In this video, I will explain how to replace the serpentine belt or how to remove the serpentine belt on BMW F10 F11 5 Series. Also if you need the serpentine belt diagram I will share that as well in the video. I demonstrate how to remove and replace the serpentine belt on 2013 BMW 528i but the procedure should apply to multiple years and models.

This applies, I think, to 4-cyl petrol engines (or maybe also 6-cyl petrols). Just bought a 2012 F11 530d with the N57D30O1 diesel (6-cyl), and it's different. That said, the explanation is very clear and easy to understand, kuddos for the production. Also - if the belt replacement is this easy - do it often (more often than mfd's recommendations - same applies to oils (in case of my engine it's 30k - f-ing really, BMW?)). Belts do fail - and when they do, they tend to cause mess (damaged harmonic balancers, various pulleys, ingested belt pieces into front main seal, etc). A new belt costs from 10 to 20 euros (nothing compared to damage in case of neglect). Greetings from Latvia.
Thank you for the detailed info Juris. We don’t have very many diesel over here in the USA. But they are great engines! It is good to know that it is different for people. I like your idea of servicing them sooner than later!! Good idea!
Wow! Keep making this content. You made it simple to follow.
You for the encouragement!
This video - BY FAR - was one of the most simplest videos I've ever seen for a task like this. Now I'll be brave enough to fix this issue on my own!
That’s really nice to hear Derrick. Take your time and you should do great!
This was a pretty easy belt change. Easier then I expected. Don’t be afraid to work on your BMWs!
All I can say is Thank You for such detailed instructions, I was able to change my belt in about 30min. Saved me hundreds in dealer labor!!!!🤙🏽
Hey, that is awesome to hear! Job well done 👍
Thank you so much you help me to save about 1k😂
Nice! This will serve as a guide for me when I replace my belt… 👍🏼
