I guess what I’m trying to get to, is please don’t ever change, crying or not, frustrated or not, you remain like Chris Saenz one of the only real and honest personalities we have and I am very very grateful for it.
I’m SO there at that San Fran show next year. I’m in the process of making a cross country move from Austin, TX to Washington state so all I can do is watch your trip episodes and fangirl at your experiences. But next year, IT’S ON. I just got to your sweet moment at the end, and I love it. I can totally feel that same love for this community😊
Totally agree that pen shows can lead to an overwhelming experience especially if you aren't comfortable with a claustrophobic environment. Planning a budget, plan of attack, very consuming, but lots of fun for pen & stationary freaks like us. Went to Scriptus 2023, skipped the periwinkle pen show ink, but got some goodies like you. Looking forward to Scriptus 2024 in a few months.
Scriptus sounds so fun! I hope to go to a show outside of my "home" show one day, but that's a lot of pen money for traveling. hehe. I hope you have the best time at the show!

First, thank you for sharing your love of fountain pens and ink with all of us!! Second, I went to the SF Pen show. My first time at a pen show of any kind, and I wouldn’t have done that if you and Maria hadn’t streamed into my life. I went on Friday in the hopes of seeing the two of you, but also figured it would be the safest bet on not feeling totally overwhelmed and clueless. Not that I didn’t experience those feelings, but not to the extent I imagined. And god knows what I would’ve yelled at you if I had see you two at the show. Probably complete nonsense. Like, Van Diemen’s….30 inks 30 days…you…so great!! Anyway, I picked up a pen from the Carolina Pen Co, and also chose the Unicorn Autopsy pen sleeve because it’s so genius and ghoulish at the same time. I felt like such a legit pen collector as I walked away from that transaction. I also picked up paper from the Yamamoto Paper company because they were so nice. Got the Colorverse show ink. I’m also in the Bay Area, so next year my goal will be to meet you and Maria @MariaRosseau (not say something stupid) and personally thank you both for bringing such beautiful inks and pens into my life. ❤❤❤

I want to go to the SF Pen Show sometime! I was at the DC pen show earlier in August (since I live in the DC area). I had a blast there even though I went by myself. I agree that pen shows can be overwhelming. I spent most of the afternoon there and left tired but very satisfied with my acquisitions. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and also your tears. I love the pen community especially you, Maria, Seemownay, Chris, etc, etc. You’re all such a pleasure to watch 🤗.
Omg! I have been watching you since I discovered the pen world this April. It’s just so fun to watch you get so excited over inks…yes I started this journey with some pens but I took a detour into the ink realm which I love…while I still learn about these different pens. Awww don’t feel bad! I’ve been a planner, stamper and scrapbooker and I don’t have anyone to share this pen and ink hobby with. But I have met a couple of nice people on RUclips who share the hobby. I’m allergic to cats but that’s why it’s fun to watch your vids because Pearl is mischievous. 😅I’m so new to this hobby and I don’t know much about pens, few months into it and I already want the fancy nibs…remember you are who you are! Don’t try to change for people. Your videos make me want to learn more about pens and inks. But that’s what I love about this new hobby…everyone has a unique journey and everyone has a unique personality…keep being you and don’t change! Missed the pen show this year due to work. But since I don’t have a pens shop here in my city in CA…lol! Pen friends have told me to go to a pen show. Take care and keep smiling!

Friday was definitely better than Saturday; I could barely move through the crowds on Saturday. Sunday’s crowd was somewhere between the two, if I remember correctly. I agree that it’s so awesome when you find people who can relate to you in your hobbies and passions. I would love to be able to meet you and Maria in person someday.

Omg I watched this video to distract myself from a hard time I’m going thru, and when you got choked up and started crying I started to cry for you…and then you said “I’m crying on the internet again” and I busted out laughing thru tears. 🤣😂❤️ I’m so glad you got to go and that it made you feel the way it did!!! I totally get it, as I also don’t have obsessive pen-friends to geek out with. I would love to have that same experience. Sounds so fun! I enjoy hearing everyone's recaps and seeing the goodies purchased. It's a bummer that I missed the show. I was just in the area two weeks earlier visiting my son. In the future, I will need to schedule seeing him around the pen show dates.😂

I bought the all access pass and was there at 8:30 on Friday and was still very overwhelmed. I went back on Sunday and it was a bit better and got a good deal on a pen. Thanks for the haul!

I also just started a pen catalog too, I found that I was wondering what inks I had used with each pen, even though I have currently inked records I like have a page per pen too.
I love how they try to make synthetic manmade materials sound so uplifting by describing them instead as “vegan.” It’s like when you buy a bag of candy, and they put “fat free! Gluten free! No cholesterol!” on the front, as if to imply candy is some kind of superfood. 😂

I was there on Saturday too, from around noon to 2 or so. I got the Kiwi ink that he had used to draw the dragon they had on the table. Dang, I’m wishing I had bought the show ink, now that I see you swatchjng it.
I really like the pen show ink. Apparently Scriptus will have an ink this year and I'm super excited for it, I don't think I even care what the colour is I'm just happy they are bringing back show inks.

I was ~$229 because I had the added expense of the Journaler nib - so I think it was a slightly reduced show price compared to normal retail. I think retail is $255? I think regular price for a standard would've been under $200, but I had to go and be extra.

The Golden Gate ink is indeed not Golden-Gatey but IS very pretty. The Kiwi ink is also super pretty!
