Exactly like mum cook and yes those days more types of veges are added in. If those want it to be pure vege then skip the anchovies BUT anchovies makes the kirai curry more delicious 🤤. So happy to see the exact replica of ingredients of olden days .

Yes, we can make Keerai Curry using 1 type of spinach (sayur Bayam). Typically, we add more spinach types to the curry as it fills with a variety of nutrients and health benefits. Nonetheless, you can still make using only 1 type of spinach (Sayur Bayam for your matter) I hope this helps you out 🥰
This is how my grandma cook as well, but we use pulichekeerai and sirekeerai only. Rest method is all the same. My grandma normally fry the anchovies separately crush it using mortar n pestle and add to curry. The taste will be Vera level

Okay, last time I checked I found some in Jalan Leboh Ampang at this Indian cash/carry store named P.Risha Enterprise just beside Mollagaa Restaurant, KL. Hi dear 😄 Yes, the method you suggest can be followed also but the nutritions in the food will only be gone if over cooked at a higher degree Celsius. Higher temperatures destroy nutrients in the food this includes re-heating. This dish only takes 30 minutes to prepare. The fact is cooking longer doesn't matter actually it's the level of heat/temperature that we cook in plays a huge role.for example, slow cooker, pressure cooker and so on. These cookers it takes longer to cook yet the dish comes out amazing because it had been cooked at a low to medium high temperature consistently throughout preserving the nutritions and taste. I proud of you KG sir as you mentioned the name in a correct manner. Rich iron content is there in "keerai", which is highly required for our health to boost our Body Immune System. It has more powerful vegetable than any vegetable in the world. 10 rupees of Keerai has the strength of 200 rupees carrot, beetroot, beans, spinach etc put together. Highly recommended to eat at DAY TIME as the optimal digestion happen (requires physical activity and sun light to digest the food).

Hahahahaha, Actually village bird's eye chilis (Cili Api Kampung) are much more spicier compared to this ones. It's just regular kind not that spicy but you can always omit it or replace by adding a few more dried chili instead. Hope this helps you out 🥰
H! Dear, here's Amma's advice to you. Lentils or any hard beans type generally takes time to cook manually of course but that's why you need to soak the lentils beforehand. The longer you soak the faster it cooks. Moreover when we use pressure cooker. It makes life easier. This is Keerai curry not typically dhal recipe. Keep in mind that For Keerai Curry we blend the pressure cooked mixture and continue to cook onward. Lentils are just a bean, it doesn't need longer to cook unlike meat. Pressure cooker also plays a important role in getting cook it's content faster. Hope this helps you out. Have a good one.

You are over cooking madam. One Whistle in Cooker is OK. But, You are allowing to boil for 10 minutes. Just 2 or 3 minutes boiling will be sufficient to split oil. By adding coconut milk, Oil split will take more time, By the time, Keerai (Spinach) will be over cooked & it will loose its fiber content & its aroma; and Keerai will be like Rubber.
Too much chilli. Not recommended for people with sensitive digestive system. On the other hand we can reduce the chilli or add no chilli for people with sensitive stomach.
