When you think of the life length of such a bonsai, will this continue as a collection of plants until they are very old? Will it become a single plant merging at the roots? Will you trim the roots at some point to keep it from out growing the pot? I like the moss. It's amazing to me that you can just go out and 'harvest' it.

These questions keep running in my mind too. I think they can go on forever with care and maintenance. They will grow, trunks will thicken and may merge too. Time will tell. Repotting will be needed every 3-4 years depending on growth. Pots will need to be changed too if they outgrow the pot. I will address each issue as an when it happens.Thanks

Jade is a succulent. It will not thrive in a closed terrarium.
