i have an akai m-10 -grate deck auto reverse worked grate auto reversa to but know when it goes into reverse can hear bleeding from track 1 -does it need lube or something -know how to fix has not been one m-10 on ebay over year still none thanks wc
My Akai GX-620 is in park mode; indefinitely. The PC Board traces are destroyed by some type of corrosive flux, that they used back in the day, when they made the machine. maybe a donor power supply board will come by one day.
I never liked the counter on the '625' model .It appears 1 full rotation = 1 count. This is not std. spec for an R2R, should be 3 counts per rotation. Inconvenience to cue & splice with the 625's inaccurate counter.

Hi Walter, it sounds like a head may be misaligned. Try playing a factory recorded tape and see if the problem goes away. Let me know what you find.

The 625 actually has a real-time counter in addition to the rotational counter. Surprisingly accurate.
