I got mine 4 days ago. After the surgery I was like “huh, it’s done?” But when I got home I was Ok walking with crutches because the nerve blocks were there. But once it wore off, the day after is the worst pain I’ve felt. I felt like chopping my knee off. 2nd day after it was a some pain but a lot of discomfort. Right now it’s not too bad. There’s only a little discomfort under the knee and that’s it so far. And I’m 16 soon 17✌️😗

Don't worry I had my ACL surgery yesterday and it's not really that bed you'll be 😴 before you know it and you'll wake up and it's all over with. Good Luck on your journey.
Full ACL tear and meniscus: Is it safe to take of the brace and outer bandage wrap the day after surgery it feels like it’s wrapped so tightly and no blood flow and my foot is cold, it’s all tingly/numb and painful for sure feels all bruised in there. Pain killers don’t seem to be helping a ton only when I was in a deeper sleep this morning from the 1st day the pain is worse day 2 but these bandages are killing me. The ice machine doesn’t seem like it’s doing it’s job either because the bandage wrap and brace is so thick for it to get cold in my knee? Help any advice this sucks!
Hi there! I have no knowledge about these things and I am very curious so I would really appreciate it if you could walk me through what happens after tearing your acl. Will you be able to walk normally, like, IMMEDIATELY after tearing your acl or would it be difficult?
Mine was torn via falling on a trampoline back in October this past year during a work picnic. At the ER they did an Xray and thought it was torn miniques (I know I spelled that wrong). I went to an ortho doctor. He diagnosed me with an ACL. He tells me just to do PT and a Brace it should help. I was still in pain and I actually collapsed on my steps on Christmas Eve but I shrugged it off. Fast forward to February I'm at work still having pain in my knee can't go two hours having to sit. I decide on going to get a second opinion after a month of debating. My friend gives me a name of a doctor her and people in her family have went to. He sees me orders an MRI (which the first doctor never gave me) turns out the ligament never healed. That was due to have surgery. Then my second date was actually yesterday but it got moved back again because my state is still under Stay at Home order. Hopefully I can get the surgery soon.
@@scottie666 I believe it depends on whether the tear is partial or if it is a complete ACL tear, for the most part from what I've heard and personally experienced, you can walk with a torn ACL but there is a higher chance of reinjury and tearing of other things like the meniscus for example due to instability. I was able to walk normally after a complete tear about a week after my initial injury but for the first week it was a lot of swelling and limping. Hope this helps.
For how long did you have the brace that way?and where you doing therapy then putting the brace back on...or did you start therapy once the brace was permanently off?

@@sdajsiedj21 its actually great. I was regular with my physio until last month, before everything was shut down in my country due to covid. There is some weakness and loss of muscle, but I believe I can regain it once I start hitting the gym after the lockdown. I do feel some very very minor discomfort once a while but thats fine i guess since i am still recovering. Other than that, i feel great. Sometimes I even forget i had a painful surgery just 3 months back. Its that good. The pain is worth it
Ive had ACL operations and im currently in the process of my second one. I would say its worth it in the sense of having range of motion back. A operation helps alot to no longer fear of what you cant do with your leg. Not operating ACL prevents alot of daily activities like climbing, hiking, swimming, sports etc to be uncomfortable/not possible doing. I decided to do surgery for that reason, to not be restricted from any activity or task for my future. If you do decide to do it just know that there will need to be someone to help you for at least 2 weeks since you'll mostly be in bed those times. Hope this helped in a way!
