I thought it was somewhat out-of-character of X that he was just ready to finish off Skiver if he was going to become a Maverick, its if I remember correctly, the events of X8 are where X is a lot more willing to destroy Mavericks with no hesitation. Also, I imagine that the quest for the parts of the Enigma Cannon was Adapted Out for pacing reasons? One last detail I will mention is that, it was cool that this version of events keeps the detail that the Space Shuttle was actually from the Repliforce. (A detail that is on the japanese version, that for some reason was taken out from the translation.)
@@kuraux56s59 My interpretation of X here was going off of his ending in X4, where he asked Zero to destroy him if he ever became Maverick. It’s a bit of a spoiler to go into why I went that direction, but I’ll say that it was meant to help the inevitable battle on Eurasia have a bit more justification. Part 3 will hopefully help demonstrate what I mean. The parts quest was mostly not adapted because of pacing, and because I couldn’t really see a reason why Iris would be involved with the rest of it. That’s why I had X and Zero go for Skiver’s Orbiter Wing last, an easy way to get past the rest of the quest and keep Iris involved. And thank you! I wanted to keep that in to help justify Skiver’s sacrifice. I had planned him taking over the shuttle since Part 1 came out, but that detail helped.
@@penguincjp I guess this certainly helps to actually do something meaningful with that dialogue from the X4 ending without going to the route of the kinda awful original idea of the Zero series of "Copy X was originally supposed to be the actual X."

@@nakii_nyah5313 Yes, she does. The Maverick Hunter Field Guide mentions that he was a rumored survivor, as well as him being a mercenary. In this version of the story, Red was a mercenary that Repliforce had hired prior to the Repliforce War, which is when him and Iris met. I won’t spoil exactly how they felt about each other, but it is a planned story arc if and when I get to that point.

I'd honestly say x becomes more willing to kill mavericks after x4 specifically after killing magma dragoon and seeing how a reploid can be so cruel
