I started with Paulas Choice a few years ago in trying to fade hyperpigmentation. I have to say it is a great brand. I do love their products. As their prices kept going up I had to look for alternatives. This is a great review and a reminder to me what a great brand it is.
I’ve been using Paula’s Choice for over 12 years and love their products, but I feel like some of their formulas are getting a bit outdated, and the prices are high compared to other brands. Because of this, I’ve switched many products from Paula’s Choice to more affordable alternatives. For instance, I now use Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightening Night Comfort Cream or sometimes CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream, depending on which one is on sale. I mostly use serums from The Ordinary now. However, the one product I still stick with from Paula’s Choice because I can’t find a cheaper alternative with the same texture is the Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser. I haven’t found anything that can replace it, and I absolutely love its texture. Recently, Paula’s Choice launched the 5% Vitamin C Sheer Moisturizer SPF 50, which surprised me with its price. It’s very affordable for an SPF 50 sunscreen combined with 5% Vitamin C. For me, this is a great value compared to buying a good sunscreen and a separate Vitamin C serum for daily use. Plus, it reduces the time needed to apply two steps into one. I’m definitely going to try it soon.
