You know whats even more awesome than this song? The bass player (Mike) is an employee at my dads work, he does all the teching for my shows and always hooks me up with free guitar set-ups!
Exactly-mike is an employee-working a dead end shit day job because he never made a fuckin dime playing music in that shithole country-no chance in hell at making a living in music living up there-like a member of exciter once said in the 80s-we live in the armpit of the world!!!- so true-being a metal musician in that shithole country means only one thing-you end up DEAD BROKE in the end-unless you are a radio friendly wimp gramdma likes it band like rush
@NoLaKazi Slayer's Tom Araya in Show No Mercy, Haunting the Chaple, Hell Awaits, and Reign in Blood, those specific four albums. Because that was when Tom Araya screamed like a banshee in his vocals. He stopped doing it in new albums since Reign in Blood.
@@samtemdo8 Tom is great but even his highest notes ever are roughly an entire octave under what Sheepdog is doing in this song and throughout their entire discography. They're using two different techniques, but still, calling Tom just singing in falsetto "banshee screams" is a bit generous imo.
A lot of people overlook how lyrically brilliant this song is. Just reading the lyrics alone is like watching a horror movie. Razor was something out of this world.
best fuckin' thrash metal lp of all! Ten songs of pure mayhem....way more intense than all of the big four. This is not "documentary thrash" with cameras and pompus speaking ! THIS IS FUCKIN' STREET METAL
Beneath the dampened soil lies a terror from the past The rotting corpses of the damned where evil has been cast A deathly curse surrounding all the ancient graves and tombs The time has come the time is now: release unearthly doom Lightning strikes, evil night, start the dreaded turmoil Rotting flesh appears now from above the loosened soil Rising from the underworld, destroy the human race Unleashed upon a dreary night to spread unholy grace From hell they rise, with screams and cries At death's own will In frantic rage they set the stage They start to kill Evil Invaders: Death deception in the night Evil Invaders: Corruption as they fight the fight Evil Invaders: Spreading out to take command Evil Invaders: The future of mankind at hand Mutilated bodies now employed upon the streets Searching around, seeking out the human flesh to eat Resurgence of the damned will our cities fate defeat? Unless we're strong and earth defend we'll fall beneath their feet The evil force grows stronger as the terror grows intense The panic stricken population builds up it's defence A sudden rude awakening as cities fall to dread Amidst the human slaughter, tell us how we kill the dead
I'd be sitting there slapping my Zenith black and white TV to get the signal clear. At midnight, they had THE best music vids going. And this song was possibly THE heaviest out there at the time. As someone else mentioned, this song is impossible to not headbang to
Hypocrisy brought me here....in January 2018....I bought the hypocrisy album in 97’ (I was 15) didn’t know this was a cover till some years later. This is sick af and see why hypocrisy would cover them. 🤘🏻
Canada has produced some great metal bands, but never had the scene or the media to really support them. Metal is a working class, underclass European or American kind of thing. Metal doesn't jell with Canadian culture at all.
I remember cruising rt. 1 in my 74 Ford LTD with this song, this band blaring out of 4 6x9 AFS kricket speakers and a 100 watt power booster with 6 hand eq and not a care in the world wearing denim & leather and not giving a crap about anything,,, living the metal way of life, girls, guitars stagedivers all that,, what a wonderful time of my life❤this track def was in the mix,,,, 🎸 3:50
The BEST Canadian Metal band ever. Damn right I said it. Razor also happens to be one of my top 5 favorite bands so maybe I'm a little biased. Who cares?
Anthrax's Madhouse video as well.. and I wish people would stop calling Venom Thrash. They're not! They're speed metal. You can hear hardcore punk in the song above, you can't hear it in any Venom songs because they weren't influenced by hardcore. They were Motorhead + 70's Punk + Satanism.
fucking true metal...before all that fake ass, so called nu metal came out...stinking up the scene with its watered down generic, unoriginal riffs...and that scream at the end...fucking supreme sickness!!!!
Canadian thrash metal at it's best,........RAZOR.......EEEEEEEEVIL INVAAAAADERS! & our other great metal bands like Annihilator,Anvil,Exciter,Dayglo Abortions,Monster Voodoo Machine,Quo Vadis,Killer Dwarfs,Baptized In Blood,3 Inches Of Blood,Bison B.C.,Neuraxis,Cancer Bats,Unleash The Archers,The Tea Party,I Mother Earth,Fatality,Augury,Thine Eyes Bleed,Big Wreck,Thornley.
I was 15 when this was released my buddy Daniel was like shit man have you listened to this new song and I was like uh no he flipped on the music video on mtv and I was woah wtf this shit is a headbanger
Damn, Dave Carlo REALLY should've hired a manager and toured the states, (Instead of blaming American fans for their lack of success, vis-a-vis "American Luck"). I think if they had, Razor would've done much better than they ultimately did.
I was there in the days of the GASWORKS a great small venue to see live bands.Razor was one of those bands you had to see live to really appreciate.Another band that was far better live was Venom holy smokes my chest almost caved in and my ears were destroyed for 3 days.

Sorry, the song 's still way more awesome ;)
Sheepdog was amazing, his vocals were the most Thrashiest in Metal history.

Evil Invaders: Death deception in the night
Evil Invaders: Corruption as they fight the fight
Evil Invaders: Spreading out to take command

Best low budget video ever!!!
One of the best songs, singers and band in thrash!!
The riff at 2:36 minutes and some seconds gots to be the heaviest and most aggressive sound I ever heard. !!!!
Love the punk grittiness and edge during the verse.
One of the first thrash metal videos I ever saw on the U-68 Power Hour in 1985. Did a number on my young mind!! \m/ \m/

Somebody get this riff out of head
how ca i describe this amazing band . thats pure gold , one of the best trash speed metal ever
I think that 'Evil Invaders' and 'Voivod' are perhaps the very first music-videos in thrash metal history
VoiVod - so damn technical and just never got the recognition they so deserved.
Xsok0latas_91 yeah i love voivod and razor and demolitian hammer
Venom had some music videos in 1982, though that all depends on if you consider Venom black metal or thrash metal
Jake Espinoza i tjink it would be thrash or speed, but i just think we would call it early black metal with thrash
Anthrax's Madhouse video as well..
