Goosebumping performance of a song called Anthem, written and sang by Roy Khan, a singer from an amazing band called Kamelot. On keyboards - Oliver Palotai.
you know, watching Roy I would think he's spazztic with the mic for show, but his mic technique really is astounding. That man has so much musical talent, it's inhuman.
What's a miracle if life itself is not? Who am I to praise its worth with a hymn? I may stumble over words that I forgot Just as life itself may slowly begin Sing me a song for the mountains to move Sing me the anthem of life Sing me the anthem of life I am skeptical, I like my glass of wine I don't know your name or what I am to do One day you'll wonder why, try read between the lines And you will sing for me the way I sang for you Sing me a song for the ocean to part Sing me the anthem of life Sing me the anthem of life Sing me the anthem of life And so another page is turned I pray I understand what's happening But if anything, I do know this I'll be the best I can Sing me a song like the angels rejoice Sing me an anthem of life Sing me the anthem Sing me the anthem of life
I can't believe how good they are... even with this crappy quality video, everything still sounds amazing. I wish they would put out more live CDs over studio ones. While the studio ones are great, they just seem to play so much better live. Great song btw.
Yeah, so my brother and me are gonna go see the guys when they're in London next March - I can't wait man after seeing this. I'm kinda glad we're getting them right near the start of the tour though cos' I've heard they toured so much in 2009 that by the end, Roy's voice was a little rough to say the least and some of the live vids on here prove it. I was actually a little worried he was gonna end his career. No more Kamelot would have been bad, bad news man.
Is he ... afraid ... to show his full voice power? It seems like he's holding it back somehow... I heard this song first time in my life, today...fell in love with it... I'd love it if he and Tarja made a duet...my God...it would sound like Heaven...
@Preeemo I agree whole-heartedly...! especially on pieces like this, okay one chorus with him is fine, but let him work his magic and make music...!! nobody tried to play along with me when i played my trombone recitals.
what do you expect from a studio recording, or cell phone camera? :) i think he sounds the same, just alot more noise in the background and from speakers :)
Hmm I dunno. My friend saw them on the last show they did in 2009 when some of the live video's as you say made his voice sound a little rougher and she said Kamelot were so good live that she had to check out more. So I think its more of low quality videos that make it sound worse than it is. Can't wait to see them in London either. :-)
@demonsgate66 oh come on, i guess everybody is free to sing along at a concert... if you want to listen respectfully to the song just take the studio version :-)
So glad he's back. SO. GLAD.

As much as I accept the fact that band line-ups change, this (to me) will always be Roy Khan's song.
Chanting and singing along isn't a bad thing every time. With this type of song, yes, I only want to hear Khan.
The most beautiful voice full my ears, This is pure perfection
omg I love Roy`s voice so magical
THE CHILLS MAN THE CHILLSSSSSSS
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LOVE YOU ROY!!! I LOVE YOU KAMELOT!!!
Just amazing!
you are the BEST Khan x we love you x
If Khan leaves, I don't think the new singer - whoever it may be - should sing this song. This is purely Roy - his words, his emotions, his child.
Just like Memento Mori, Abandoned, Elisabeth, Epilogue, The Haunting and many others
new singer is also amazing !
Wow, never saw this before. This is beautiful!! My God, I love his voice!
I fucking love Roy Khans voice
Just unbelievable...
I was there. And I will be there the next time (april 2010).
They're awesome. Thx for uploading it
What's a miracle if life itself is not?
Who am I to praise its worth with a hymn?
I may stumble over words that I forgot
Just as life itself may slowly begin
Sing me a song for the mountains to move
Sing me the anthem of life
Sing me the anthem of life
I am skeptical, I like my glass of wine
I don't know your name or what I am to do
One day you'll wonder why, try read between the lines
And you will sing for me the way I sang for you
Sing me a song for the ocean to part
Sing me the anthem of life
Sing me the anthem of life
Sing me the anthem of life
And so another page is turned
I pray I understand what's happening
But if anything, I do know this
I'll be the best I can
Sing me a song like the angels rejoice
Sing me an anthem of life
Sing me the anthem
Sing me the anthem of life
Someday i'll sing this song for my son Audric or Sophie...
Jacke i Love You ^^
I can't believe how good they are... even with this crappy quality video, everything still sounds amazing. I wish they would put out more live CDs over studio ones. While the studio ones are great, they just seem to play so much better live.
Great song btw.
🖤
OMYGOD he's SOOOO fucking emotional.....
True magic right here

Love the intro, love the video ^^

best kamelot vid ever ;)
go anch!!!
he has kids yeah.. anthem was written for his son, six weeks before he was born :)
I agree. The last time Kamelot came to my city, I think I was actually singing louder than Fabio. No wonder he kept smiling and pointing at me. :P
ah, out of time clapping, you join us again.
I like how he sings the final chorus from 3:40 to the end.

@MurtaghXFreakX225 I agree completely!
@Preeemo I agree whole-heartedly...! especially on pieces like this, okay one chorus with him is fine, but let him work his magic and make music...!! nobody tried to play along with me when i played my trombone recitals.

He sounds different on the cd. o.o
OMFG! He has a kid? I can't understand exactly what he says... is his kid six years or months? *__*
Sadly the crowd is completly ruining it... That clapping is just destroying the beauty of the song
I really wish the audience wouldn't sing along with this. Kinda ruins it for me a bit. Leave it to the pro's, guys.
bleh...it was ok...I've heard Roy Khan do wayyyyyyy better than this.
