It was nice meeting you at the shelter. I did not expect to see you when I arrived at the shelter after a day of hiking with all this rain! Safe hiking my friend.
YAY, and Thanks to Mom! Glad u got i worked out. Be glad ur not further south, totally devastated from Kentucky, Tennessee and N Carolina got it really rough, all the way to Georgia so be careful and keep an eye on the sky for sure. Great video!
🚶👟👟⛺🌞 big shout out to your stepmom for helping you get that straightened out you stay safe out there we got hammered here in North Carolina our mountains are tore all up everyone please donate to help rebuild our hiking communities stay safe and happy hiking Captain Jack 💯💪🏆🏆🏆 AKA Louisiana mountain man
The night hiking walk-by shots with the headlamp were very cool and creative! FYI, way further south on the A.T. there has been devastating flooding in Hot Springs, NC, the town of Roan Mountain, TN, and other mountain towns including Asheville, NC due to hurricane/tropical storm Helene. It may take months for these towns to recover and rebuild. Assuming you will be continuing southward, you may eventually encounter some of the long term impacts of this storm when you hike through NC/TN.
O.K...so this video is the BEST video for all the skills needed to do a through hike, down to licking the spoon...not a calorie wasted (though you do it to keep the spoon clean...BOTH important). The scene of you shedding a layer was SO educational...that showed us folks how to prepare, and how to execute....But then, the homesickness is real too. and know that you are hiking home, and the "universe" is on your side, and hiking with you as you ar sensitive to what it is telling you...I think that is the message at the beginning, though I would love to know the source for that video bit. your are a a hiking God, and I hope you get others in recovery out there with you to experience what can happen in the back-country and our close encounter with what is really "real".
Awesome meeting you. Good luck on your travels. That bowl was a life saver.

You didn’t let the rain dampen your spirits. You rested, had your meal and kept on hiking . Take care and be safe. Let your instincts guide you ❤️
