Wow such a pleasant video with nature music i mean those birds in the background.., just simply solid content....thanks a lot for making an awesome content..
You think so? I have a feeling that there are many people creating pines from raw material, kinda sarurated. Thank you though, I appreciate the way you phrased it!
@@ArkefthosBonsai I don't see terribly many folks showing progrssion of "early" bonsai pines. Yes- quite a few folks with very old pines worth thousands, wiring every tiny branch- not so many who are taking this sort of material and making good things.
Hello my friend,i'm glad you managed to save this fantastic black pine and set it in the wonderful literati style. Nature give you a suggestion by dying the lower branches and you had an excellent intuition and obtained a beautiful result. I also love this style because it's very elegant even if it's not easy to achieve. Very good and congratulations!👍👍👍💪
Good morning (it's morning by me now 😊) that's an amazing transformation.. it's great that you were able to save the tree and start it on its way to becoming a fantastic bonsai... Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I love your view/background. All those trees on the mountain side.... Really great video my friend 🎉🎉🎉
Hi, Fotis - I am not a fan of pines much, nor the literati style, but it was fascinating to see how you approached this tree, and the end result looks good. Well done! 👍
We had a relatively mild summer at the garden (in contrast to the lower elevation Greece). No Sahara dust storms and heatwaves this year, which is weird. So trees are all great this season. Thank you Harry!
@harrychristodoulou3782 mainalo mountain, 900m elevation. It was a weird summer. In Athens they suffered one of the worst summers, but here it was mild and many times quite pleasant.
Very beautiful work Fotis 👌 It is always such a pleasure to see you working! Especially with trees like this, since I have a soft spot for literati style pines ❤️ Watching you working and seeing the end result gave me a feeling of natural flow, as if your work was effortless and the end result was just natural! Greetings from Malmö 👋🏻 PS: the filming and editing were as always great and I love the music you had at the end!
I knew you'd like this one. I was thinking that while watering the tree at the end! The moment I heard the song, I said that's it for this video and maybe for a few more in the future! Thank you Alexandre!
Excellent point! Even though I tried to break the symmetry by shortening the visual length of the right lower branch the final design will be done in early summer of 2025. Since it is just a year and a half since I dug it out of the ground, I didn't want to cut any branches. But mid June next year will be the perfect time to do so, as the buds you saw along the stems, will extend and produce good effective new foliage, then I come and shorten the tips drastically. That will strengthen the buds effectively. So, this is going to be a June video. Cheers!
Tree came out great. Love literati style pines. Question u ever see a mugo pines needles start going brown after sudden temperature drops. Looks like they could be drying out. Its almost fall here in the US and im going from 75 80 degree days to 55 50 at night all of a sudden. Will those needles ever go green again? What should i do with the pine? Thanks
Thank you Chris! Mugo can be challenging. What you see now is probably damage done a few months ago, it just takes time to show. So it's not the sudden temperature drop, but rather high summer temperature that did the damage. Furthermore, with mugo you need to control watering. That might also be to much water in some parts of the football as well and it will appear right about now. These needles will not green up again. There is a small chance the buds are alive, but only if you have some needles still green on the branch. Good luck!
The front is very nice, but you forgot to take care of a balance between front and almost bare back. Nevertheless, I wish you success during the next 2 years.
Thank you! It's more full than it looks, but the important thing is that it is full of buds, so many, that pruning will be more important than development of ramification. Cheers!
The finished design was very good!!!!
Thank you I appreciate it!

Superb end result, looks fabulous!
Thank you! Marvelous sounds great! Cheers!
Really enjoyed watching this tree, excellent bid thanks so much
Thank you Nerina! I appreciate it truly.
Really nice work, love how delicate the foliage/branches look in the final result.
Thank you John! The foliage will become shorter in a small pot, helping with the illusion. But that's two years away....
Sosipple6but beautiful thank you for the video keep up the good work my friend
I appreciate it Phillip! Have a great week!
Nice video my friend n thanks for sharing
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Wonderful tree! Great video.
Thank you Dave! Have a great Sunday!
Thanks for being one of the braver few on youtube creating pines...

Great use of this slender elegant material! Thanks for the preview of how bark can develop after ~10 years. 👏🏽 😮😊
Thank you! Austrian black pine bark is different from Japanese black pines or most pines. It flakes differently. But I love it. Cheers!
Wonderfull ❤️
Literati pines are so beautiful,
You made a perfect job Fotis!!!
Thank you for the video
Thank you Fili! Cheers!
Another excellent tree. You really spoil us with those background shots.
Not my intention! I swear! Thank you!
Looks wicked, love it 👊👊
Thank you!
Nice tree, I would like to see ths tree in a future. Congratulation, I admire literati style
Thank you Maria! There's a lot changing for this tree the future besides the pot. Have a great day!

I understand not liking literati, but pines John??? How could you?? Ha ha ha thank you John, have a great week!
@@ArkefthosBonsai 😁I guess I’m a deciduous kind of guy! 😂 To be fair, I’ve never really tried a pine but there is time yet! Have a great week ahead! 👍
@JohnThurlbeck they can be indimidating but they are easy once you get the hang of it all. I really have to up my deciduous game though... Cheers!
That's nice😊
Thank you Graham! Cheers!

Great video my bearded brother
Ha ha ha thank you Joe! I hope California cools down soon, I understand there's a heatwave there now.
Yia sou Fotis, how’s your bonsai trees coping with the hot weather? This tree looks great! Keep up the hard work, bravo re 👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼

You were thinking that I would like this tree while watering in the end? This is so cool, it is an honor! 😎🆒
@alexandros1973 exactly, while I was watering I though, "I'm pretty sure he would like that".
This is touching 🙂😀
Tres joli.
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Tuyệt vời 👍
Thank you!
I realize the tree is still in development, but isn't the foliage mass a bit symmetrical for a bunjin style tree?
