None of those factors seem lithium specific and in fact are all improved with lithium. The biggest lithium factor to consider is the peak draw for the motor and etc. compared to the BMS. The fuse on the motor is a guideline for BMS capacity but not sufficient because a fuse might allow overload for some time.

Some aren't lithium specific, but are relevant in the decision. The decision is already made for them on the sizing of the original lead acid bank. So 99% of fishermen aren't familiar with sizing a battery bank. Yes, a fuse may allow overload for a time. That was my point. Get a battery that has a continuous output rating above the fuse rating and then you are guaranteeing not to trip the BMS. The 3-5 second peak draw of the battery will far exceed the continuous output rating and also help alleviate any risk of tripping the BMS due to a fuse being slow to trip.

I noticed that MT makes "dual purpose" starting/deep cycle batteries from 100Ah to 190Ah. Then there's the 65Ah described just as a "starting" battery. Isn't it technically a starting/deep cycle (dual purpose) battery just like the others but with less capacity? Just need for starting a 60HP Merc (4 Stroke) and running 2 ten inch Garmins (no live) for 3-4 hours at a time.

Correct. The 65Ah can be used as a deep cycle as well. There is functionally no difference between their deep cycle batteries and their dual purpose/starting batteries except for beefier wiring and a heavier duty BMS that can handle the increased amps that they will see on a regular basis.

How about replacing your RV house battery with lithium? I tried to go down the rabbit hole of figuring it out but it got too frustrating so I gave up

I can do one on that subject at some point. In the meantime, if you want to email me all the info I can try to help. ldsreliance@gmail.com

Had you reviewed the DaranEner NEO2000 power station?

No, I have not. I haven't heard of it. But I looked it up and it looks interesting.

There is one important factor you forgot. According to Minn Kota you cannot exceed 85% of your power/speed rating with lithium or you will damage the brushes in the motor and wear out your trolling motor prematurely.

Do you have a link for that? That is the first I am hearing of this.
