2020).
A few of the things I got from this video are the following:
    1. Careful sampling must be employed by the researcher as it might result to sampling and non-sampling errors.
    2. Planning stage for a researcher is crucial as this finalizes the research questions or hypotheses to be directional or non-directional.
    3. Interpreting results brought by the inferential statistics are the most important things. Data should not just be left as numbers from quantitative technique or statements from qualitative result, but they should be given implication especially to its context where appropriate. This is where research becomes meaningful and impactful.

My insights and learnings are the following:
1.Statistics is fundamental and essential in conducting quantitative research because it helps to collect, organize, analyze and interpret numerical information from the data gathered, This aids in the decision-making by examining the information obtained from the data.
2.Statistics has two methods, namely: Descriptive and Inferential. In applying statistics, one must understand both the suitability of the method and the meaning of the result which means if we need to organize, picture and summarize information through presenting tables, graphs and summary measures, this certainly involves Descriptive statistics and if we need to make inferences, hypotheses testing, determine relationships and make predictions, this entails Inferential statistics.
3.The basic terminologies use in Statistics such as Individuals, Variable (Quantitative and Qualitative), Population, Sample, Census, Parameter, etc. serve as foundation to delve the complexity of Statistics or to understand the process of Statistics.
4.In order to have reliable information, as a researcher I must make sure that my sample (if ever I use sampling method) is really representative of my target population and minimize any sampling bias.

Good day Dr. Barazon! From the video, I have learned that Statistics is about interpreting the collected and analyzed numerical information from the data. This interpretation is what is highly important and useful in quantitative researches. This interpretation from the statistical data becomes the basis for whatever conclusion that has to be made in a research study. With statistics, a researcher’s conclusion and claims become valid and reliable. I have also learned methods under statistics namely descriptive and inferential. From what I have understood, descriptive statistics is the summarizing of information presented in tables and graphs while inferential statistics is drawing conclusions from a sample such as making predictions, etc. Also, quantitative variable is more on numerical measurement while qualitative variable is more on the description of an individual such as whether he/she is a male or female. My mind was also refreshed and reviewed on the levels of measurement namely nominal level, ordinal level, interval level, and the ratio level. Thank you!

    1. Knowing and applying statistics is bettering our decision-making skills.
Statistics is the way to go if we want to improve our capacity to decide and conclude.
    2. Statistics is the best tool to make our lives easier.
I commend all the statisticians and mathematicians in this field who made our lives easier.-
    3. It is essential to familiarize yourself with the terminologies in the course.
Understanding this subject matter or field is not a one-day event but a lifelong process; the first step is to know its key concepts.
    4. One of the enormous changes in student performance management and award system in the Department of Education is in looking at the importance of interval level of measurement compared to ordinal. Years ago, students were ranked according to their GPA to determine who the first honor was, the second in rank, and so on. However, a positive revolution has changed maybe because of this.
To end, Statistics as a subject matter is applicable and essential in all fields. May we continue to appreciate this field through application to further our knowledge and contribute to society. 🙂

Along with the uncertainties in this world and the slideshow of events in our lives, we need wise choices and decisions to make. Hence, we need data as basis of knowing, measuring, doing and generating and inferring on processes. In doing so, it is essential to understand the full spectrum of descriptive and inferential statistics. Data collection must undergo technical processes and procedures to be understood and interpreted. This can be done by choosing the appropriate statistics. In the case of describing the results through mean, gains, frequencies, tables, percentages and graphs- one must used descriptive statistics. Moreover, if one tries to prove or test a hypothesis of a certain study, data collection can be derived through inferential statistics. In this regard, quantitative and qualitative data maybe gathered in both use of statistics to satisfy the essential data needed subject for discussion where results are hereby analysed, interpreted, concluded and given implications and recommendations.
Moreover, researchers are well guided when appropriate use of statistics is being employed. From a random data sample to its data results, interpretation is very much dependent to it. Thus, it is imperative to understand thorough its statistical processes, numerical interpretation and figure displays as proper statistical treatment to any data gathered. Qualitatively, data are still collected but with patterns and themes to analyze in order to organize and summarize its message to the readers, implications to practices and recommendations for actions and future practices.
As educators and researchers, the profession itself calls upon daily collection of facts and data that reflects on our day-to-day teaching. It’s a matter of documenting it accurately and exhaustively to gain insights from it. From there, we can make a proper standpoint on where the actions and reflections are comping from. Simply, because we take value on the statistics recorded. Hence, this will be a significant basis in proving a stand, making a change and generating progress to the necessary longlist of actions and recommendation needed to be attended to.

Almost all scientific fields, including the physical and social sciences, as well as commerce, the humanities, government, and industry, employ statistics. Fundamentally, statistics is an area of applied mathematics that resulted from the application of calculus and linear algebra, among other mathematical techniques, to probability theory.
In practice, statistics refers to the notion that by examining the traits of a smaller group of comparable items or events (a sample), we may learn about the features of huge populations of objects or occurrences (a population). Statistics begin with a sample that can be readily or economically observed since it is frequently too expensive, difficult, or downright impossible to acquire full data about an entire population.
Data analysis employs descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, two different categories of statistical procedures. To create descriptive statistics, statisticians measure and collect data on the people or part in a sample. Then, they can use the observed characteristics of the sample data, which are correctly referred to as "statistics," to draw conclusions or educated guesses about the parameters, or unmeasured (or unmeasured) characteristics of the larger population.
Statistics provide us the knowledge we need to understand how things operate. Research, evaluation of results, the development of critical thinking, and the making of well-informed judgments all rely on statistics. Almost any subject of study may benefit from the application of statistics to explore the causes, timing, and predictability of events.
The features of a sample or data set, such as a variable's mean, standard deviation, or frequency, are described or summed up using descriptive statistics. In contrast, inferential statistics uses a variety of methods, such as correlation or regression analysis, to link the variables in a data set to one another. These can then be applied to infer or forecast Knowledge of Statistical Data.
Variables are what statistics is all about. A variable is a collection of facts that can be counted and denotes a property or attribute of a thing. Two primary categories of variables exist. First, qualitative variables are particular characteristics that frequently lack numeric values. In statistics, some examples of qualitative variables are gender, eye color, and place of birth. To ascertain what proportion of a result happens for any given qualitative variable, qualitative data is most frequently employed, and qualitative analysis frequently does not rely on numerical data. Analyzing qualitative data, for instance, can help determine what proportion of women own businesses. Quantitative variables are the second category of variables in statistics. Only when a non-numerical description is present can quantitative variables have any significance. This knowledge is based on statistics, much like quantitative analysis.
After analyzing variables and outcomes as part of statistics, there are several resulting levels of measurement. Statistics can quantify outcomes in these different ways:
Nominal Level Measurement, Ordinal Level Measurement, Interval Level Measurement, Ratio Level Measurement
To gather statistical information, it would often not be possible to gather data from every data point within a population. Instead, statistics relies on different sampling techniques to create a representative subset of the population that is easier to analyze.
In statistics, there are several primary types of sampling. Simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified sampling, cluster sampling.

Today, the core of my understanding of research is reinforced. Whatever the nature of research is, whether it is qualitative or quantitative, doing research is for the improvement of our quality of life, nothing less. As one of the tools of research, statistics becomes a paramount component of research. Making sure that the output follows a logical and reputable way of analyzing data is a necessity in statistics. If the data is correct, then the analysis will also be correct. But if the data was erroneously generated, then the benefit accorded to the beneficiaries of the research will be taken away. True enough, statistics helps people from different walks of life or levels of governance make informed choices. They don't just act on impulse and emotions anymore, but rather on correct information and factual data. This the reason why learning about statistics is necessary in these digitalized world that we have. I am hoping that I will be able to learn more on how statistics can be taught to the layman or the ordinary folk, so that they themselves will reap the benefits of it in their daily lives.

Another informative video from you doc that I enjoyed watching and learning at the same time. I learned how important statistics is not just in obtaining information in dealing with quantitative research but also in making wise decisions in life. I also learned the difference between inferential statistics from descriptive statistics. The guidelines in conducting statistical study being presented is also a great help for us. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us, doc.

As I viewed the video I learned that it is very important in decision making as a busy teacher and soon to be a Head teacher , Statistics will help us as a tool on deciding the appropriate solution on a population that we are going to study in which we will use samples like random sampling to have a an accurate data or to attain a saturation data enough to answer to the problem that we have identified and needs intervention .without using the quantitative and qualitative variables then we cannot call it as an inferential statistics that could be a source of proof and evidence of what we want to search for..

Most of the time, it is either too difficult or expensive to gather data from the entire population that you are interested in, thus you can only get data from a sample.
Inferential statistics employ your sample to make educated assumptions about the larger population, whereas descriptive statistics can simply summarize the features of a sample.
When using inferential statistics, it's crucial to employ unbiased and random sampling techniques. You cannot generalize or draw reliable statistical conclusions if your sample is not typical of your population.
