Run 8 is such a great train sim. It looks like if someone wanted they could just mess with yard work all the time, as there is so much to do. Great video!
As someone who enjoys RCL from time to time, for a job like this, give me an engineer and a brakeman. Hogger obviously has better control than a RCL, plus having 2 guys on the ground, no one needs to ride that much. It’s less work for the Yardmaster since they don’t have to constantly set up RCL zones. Pretty sure these jobs have 1 person crews nowadays.
Oh cool, you work remotes? I was never qualified, and my group was the last hired that wasn't forced to be. Everyone behind had to be. As far as remotes in the bowl, you will never convince me that they are better than an engineer, conductor and brakeman which in my mind is lightyears faster as far as making those moves. Sad how the railroad work force has been pared down to almost nothing compared to what it used to be.
Yessir, for the red and black in Montreal it’s a requirement. For a long time, every yard job was remote, even the yard locals that would have to go on the main in CTC. Apparently it used to cause all sorts of problems on the main, the engines would fall into a full set and you’d never be able to recover the brakes so they would have to call an engineer. The worst part is that this was just outside Montreal Central Station, so all the VIAs, commuters and Amtrak would get blocked plus the 120 which I think is highest priority pig in the Eastern region. Now they started putting engineers on some of these locals but not all of them.
@@Maverick_31 All those problems sound par for the course. Steel City Crane Co. kept one of their big cranes by the bowl in Bham, 24/7, when the RCO jobs came on bc they were derailing so much stuff.
Yeah, back in the day it was 544. They changed those trains around a lot back then. 544 for a while was Waycross to Louisville via Birmingham, then they changed it to Waycross to Cincinnati. I've got some vids of it in like '91 when it was a Waycross to Louisville train.
So the Nashvilles and BIBs were moved around when we re profiled our Q514 and Q646 on the Depot +. 646 for used to be BIB and Q514 was NAS BIR KCS We found that to be a lot for the 514 to handle and had to often run X514s so I looked into how it was blocked today and we made the change to where 646 handled BIR KCS and BIBs and 514 would be just NAS. To make the change simple on the bowl, we swapped NAS and BIB. BIB used to be where NAS now. The split NAS across 3 tracks were probably due to not ready to pull at that point, due to other cars to handle at the time. A754 is a Waycross to Fitz turn and shuttles cars between as well as some work at places like ESI and PGI and PPL A726 works a few jobs south of Fitzgerald. A740 was a symbol I found and elected to use it to work north of Fitzgerald and the ocila spur Hope this helps

Thats 100% true. Any good yard in game could literally be scaled down to a yard simulator.
These rice yard video's are awesome. Definitely neat to see how trains get made up.
Thanks! I'm really glad people enjoy and thats a cool profile pic with the Georgia Central U-Boat!
@spurgaming5400 Thanks. I took that picture in Savannah about 16 years ago.
I bought the new route today. Just configured some spawn points and taking a drive on it. Looks really nice I must say.
Nice, I cant wait to check it out though I'm disappointed that the UP is blank between Fresno and Bakersfield
@@spurgaming5400 Same here I thought that was odd.
