    Yes, you can spray Just For Flowers in advance. It does not harm the life of fresh blossoms. In fact, it shares some of the properties of our Clear Life product and acts as an anti-dessicant. This helps reduce the evaporation of moisture through the petals.

    Bianca - Yes - ColorTool can be used on many different surfaces, including fabric and silk flowers. Just shake the can throughly and mist lightly as she shows on her demonstration.

    Will the paint preserve the flower? I'm looking to keep the flowers as decorations . Should I preserve them first then spray them?

  • @dmcolor
    @dmcolor  13 лет назад +2

    Most certainly. While keeping the same spraying distance on permanent botanicals achieves a more natural application of color, there is no danger to the blossom if you spray closer. Also, on silk flowers, if coloring the blossom looks a little uneven due to its texture apply MESS MASTER into the sprayed flower to act as a blending agent.

  • @dmcolor
    @dmcolor  11 лет назад +4

    There are a few variables that can make it difficult to determine how many flowers can be sprayed with one can of color. One is the type of flower, two is which type of spray (COLORTOOL Spray or Just For Flowers) and three is how deep is the color desired (how many coats need to be applied to achieve the desired color). An overall estimate is 15-25 blossoms per can of spray color.

    Is it possible to lighten a color of a silk flower. Example, changing a pink flower to a blush. Thank you in advance. Oh and are you using matte or glossy?

    • @dmcolor
      @dmcolor  5 лет назад +1

      Our colors perform best when taking a lighter color to a darker color. Pink to blush is a more gentle shift. Try our Just For Flowers or TintIT for shifting and choose an orange color to see if that will work. It depends on the surface you are spraying as well as the original color value. Thanks for reaching out and good luck in all your creative endeavors! Visit dmcolor.com for more information.

    Hi there, how are the textures of the flowers after being sprayed? I tried to hand paint my orchids with acrylic gold metalic paint as well as gold fabric metalic spray paint and it turned the flower almost paper like which is not good. It looks nice, but it also can't feel like paper because I am making these into hair flower clips and I don't want people saying it feels like paper or feels hard. I want want texture to stay soft.. Any tips of keeping the fabric of the flower soft when using metalic paint? I even tried mixing the metalic gold paint with water but the color did not look rich enough. Thanks

    • @dmcolor
      @dmcolor  3 года назад +2

      On fresh flowers there is minimal change of petal texture. On silk flowers the sprayed finish feels lightly starched with the fabric remaining pliable. The more coats applied the heavier the finish. But normally 2 light coats still keep the fabric soft. Our sprays are not water soluble and will not mix well. The water will also interfere with the metallic pigments and remove the reflective qualities of the paint.

    This spray is toxic or not , and how long the flowers last ? Thanks for sharing ☺☺☺

    • @dmcolor
      @dmcolor  6 лет назад +1

      The sprays are not toxic when label instructions are followed. The spray does not affect longevity of the flowers. More information is available on our website, dmcolor.com

    • @dmcolor
      @dmcolor  6 лет назад +1

      Our sprays are non-toxic when dry. During application you will want to spray in a well-ventilated area. The spray color does not lessen normal blossom life. That length depends on the condition of the fresh flower when sprayed.

    • @dmcolor

      When applied as directed, the spray color does not harm the life of cut flowers. The treated flower would last as long as if it was not color enhanced.

      We always use this outside so we don't inhale much. Also, this is not something you want to use on a daily basis. Enjoy the naturalness of flowers as much as you can. We use these paints when flowers don't come in the color we need (the callas are more pink than burgundy) or we need a color that isn't in season. This weekend I'm painting white hydrangeas a different color because the color of hydrangea that I need is out of season. I believe this product should be used as a tool and not a staple.
