15:42 When I heard Talon say "Y'all don't need me" all I could think of in my head was "No buddy, Ron needs you more than you probably know and likely more than anybody at that company." Ron I know you have a bunch of great, hard working guys on your team but Talon is the next generation along with Ethan. Talon will be that "go to" guy when you're not available and something needs to get done, or a question answered. I've watched your videos for many years and always smiled when I saw your dad, you, Talon and Ethan working a scene together. I lost my dad in 2016 to cancer and sadly we weren't close at all for nearly 20 years. We were able to get back to a tight father and son relationship for 3 years before his death. His 2nd wife had alienated him from his entire family and only as his grandchildren were grown did he see the light. Many guys would give anything to be in your shoes the way you have family and business able to coexist. Guys around our age (you and I) are the last generation of "hands on" guys and I'm glad you got to share those times with your dad, son and son-in-law. I can see how great of a teacher and student to your business, employees and family you are. So happy I get to see details of your every day work life.
My dad and I, both owner operator truck drivers, were in a similar situation for 4 or 5 years. We could be at the same truck stop, fueling up side by side and not even look at each other. Thanks to both my wife and my sister, we patched things up a year or so before his death in 2008...he was only 64 years old and was killed trying to avoid hitting a car that cut him off on I-285 going around Atlanta-I was about 1/2 mile behind him and saw the whole thing. If I did 1 thing right in the time that my dad and I were being foolish it's that I DID NOT keep him from seeing his grandchildren and I know that he appreciated it. Seeing him die almost caused me to give up trucking but, I know that he wouldn't have wanted that. I miss him to this day and know that he's watching over me and my family. I only wish that he was still here on earth to enjoy his now 6 year old twin grandsons and that they could know him!
i mean this in the most respectful way, be thankful that all you guys know who your dad is! I was raised by a single mother (who tried her best to be a father figure as well) i would have loved to have a father, or any other family for that matter. All i had was my mom, and i lost her 9-29-2021 from a blood clot from the 2nd shot. (please don't reply with any political stuff, it's not needed here on Ron's channel) Now it's only me. I found my father's name and searched it, found out he passed away when I was a year old, so no chance of ever meeting him.
The new intro took me back to watching Emergency! on TV as a kid in the 1970s. I still love that show and watch it on the "retro" channels when I'm home. Squad 51 and Engine 51 were/are the real stars of the show to me. Even though I've seen decked combinations on the road for most of my life, I never really paid attention to how they were assembled. I just assumed that they were connected to the 5th wheel somehow so, I learned something from this video too. As always, be safe and God bless you, your crew and your equipment.
Love the new intro! Good to see Talon out and about instead of always in the shop. Thankful the driver of the damaged unit was ok and you were able to work with the transfer company guys to help them get the rigs back on the road to their destination. Stay safe and God bless your family and crew.
I can see the appeal, but I have to disagree on the intro. It sounds so much louder (regardless of the actual decibel number; I haven't checked) that my hand instinctively went to the volume button. I have the same problem with half of Matt / Diesel Creeks intros. The duration went from 24 to 12 seconds, so that's a definitive win though :)
@@RonPratt I miss the more complete herald trumpets so could you just add the rollout/Q to the end of that? Would still be relatively short compared to many others.
I've always wondered how they did that. Thank you for the close up look. It has been a rough winter for many this year. I keep all of you in my prayers. Thank you for everything you do to help others. Stay safe and God bless.
Ron - As a retired firefighter and medic we found that if you drilled a 3/8" hole in your blocks, cribbing, and run a 1/4" rope through the hole, tie a knot and work it into the drilled hole that it made for ease of grabbing and pulling. Just a suggestion. Great videos. Really miss the "Q" sirens on the trucks.
It’s not on all the blocks but many of them have ‘handles’ made from pieces of (I believe) fan belts. You likely have seen that in other videos of his, and one of the blocks here had that on it but apparently not the other.
I was just thinkin after seeing the Peterbilt mat on the truck floor, if you had a Ron Pratt mat made with the same font, it would look very cool. Thanks for another great Friday upload.
As a ex fleet technician for Bridgestone commercial the technician banging the ice of the face of the rim I definitely was shocked as if I did that to any of my customers rims it would be a very serious case, and yes I have worked in far worse conditions indeed, but all by myself as well in having to replace every wheel and tyre in extremely dangerous situations, but then again these tractor units pig backed is absolutely ilegal here, but our truck's have 9 axles and carry up to 42 tonnes payload, but then again Ron and team are the differences between the normal again ☺.
Did I miss the part where they explained why they didn't just use the first truck as the power? It is cool to see how the piggy back system works. I have seen it with new trucks many times. Was not aware it was used with used trucks.
Ron, thanks for the update video from the big crash scene , much easier for you guys to work in the daylight, much less dangerous conditions!!!!!!! Much love Ron and your family /team , keep up the good work, stay safe in whatever you do on a daily basis!!!! Your friend Bob Compton from, maryland . God bless you , Ron and your family/team
Good morning Ron, hope all is well with you and your family and crew. Loved seeing Talon in your last video. Always look forward to a new video. God Bless y'all
those guys are an 18 wheeler pit crew in efficiency. Double checked every nut and got those tires on quite fast, given the weight of those tires. Gonna take a wild guess and say they've probably done this a few times before. As always Ron. Good show. Stay safe out there.
I missed the opening song but I'm here for what follows so the intro has never really been an issue. What a nasty, icy mess. My own hands got cold! Great to see Talon. Hope he and his family are well. Piggybacks make me nervous on the highway. My runaway imagination gets the best of me. Thanks Ron for another interesting adventure. Be safe. God bless you all.
Wow, that was a mess. But with everyone working as a team, it went really well. Good job everyone! I always wanted to drive a tow truck. Just watching your videos makes me realize, that probably wasn't possible even in my younger years. I did learn something. How you crossed the cables in an X while lifting the 2nd truck off the wrecked truck. That may be a common way to do it, I just didn't know. Great application for me to use on small things too so it doesn't sway. It's all very interesting to watch.
Nice to see talon, as everyone is saying. Just surprised he didn't want to use the remote. He looked "Frezed"/frozen. Neat to see the piggyback. I agree that carmats might be nice for merchandise. I would like one for my front door, weather proof.
Nice to see Talon out of the shop with his fancy new clean boots lol and its always good to hear both you all working together now if you can get him to run and workout with you so he doesn't get soft in the shop
I really enjoy your videos. And I totally appreciate your RESPECT for the families of those severely injured or killed by accidents, in your well principled choice of NOT publishing videos of your recoveries involving fatalities or severe injuries. You find and produce plenty of interesting and educational material without showing that! Thank You and God Bless You and your entire staff and family.

Ron love the new opening with you rolling out of the bay with the good old Q siren sounding...it is great. I have another suggestion for more merch for you diecast models of the fleet especially the Rotator. All the best to you and your family...Stay Safe.
The versatility of the rotator is quite spectacular, and I see why Mr Pratt had purchased it, very handy on different kinds of jobs. I like the new intro, maybe mix it with the one you've been using a lot, good job Mr Ron and Talon Slow down move over God bless be safe and watch out for motorcyclists, little kids, critters of all kinds, and little old ladies going to Bingo
I drove these 4 way stack units from Dallas to California every week for two years for a company called NTC (National Trailer Convoy). Lots of fun but0 unless they changed the design of the saddle that attracted the trucks I can see how easy it broke away. The snapped blots all the time we would have to call Raider to come out and repair them. We mostly drove at night because the trucks would rock and sway like train in fact we called that last truck a wild dog on a pice of kite string. They banded the front tires to the truck's and when you sometimes stopped other truckers would steal the tires so when you got to your destination they couldn't undock them. Never drove a set in snow or ice.. TC
Hey Ron I recently met a lovely lady who is not only stealing my heart but is restoring my faith in God. I just wanted to share this with you. I've watched all of your videos and your like an old friend.
Well that answers the question I have wondered about since seeing this method in Canada back the 80ts about the hook up thank you stay safe and to all in snow go slow
