- The entire house concert at Doug and Robin's on 17 May 2023.
These are two giants in Irish music. They have won about every award and have played with about every trad musician you've ever heard of. I've been listening to Andrew Finn Magill's fiddle playing for years, and he's touring with the amazing guitarist and bouzouki player Alan Murray.
Andrew Finn Magill is a Fulbright fellow, North Carolina Arts Council Fellow, and award-winning composer. He has been featured on MTV, TEDx, Avianca in-flight entertainment and multiple times on NPR's The Thistle & Shamrock. His 2016 album Roots (featuring Cillian Vallely of Lúnasa and John Doyle) debuted at number #46 on the folk DJ charts and since then, he has toured internationally and headlined several Irish festivals.
Scottish guitar & bouzouki player Alan Murray is one of the most in-demand accompanists in Irish music and has performed at Denmark’s Tønder Festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest and Celtic Connections. Alan has shared the stage with such artists as Karan Casey, Niall and Cillian Vallely, Eileen Ivers and Scotland’s Battlefield Band. Видеоклипы

You two are amazing! Blown away by it all!! My Grandmother was a McEwen. Her Grandfather came to the States from Ayrshire county n the 1800's. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent playing.
Brilliant
Writing a tune for Alex the pioneer piper in D was very thoughtful. Fair play! This was 90 mins of pure joy. Fantastic gig!
Really good playing

Thanks for sharing Doug! That was such a memorable evening. Thanks for all you do for traditional music!
Just a wee question, @AndrewFinnMagillMusic: The melody you're playing as intro and outro to Men of the Sea, is that a separate tune that has a name? It's wonderfully catchy.
Thank you for being there and giving us such joy.
Thank for sharing this concert. Gave me tons of ideas as a fiddler and bouzouki player. 👏
I'm glad. They were inspiring.
As a whistler and bouzouki player I second that.
Me too! I play Irish Bouzouki and this is great stuff. And what a fiddle player.

Hi Alan, what tuning are you using on the zouk? lovely gig :)
Definitely sounds like GDAD, which is the go-to Irish way. The lightest course is tuned down from E to D, to allow for the typical drone.
@@petterfuhre17thanks a lot!
fantastic . From an old folky ( 74 years old), You need some polishing but you will get there
Too much talking.
Well, there's the right-arrow key to get you past that. I for one greatly enjoy the banter.
