My co-workers who has the Model 3 Long Range says he is blown away by the quality interior of this BMW i4. He has seen once in a BMW dealership. I currently have the Model X. The Germany quality is top-notch. Peace for EVs.
@@matt815 That's the power of electric motors. Usually, every EV above 500hp-ish has this crazy ammount of jerk, like on a roller coaster launch. The advantage of EVs is that the motor "only" has to >use< power that's been stored in the battery. An ICE has to >produce< power by burning gasoline/diesel, which of course takes much longer. Also electric motors sit directly at the wheels. In AWD EVs (like the M50), you have 1 motor in the back and 1 motor in the front, eliminating the need for a drive shaft. Lastly, to give you an idea, how powerful electric motors are: Remember how ICEs go up to 7-9k RPM? Electric motors do that too, and then some. Usually you're in the range of 15-16k. More advanced motors go up to 18-19k and some extreme examples even go up to 21k RPM. All of that with just magnets, therefore infinite reliability.
I really like the look of the Interior & Exterior of this particular BMW and also how the motor sounded. I can hear EVERYTHING pretty much in your videos through my In-Ear Monitors including how the in-car stereo systems sound. Thanks for making this!
@@casperhansen9955 it’s really the best they can do with the tech that we have right now. the only real innovation in the sound department is the new electric dodge challenger. i think they still have exhausts but they have some way to recreate the vibration and engine sound to about 70% accuracy which gets me hyped.
I actually think, that the iX and the i4 are good looking. But the i4 is looking much better in my opinion :D But look at the new iX1. It has "normal“ grills, so I think they remembered, how to build cars… :)
@@alh06 I saw one on the road and in all black, which hides some of it’s awkwardness, it’s not horrible. Same with the i4/m3/m4. Black seems to be the color to get with these new designs.

Not the biggest fan of EV’s but there are a few brands that do em just 👌 in terms of how pleasing the things that they add are. Namely, porsche and now bmw with these new ones

You sounded a little tired this video! Great looking color and the interior color combo is very beautiful, but it is a lot money for the extra options. I get its cool and "trendy" for an electric vehicle in a familiar platform, but they should build an EV from the ground up & then make it look more like a familiar vehicle - not the other way around.
I wish when you test any car little bit force and see how is. like shot break pedal. 0-60 time,. go fast a corner and see how the body roll! Now everyone can make a video and explain their feeling but im sure you can do more!
It’s unfortunate that BMW is giving automotive journalists I4’s with the optional wheels. Those allegedly reduce range by over 40 miles… would be nice to have the standard wheels to see if 270 miles is actually realistic.

I bought an X7 5 months ago and now and looking for an electric vehicle for my daily work commute. I am torn between ordering this i4 m50 or waiting for the near future holds for other electric BMW offerings. I already have a 2013 Hond Accord paid in full that gets 27-35 mpgs. Do you think this i4 m50 is a must have or hard pass?
If you got the financial means to get it, it will sure impress you compared to the Honda accord. This thing is a beast in terms of performance and efficiency from what I see. Looking forward to owning one in the near future.

You realize the BMW i4 M50 is faster than a Tesla Model 3 Performance in every discipline? Also, the Tesla will have no chance in a track race against the BMW. I don't know what you are referring to as numb steering, but BMW's have the best handling and steering feel in the segment, out of any brand. This car is better than any Tesla, any day of the week. No comparison. A well equipped i4 M50 can be had for under $70,000, with most features that one will ever need. I think they truly made an incredible car.

The model 3 is faster to 60 and has a higher top speed... there hasn't been any track tests and considering the project director on the i4 m50 didn't even release a track time because it wasn't built for it and couldn't handle it (by his words), I wouldn't be so sure about that at all. It’s a solid EV, minus the high price. Then again, this is BMW, so par for the course on that. A bit of a shame that it has the M badge, but doesn’t really handle like one. SavageGeese seemed to mention the same thing about how it really doesn’t deserve the badge, since it feels nothing like an M car. Why they didn’t just sell this without the M badge, I’ll never know…
I hate the fake noise. Defeats the whole beauty of having an EV just accelerate with almost no sense of a noise associated with it. I may be in the minority here but I the magic of an EV is taken away when unnatural propulsion noise is added. Sounds like the car is just too heavy for you but unlike Mercedes, Volvo, Audi, Kia/Hyundai and others, BMW seems not all that interested in putting that many of their cars on dedicated platforms (Volvo hasn't yet, but starting with the XC90 successor, they will). Only the BMW iX is on a dedicated platform. They may want to rethink this, at least in terms of weight and handling feel.
bmw is in no man's land at that price point. If you dont care about interior "feel" and fancy wheels. you can save yourself a bunch by going with tesla. Oh there is that little thing called DC charging. it's non-existent in usa. If you dont care about money, just go with Taycan or Macan.

A lightly optioned i4 M50 would be a perfect car for me. Alas, I think at $82k this is kind of steep, but at mid $75k this feels about right.
Is this US dollars? I just specced mine out fully optioned and it only came to $72k USD

I test drove both and I can say that this isn't true of the 2024's. Went with the M50. It takes the curves better than the Audi S5 it replaced.

The Polestar is a nice car, but it's a tier down in fit and finish and ride quality as well as performance.

What is that creaking sound around 10:13? Is that your camera gear, or does the cars interior have slight crackles/rattles/pops etc.
Generally, modern bmws are pretty rattle-free. Haven‘t driven this one, but I have a 3 series which is similar and it‘s rock solid.

Thats not visible for human eyes. Cameras do see this infrared, but otherwise it's invisible

It is f*ckin fast. BMW claims 0-60 at 3,9 sec, but many people measured like 3,7 in wet conditions…
