      @ArkefthosBonsai our Ontario, Canada winters can be tough on some Japanese maples so I have typically been sheltering them in my unheated garage over winter. I can still do this if I put the trees in the ground in grow bags or baskets but could mean a new annual tradition of transplanting.

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai 4 месяца назад

      @hyperionhelios190 I don't know how much time you can spend on these, but the time window of transplanting maples is quite wide. For good health, maples need a 60 day period of dormancy. After that you can start repotting and working the roots. Basically from February on and until you see open leaves, you can work on them, as long as you protect worked trees from very low temperatures, like 5 deg below freezing and lower. Plus, trees in the ground might need work every 4 years or so.

    Πολύ καλό ξεκίνημα για το δέντρο. 2 προσπάθειες μεταμόσχευσης ριζών απέτυχαν για μένα και το άφησα ήσυχο. Θα πάρω το δέντρο μου όπως είναι, γιατί είναι αρκετά δύστροπο στη γλάστρα.
    Ίσως μια μικρή συμβουλή για την υγεία του δέντρου
    Δεν ξέρω πώς είναι η ποιότητα του νερού, εδώ το νερό είναι πολύ σκληρό και έχει πολλά άλατα, αλλά από τότε που προσθέτω 30% Kanuma στο υπόστρωμα, η υγεία και η ζωτικότητα είναι πολύ καλύτερη. Δεν έχω δει κανένα θάνατο κλαδιών στο Arakawa μου που φυτεύτηκε σε εξωτερικό χώρο, σε αντίθεση με το δέντρο στη γλάστρα, αλλά όπως είπα, δεν έχω άλλα προβλήματα από τότε που άρχισα να χρησιμοποιώ Kanuma.

      Σε ευχαριστώ! Εδώ φτιάχνω ένα σύστημα επεξεργασίας νερού πριν ποτίζω κάθε φορά. Θα έχω τις τέλειες συνθήκες και παράλληλα λίπανση οπότε θέλω. Και το νερό μου εδώ είναι από βρόχινο οπότε δεν έχω πολλά θέματα. Καλή δύναμη με το δικό σου!

    Still watching the video! But what would you have done, the nemawasi thing, cut the roots around the tree with a spade? or dig it up completely?

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai 4 месяца назад +1

      Excellent question! Sometimes I dig them out completely, lift them, check them and maybe even move them, sometimes just dig around the tree and leave it there. I have a huge pine growing in the garden and as I'm preparing it for digging next year, I will just dig around it, cutting everything that spreads out but leave the tap root alone, until it's time for a pot. Cheers!

    • @ArkefthosBonsai
      @ArkefthosBonsai 4 месяца назад

      Look for a non grafted tree, that's where the value lies Kenneth! I usually write the mix I'm using in the captions - subtitles, it was 50% zeolite, 30% perlite and about 10% organic aggricates. Cheers!
