Traveling: flights to spain from 30 Euro on per person (when you book early) Language: every effort is appreciated food: yep, beware of a Döner addiction weather: you can end up with 5° F in Germany, so people have decent clothes for these temperatures (because we walk everywhere) AC: agree partially, but you only have to handle the heat for four weeks Staring: Um, yes, sorry. We do. Food: fully agree to the limited american selection. Would love to have more mexican food over here. closing times: very much a southern german thing. further up north 10pm is a normal closing times. If you're bored, don't hesitate to check out your surroundings. DTV here on YT has some suggestions.
I’ve been stared at since i got here 😂, and i found out why. I was stopped by a German lady and she complimented me saying “your face & jaw line is beautiful, i love it, and your small nose just makes it better”, (I’m petite so everything is smaller and i have a shape). However, I’m originally from Alabama, now live in Illinois (just vacationing while husband is on orders here in Germany), so i almost didn’t understand her, so ever since then, I’ve tried to not do my RBF bc I’m somewhat mean but i try not to look mean😂 im pretty social, but im a different person when annoyed (being stared at) or frustrated. I just think Germans are curious when staring, but they don’t comprehend that back home for us, it’s rude to do that😆. In America, staring would normally get you cursed out or hurt. I’ve loved this whole week I’ve been in Germany so far!
I LOVED all 10 years we lived in Germany! I would have retired IN Germany but SOMEBODY🫤 (German wife of 22 years) didn't want to. I would leave America TODAY if I could go back and LIVE in Germany!!!❤❤❤
Hi! my husband just had to let his command know that he was wanting me to go overseas with him, they gave him a list of things for him to do as well as me. Mine wasn’t as long as his since he’s the one in the military. I did have to get command sponsored since we got married after he had already joined the military. Depending on the branch it may be different though.
thanks for sharing your perspective as a military spouse! Living overseas definitely has its share of perks and obstacles.

That is so funny! I’m glad you’re enjoying your time in Germany.
What if I have a foreign wife can she follow me on orders to Germany? Or only if she was American
Im sure she can follow you, she would need to be command sponsored and on your orders of course.
