      I'm sorry your store doesn't have better inventory. It does vary so much by store and by location. I have found that sometimes speaking to the department manager and asking for certain plants brings awareness to the store that customers are looking for certain things. This might help them bring in better selections in the future. Thanks for watching 🌱

      We are in southern VT. Moved from NJ to VT, and those 5 hours away-zones change, and the Home Depots up here do not get these types of restock as well.

      We were on vacation in NM in August & I looked for a nursery to buy cactus local to you. No nurseries I could find. We were in Lincoln & Capitan mountains but travels to Ruidoso & saw 1. Loved your state.

    Just stopped at my Home Depot Garden Center today and I was very disappointed. Their fall inventory was so low, mostly mums. Your Home Depot has an amazing variety of plants. I live in the Midwest and find most garden centers in my city aren’t good at bringing in plants for fall planting. To me it’s a perfect time to add new plants in my perennial garden. Thanks for the awesome tour and the information you provide about the plants.

    I grew white and blue Calamintha from seed last year (Swallowtail Seeds). They were easy to grow and when I pinched them I stuck every piece in potting soil and most of them rooted--it was very easy to increase the amount of plants that way.

    I planted a Ruby Euphorbia Joe Pye Weed last year and it did ok. It was very slow to emerge this spring but it’s now in full bloom and beautiful. I do have another one that’s popped up close by so I’ll be moving it to another spot in my yard or sharing with a friend. I think I read that they do spread by runner so I’ll just keep a close watch in the area to keep it under control.

    Like to watch your videos but the ones supporting the big box stores kinda rub me the wrong way about you. I'm wondering why you don't support your local greenhouses which are small businesses are struggling due to the bigger stores. Just wondering what your agenda is. I am a faithful watcher 😉

    • @HookedandRooted
      @HookedandRooted  13 дней назад

      Hi Cheryl, it's easier for me to film and talk about the plants at these larger stores. It's a bit harder to do plant education in smaller independent nurseries. I do, however, frequent local and independent nurseries often. Also, I'm a big supporter of small businesses as my family owned a small business for 35 years. I simply visit these stores for ease of filming. Also, local nurseries aren't always accessible to everyone, and the prices can sometimes be higher. I like to show garden centers that are available to the masses. On my channel I do have several videos visiting local to me nurseries. I'm not paid by, or affiliated to these box stores in any way. I hope this helps explain things. Thanks for watching.
