I don't play anymore, but when I did, this was my weapon of choice. I have a fast trigger finger and I thought the recoil was very manageable. My friends said too they had an issue with the recoil going too far up, too fast. I never found that to be an issue. Anyone who thinks this gun is bad is using it wrong. It's not mean to be camped with, despite being a one shot. Closer equals faster death with a fast trigger finger. Automatics can be camped with, one shot, stay on the move.
For those watching in the future, Amish made a pretty glaring mistake re: the M14's recoil profile. The M14 doesn't actually have a downwards recoil value. That recoil value that he said goes downwards is actually going upwards. This means that the M14 kicks upwards with every single shot, and the only variable is the intensity of the upwards kick. It kicks with a value of either 40 or 80 upwards. This makes the M14 hilariously predictable in terms of recoil: it just kicks up like a mule every single time. Also, I don't know if this was the result of a buff or not, but the Grip actually increases the M14's centerspeed by 200 up to 1600. Amish is still right when saying that the Grip is an incredibly effective attachment. 1600 centerspeed on a gun that fires at a rate of 625 RPM **at most** makes a significant difference. Finally, the M14 has slightly different body multipliers than described here. It actually deals 50% more damage on a headshot instead of 40% more. This is actually notable, as it means that you get a guaranteed two shot kill at any range with just one headshot. However, this same 50% damage bonus also applies to the neck. So hitting either the head or the neck will get you that additional damage. So not only do you deal more damage on headshots, but you can get that extra damage on neckshots as well, on a gun with big upwards recoil that can naturally drift your aim towards said areas.
Also, I don't know about you guys, but I think the Grenade Launcher actually makes the M14 look pretty cool. Props for using the Team America theme song. I was waiting for it.
i LOVE the irons on the m14. i think the m14's irons are sexy(fyi i think the m1 garand was the best gun of ww2). personally, i warlord it with extended mags and grip. i get a bit Rambo-is sometimes, and you never know when an enemy will pop out while reloading.
I love seeing Amish's videos in my sub box the most out of any other youtuber, BY FAR, and i'm subbed to xJawz, Nanners, Hutch, and all kinds of music channels, but i know when i see an Amish video, it's never going to let down. Keep it up bro.
@Bf2009 1.5 vs. 1.4. Only factors into head shots. You're correct. The reason I didn't bring it up is because I don't think it makes a significant difference.
Now Amish, I feel you left out something, the FAL gets a 1.4 damage multiplier for hitting the head. The M14 gets a 1.5 multiplier for hitting the head AND neck. This means that you get all the damage benefits of a headshot with the M14 by hitting the neck. I guess you could say this increases the size of the area in which you get a multiplier. That could make a difference. In zombies, aim for the head, they die quicker and this means you can use the weapon for later rounds.
I agree pretty much with all that Amish has to say about the M14 here, pretty solid review of a pretty solid weapon. I would like to offer another class loadout that I frequently use with the M14, it's quite effective. I use the M14 with the Grip, Scavenger Pro, Steady Aim Pro, and Marathon (Pro if you have it) The Steady Aim allows you to utilize the M14's effective hip-fire ability to an even greater extent. This allows you to for-go a pistol for your secondary, and can equip a launcher.
You weren't kidding when you said you read what people say, so props to you for including the jam issue. Really, most people would never do that. On a side note, I thought the M14 went from 1400 to 1600 with the grip?
@somethingblue22 I know, but let's be honest here. In a game where zombies are sprinting at you non-stop, how often are actually going to have time to line up that headshot?
@Rediahaz Yes the M1 Garand is considered the grand daddy of the M14. The M1A (Civilian model of the M14) is the little brother (or the little cousin) of the M14.
The AK didn't have very many clones, it is very similar to the Commando though. I liked how on the Extended mag they used the Orange RPK magazine. Now if only the RPK's drum mag was Orange
My choice between the FAL & M14 was based on accuracy VS killstreaks. Since the FAL had dual mags, I could use Hardline and still have power. But with the M14, you had a grip instead. At close range, there really isn't a difference. But the grip allowed a higher fire rate at range, with the small cost of using Scavenger (which really isn't that bad; needed it for the Python's low ammo). Warlording the grip with a sight was godly. Sure, the sniping sucked in Black Ops, but the M14 was AMAZING.
This may sound stupid as hell but I love putting the masterkey shotgun on the m14 cause you know you will have close quarter battles and with the masterkey you can kill up close then switch to the m14 and snipe.
@xxRagingAmishxx I think the only thing you missed is that it has a 1.5x multiplier to the neck unlike the FAL, but I know that it really doesn't matter in the long run. Good review, and keep it up! Also, have you tried it out warlorded with the Grip and IR scope? It's actually not that bad. Closest I'll get to using it as a sniper in this game....
I actually think that the RCXD is kinda great for Domination, you get killed defending the flag and respawn away from it, the enemys taking the flag, you whip out the car and use the boost to get to it extremely fast.
I like both weapons in for different uses, I use the fal with dual mags as an assault weapon and its my standard go-to weapon, while I use my m14 with an acog and grip as a marksman rifle or sniper hunter. Both are great, it just depends on how you use them
1) It's has the highest head multipiers in the game.2) I used it with IR and grip and it becomes the M21 from MW2 but a little me recoil but I got dogs so IR is okay on my opinion.3) it brings back the days of COD4 :)
@xxRagingAmishxx Headshots? There's a perk for that. Also, I agree with what you're saying on weapon clones, but I think they did an OK job with the semi autos. There are significant differences between the two, unlike the commando and AK47. Different hipfire, irons, recoil, and attatchments is pretty much they most they could have done for the semi autos. I mean, what would you have done with these?
@toSTONEiGO They have their uses. In Team Deathmatch they don't make much sense. But when you're playing an objective game and defending an objective, they're wonderful for slowing down and frustrating the enemy team. The RC Car allows you to kill a couple people and send them back to their spawn without having to expose yourself to enemy fire. Lots of people use Spy Plane anyway, so it's not like you're really hurting your team by not using it.
@xxRagingAmishxx At the early rounds they don't sprint, which is where you will be using the M14 anyway. Besides, its not like its too difficult to outrun them anyway (unless you're playing Call of the Dead with the sprinting zombies)
I appreciate the thought developers try to balance out competitive games, but it just never works out in the long run. Everything should be different to occupy different niche and playstyles. Not everyone plays the same way after all so they shouldn't force someone to play that way.
Any chance you can perform a detailed review of the underbarrels at least? You basically say the same thing for them every review, it'd be nice if you could just point people at that video to make your point. Anyways, I like the video. The M14 is easily one of my favorite guns in game. You didn't mention that it's a 2 hit kill at any range if you hit the head just once though, which is one of my favorite parts of the weapon. There's little more satisfying than 2 carefully aimed shots.
Wafflemonger + Saizen in the kill feed like a boss, was a good set of games and I still like the FAL better, this one seems clunky and like the hit detection is off in most gomes...
Glad thing I never liked Rapid Fire, or Famas. And I only use AKs-74u because it was a Kalashinikov. But unbalanced weaponary wasn't a problem in games like World at War. Take the bolt-action rifles for example, The Springfield is for an early substitute for the Kar 98k, the Arisaka is for faster firing and Banzai Charging, and the Mosin Nagant is for Damage and accuracy. The only bad thing about WaW was the MP40, but it was easily outgunned by the Type 100.
you forgot to mention that the headshot multiplier is a 1.5 rather than 1.4. but really that only benefits if stopping power was there and the cod4 and mw3 version (mk14) were able to use this multiplier for 1 shot headshots
Amish? ...I just wanted to ask if a new game comes out like battleifeld 3 or something and if you get it... will do some reviews on the guns on that game? :)
weapon balance in general yes but to the point it got too balanced... besides the famas aug and the ak74u the game is pretty solid in weapon balance but in the end the OP weapons are still rather prevalent even after the patchwork
M14 with masterkey was really good for me. Good long range, better close range.
yes it is
For those watching in the future, Amish made a pretty glaring mistake re: the M14's recoil profile. The M14 doesn't actually have a downwards recoil value. The grip was the best attachment on the m14 by a long shot. The m14 was also better than the fal in almost every way. Tho the fal had dual mags
Also, I don't know about you guys, but I think the Grenade Launcher actually makes the M14 look pretty cool.
Props for using the Team America theme song. I was waiting for it.
"The gun plays like a sniper rifle, it will kill in 2 accurate shots"
Idk if it was intentional, but I found it funny.
i love when i watch your reviews i can know exactly what movie/ tv show you've been watching during the week. =)
i LOVE the irons on the m14. i think the m14's irons are sexy(fyi i think the m1 garand was the best gun of ww2). personally, i warlord it with extended mags and grip. i get a bit Rambo-is sometimes, and you never know when an enemy will pop out while reloading.

@Bf2009 1.5 vs. 1.4. Only factors into head shots. You're correct. The reason I didn't bring it up is because I don't think it makes a significant difference.
This is a battle rifle, not an “assault rifle”.

The fal sucks because it kicks sideways and takes longer to center after recoil. The m14 kicks against the user and up. Also it's more powerful
Amish, I look forward to your reviews every week. They're awesome, keep it up.
I agree pretty much with all that Amish has to say about the M14 here, pretty solid review of a pretty solid weapon. 0:09 Hey look it's Saizen!
I don't even own Blerp Ops anymore, but I still love all your reviews
You weren't kidding when you said you read what people say, so props to you for including the jam issue. Really, most people would never do that.
On a side note, I thought the M14 went from 1400 to 1600 with the grip?
@GujinGod Much appreciated. I haven't found a game I like better than BO. It's not perfect, but I still enjoy it.
Dude you have a good choice of music for every vid :)
Excellent music selection. I always crack a smile when I hear "America F@#$ YEAH!". And well placed, too.
Good video Amish. U never disappoint. Keep up the cool vids!!
Amish videos always come first in my to watch list. Thank you Amish
Awesome review Amish. Though getting episode two in my Amish reviews is now making me imagine Mr. Plinkett from Redlettermedia doing your reviews.
pap m14 in zombies is beastly, it's a two shot headshot on round 18 and you get a lot of ammo
I remember the first gun I used in Black Ops (beside the default classes) was an M14 with ACOG.
My choice between the FAL & M14 was based on accuracy VS killstreaks. Since the FAL had dual mags, I could use Hardline and still have power. But with the M14, you had a grip instead. At close range, there really isn't a difference. i use it with a red dot sight and extended mag, it work great for long range, i use that in the map summit
Your video always makes my day, keep it up
This may sound stupid as hell but I love putting the masterkey shotgun on the m14 cause you know you will have close quarter battles and with the masterkey you can kill up close then switch to the m14 and snipe.

The M14, the man's semi-auto in Black Ops.
1) It's has the highest head multipiers in the game.2) I used it with IR and grip and it becomes the M21 from MW2 but a little me recoil but I got dogs so IR is okay on my opinion.3) it brings back the days of COD4 :)
Here is a tip to be good without a grip. Fire quick 5-round bursts, while pulling down ever so slightly on the trigger.
I actually advise Steady Aim for the M14, the hip fire on it rivals that of the SMGs with the 2 hit kill.
@xxRagingAmishxx Headshots? There's a perk for that. Also, I agree with what you're saying on weapon clones, but I think they did an OK job with the semi autos. I mean, what would you have done with these?
i cant wait fot the famas review i know its gonna be funny as hell!
I like to use steady aim with the m14, makes its hipfire actually pretty good
@Tarvisse AAAAMEN hes videos are so fun to watch plus really love the random short clips
@toSTONEiGO They have their uses.
In Team Deathmatch they don't make much sense. But when you're playing an objective game and defending an objective, they're wonderful for slowing down and frustrating the enemy team. Your reviews make me wanna play Black Ops again. Too bad I own a Playstation...
@TheSkylark56 it's only in domination and HQ(? I think they took hq off nuketown) to give a tiny bit of protection from people when capping it
My favorite Amish gamer on youtube!
@xxRagingAmishxx At the early rounds they don't sprint, which is where you will be using the M14 anyway. Besides, its not like its too difficult to outrun them anyway (unless you're playing Call of the Dead with the sprinting zombies)
so you reviews are boss as hell dude. can't wait fo the mw3 ones...
It jams on me too much
7 años ya de esta joyita 😂
Recuerdo haberlo visto cuando estaba en secundaria casi prepa ❤
I like how the M14/M1 Garand is in every cod.
I love these goofy weapons like the m14 ,stake out, mp5k, m1991, and m60
what are the raise and drop times?
and, when are you doing the AK47 review?
I've never played domination on Nuketown so I'm like "I don't remember that extra cover being there."

The comeback kid
Wafflemonger + Saizen in the kill feed like a boss, was a good set of games and I still like the FAL better, this one seems clunky and like the hit detection is off in most gomes...
Yes, XboxAhoy mentioned something about the 2 in his M14 reviewl
the m14 w/grip+acog=beats snipers, the m14 w/grip+acog is like a mini sniper
Glad thing I never liked Rapid Fire, or Famas. And I only use AKs-74u because it was a Kalashinikov. But unbalanced weaponary wasn't a problem in games like World at War. The only bad thing about WaW was the MP40, but it was easily outgunned by the Type 100.
it was a combo between the MK14 EBR and the M21
I like putting the Suppressor on the M14 in Hardcore.
Nice job as per the always.
verry good music selection amish, not on this videos but all of them
It is in ghost just as a marksman rifle
No. That's the MK14.
lilmoris1 same gun
you forgot to mention that the headshot multiplier is a 1.5 rather than 1.4. but really that only benefits if stopping power was there and the cod4 and mw3 version (mk14) were able to use this multiplier for 1 shot headshots
this and the mpl are my favorite.
my fav gun in all of cod
Man I loved the M14 wish it was in ghost
It is its the mk14 ebr marksman rifle
razorsharp combatant It is only the mark14 is an early version of the m14
Well Done Amish :) Keep up the amazing work
I use the m14 with warlord, flak jacket, and hacker or ninja and attach it with grip and a red dot sight
Call Of Duty Black Ops is 12 years old.
I feel so damn old.
The FAL has weird recoil (up and left), less damage, and slower raise times
Born in the USA is the song in the start of the video. its by Bruce Springstien.
Amish? ...I just wanted to ask if a new game comes out like battleifeld 3 or something and if you get it... will do some reviews on the guns on that game? :)
yay new review!
@12:08 "immigrants F*ck yeah" laughed really hard
Be honest, how many of you thought of resistance when you saw the grenade launcher on the M14?
Grip puts it to 1600 accually
@FordyA29 Someone at treyarch failed at math 101. That's my guess and only logical explanation for the FAMAS/AUG.
I honestly prefer the FAL for some reason not sure what it is. I was never a fan of the M14 since CoD4. In that game i preferred the G3.
weapon balance in general yes but to the point it got too balanced... besides the famas aug and the ak74u the game is pretty solid in weapon balance but in the end the OP weapons are still rather prevalent even after the patchwork
I miss your map reviews
The M14 looks boss in dusty camo
i don't have a modded controller.
When I first used this gun, I shot twice and the gun jammed
He forgot to mention the M14 is the highest damage AR because of the headshot multipliers
is this prequelmemes before prequelmemes? Amish you're the best.
i personally prefer the fal because of the fire rate it seems faster for me and the recoil
@smashballed I love the gun, but if the famas gets a nerf, the AUG must too. An unfortunate truth.
The m14 deals the same damage as other assault rifles. It just is semi-auto and has a smaller mag. Same for the cz75 and cz75 d.w.
Um... No it doesn't
In zombies, yes it does. That's what I was referring to. In multiplayer, it clearly does more damage.
Daniel Randolph oh...
@xxRagingAmishxx hey amish, can you do the g11, its a pretty good gun with amazing smg crosshairs
The funny thing is that the opening song, Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen, is anti-Vietnam war.
someone notices, I know it's 3 months old but thank you I'm not alone.
I watched attack of the clones yesterday
That movie is great
WOW INFARED SCOPE WAS AMAZING
Well on the ps3 in each lobby iv only seen 1-3 with ghost but on xbox iv seen 3-5 with ghost
For some reason I have alot more success with the FAL over the M-14. I really can not figure out why that is though.
