The newest ones, "Jolene" and "Somebody That I Used To Know", are even better than the ones you reacted to on this video. Check 'em out. Creep is still really good.
You hit the nail on the head regarding the absence of 'unnecessary vibrato' and 'not belting out'. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you have to... all the time, every time...
As soon as i saw the word medieval i knew I would love it! This is so amazing and so different. I subbed to their channel. Thanks for sharing this H of The Stage. 💕
RUclips algorithm jackpot! These medieval style covers are great! How do you like them? PS. If you like this kind of content, consider supporting me through Patreon: www.patreon.com/HofTheStage or buying me a coffee with the following link: paypal.me/HofTheStage?locale.... THANK YOU!
Really enjoyed this, I love historical instruments and have an interest in the English medieval era, from 10th to 13th centuries so this is right up my street. Thank you so much for sharing this. 💖💖💖
Had bardcore pop up in my yt recommendations for the first time like three hours ago. Been exploring it for 3 hours straight now, and I don't feel like going to bed already (have to go to work in 6 hours).
Regarding the artwork, I'm pretty sure those are original illustrations from medieval manuscripts. I've seen that "Rabbit hunting the Greyhound" scene elsewhere. We've both been on that side of RUclips, it seems. For another trip to the (less distant) past, you should check out Max Raabe and his brilliant Palast orchestra.
This is what it said in the description of her Bad Romance cover regarding the artwork - The image is a combination of two pages from the Romance of Alexander in French verse, with illuminations by the Flemish illuminator Jehan de Grise & his workshop, 1338-44
@coolspruta - Didn't HvB' do at least some of her illustrations? There are a few interviews online and I seem to remember that from....somewhere? She also has some of the illustrations animated in a very restrained way.
I love Hildegard! RUclips recommended it to me too, it makes more sense for me considering I'm a major history buff. Although I will say the instrumentals are "medieval" in style, but the actual language used in the songs is more late 16th century/17th century. If it was actually medieval (middle/old) English, you would only be able to understand SOME words, if not none of them. I've heard a poem from the early 16th century (1523) and the difference in English then is wild. Especially the changes that had occurred within decades for it to be like it was in the 1590s. That being said, I adore her channel and I want it to grow more than it already has because she deserves it. "I want thy Nero, I want thy Bedlam lament" from the Bad Romance cover is probably my favourite lyric I've come across since April. Bardcore is such a cool genre.
I'm amazed that people have never heard of "bardcore". It's wonderful stuff. I've been listening to it for a couple of years now. Hildegard is amazing!!
@Noradrenline 67 - Better than that, watch the video where k.d.lang sings "Hallelujah" to Leonard Cohen himself at his Hall of Fame induction. Pentatonix is very good, but lang is unsurpassable. Pay particular attention to the way she sings 'hallelujah', each time a bit different building to a crescendo then the final, softer, fade out 'hallelujah', even pulling the mic away from her mouth. Absolute control. Deep chills!
Hey ....please please check out jubin nautiyal from india...one of the most loved singers in india..I am sure you will discover one more indian diamond 💓💓💓💓
H of The Stage she has her own channel if you wish to check her out. Morisette is a fan of Sarah G. Sarah G was her mentor during Morisette”s “The Voice” days. Looks like Sarah’s diaphragm is in her head or toes ... lol...a lot of viewers say she looks like Morisette but a little older (maybe 4-5 yrs older than Morisette but also one of the most loved singer in the Philippines) a very good dancer as well. ruclips.net/video/w_db1fxoNO0/видео.html
We, the army of Hildegard have been summoned.
I kinda really like this! She sings so greatly and I love the way she changes the lyrics and just makes them better.
Totally agree, glad you like it!

Dude, you have to react to Hallelujah by Pentatonix!
I would watch that🤩 He definitely needs to react to PTX. They are probably some of the most talented musicians ever.
I just might, thanks for the suggestion!

Welcome to the SCA and Bardcore
I haveth a query for thee. Dost thou prefer the term bardcore or tavernwave for this genre?
Not sure, first time I heard those terms was yesterday, though bardcore sounds more authentic to me for some reason
Check out "Shchedryk" sung by Eileen.
Does the Hildegard von Blingen fellows have Facebook or Discord group fan page i'd like to join
