The details of his upbringing, made public, aside, he was just THE most extraordinary man. His talent, his generosity, his completely unaffected nature, is a lesson to us all. Factor in, though, the hardship and cruelty he suffered as a youngster, and to say that 'we will not see his like again' is a vast understatement. Thanks for all the wonderful entertainment, and enjoy your reward, Sir Norman Wisdom.
I will search the internet for all the Norman Wisdom films. And seeing Lana Morris reminded me of one of my visits to The Old Vic theatre. I was invited by a friend, who was an old theatrical producer. The year was 1988. After all the audience left, we were invited to have a drink in the main bar, and just by chance, I met Lana. She was a very friendly. The memory of that time will never leave me.
They were great together they had a fantastic chemical reaction between each other, both sadly missed and Lana lovely lady and gone at 68 years of age,too young in our modern times, admired them both, they were wonderful together.
I've loved Norman's films since I was a kid, I was at the seaside somewhere for the weekend in about 1994 and saw a poster for him on stage, got tickets and got to see him live. So glad I did. God bless Norm.
A great clip of a dear and talented man - and the lovely Lana too! 'Trouble in Store' was the very first film I saw in the cinema, being taken there in the mid-50s by my mother. I really enjoyed the film, not only for Norman's antics but also the great supporting performances - and I think I fell in love with Lana Morris on the spot and followed her later career with interest. Many years later (early 90s), I was enjoying fish and chips in a restaurant in Cheam - and found Norman and his lady friend eating-in too - apparently they ate there quite often when passing. He was recognised by a couple of other customers and they exchanged a few words; I didn't intrude but wished I had at least said 'hello' and told him how he introduced me to the cinema!
My mum was a young girl waitress in the 50s In a cafe in Carlisle, she waited on Norman and he gave her a really generous tip.....said he was one of the loveliest customers she ever had....I always thought a young Lee Evans would have been marvelous as Norman Wisdom in a Bio-pic or drama...

Just been watching Lana in a Maigret episode made in the early 60s. She was very good in it.
