Before buying this sander I would use a rotary sander ruclips.net/user/postUgkx3Pc2vLXfcgM5oIpF1iYcIWyFhHUC-G6v and didn't see the need for a belt sander. Boy was I wrong. this belt sander does the job quickly and gives a professional finish to the wood work.
Yeah, I have one of these and until today it was still going strong and I think the only issue is that I’ve finally worn the motor brushes down! A set of brushes is £4.75 on ebay so it’ll soon be running again!
Easy and cheap fix, and you've probably done it already. In case you haven't, I didn't like how it was done in the video, apparently forcing it on under full tension. Just remove the nut that holds the big tooth wheel on the axle of the roller, and push the axle in, that way it is very easy to first put the belt on, position the big wheel where it should be, and then push the axle back through.

Hello my new friend, I just bought it from the same belt sander. It does a very good job. And you gave life to this very bad tool. I watched a magnificent renovation. Congratulations. Good job. see you all the time. stay healthy and happy. Big greetings.
I’ve got a parkside one that’s basically replicated from the one that’s just been restored and it is a superb copy and works just as well as a Bosch one. It’s helped me prepare a staircase for painting.
Back in December, I bought a PBS75 at a thrift store - they had a huge crate of various power tools that they had apparently tested and deemed unworking, and everything was the same price, which I don't recall exactly. I'm quite sure it was less than 50 DKK (6-7€/$), probably either 25 or 20 Danish Kroner, but could have been as low as 10, I don't remember. I asked the guy if he knew was wrong with it, and if we could try powering it up. It was slightly battered, the front holdin knob was cracked snd had been repaired with duct tape, but spat from a little surface rust on the bottom steel plate it didn't look water damaged. No problem, he plugged it in, and the motor ran fine, but the roller didn't rotate. He then said that the drive belt was probably broken, but that would be easy to replace. Of course I bought it! I took it apart, and sure, the belt was broken. Othen than a little grime and dust everything else looked fine. I could read the part number on the belt, so I looked it up, and found a web shop selling spares. They asked 125 DKK. Plus 39 shipping. Last week I went to the nearest store, but they couldn't get spares, although they did have the current version on a shelf - listed at 899 DKK! Tuesday I went to a different store, no problem, they would be happy to order a spare part for me. She looked it up, got my number and said it would be around 50 kr+25 transport, and it could take a few days, maybe a week. Yesterday I had a call, and I got the belt in the afternoon. 65 kr, less than 8 €/$, all in all. Today I cleaned the tool a little, installed the new drive belt, and assembled everything. Works just perfect. I don't know its age, is say PBS75, 620W, and made in Switzerland. Less than 100 kr - I saved 800 kr compared to a new one (PBS75A I think) that otherwise looks identical. I think that's very nice! :-)
Hi there!! Great restoration. Just subscribed!. Very detailed! Helps me put together same model that a friend canibalized and gave me to throw away. I found some screws, washers and springs hangin' around, but thanks to you I only need to buy the big drive belt-wheel cause -as I said- it was canibalized. Hopefully I find the part. Thank you again!!
Very Nicely Done Mate! Happy to see that you didn't paint the whole thing! I have a tip if you don't mind....... You can use a heat gun to help remove scratches and bring back the color, you can experiment on some old broken plastics.
So glad I found this. I have one from 98 and it was fine until recently. Now it only powers on intermittently. Cleaned it out and it was fine on the interior. Electric motor and wiring were fine. What else might it be?
Many thanks for that video. I had our PBS 75 to repair and have no experience and such things. That video was a great help! ☝☝☝ I be not sure, if I would have managed it, without that. 🙂🙂🙂 Greetings and all the best Christian 🙂🙂🙂
I have the same one... Had to change the brushes and bearings... Also the belt tensioners sliding bearing, melted the plastic... Will replace wit a ballbearing... Good machine... Loud as straight piped V8... :P
Hello I have this sander and the other day it blew a fuse or something? A small electrical pop and it stopped working. Could it be the white suppression filter that need A replacing? Cheers for any info

There’s very few channels that pay as much attention to both reliable functionality and the details of appearance as you do. By the end of 2021 I'll bet you’ll have well over 100k subscribers. Another job very well done and a good reminder of when the name 'Bosch' meant something (Don’t buy their routers). Be honest, how many times did you have to record the roller/wheel part?
Oh yes! I have one bought in '94 . Just changed the steel base for a new one with the graphite sliding plate. Great job with a great tool, cheers!!!
Good job! Old tools are gold! I like old tools, for me they are more quality than today new...
Sensacional o seu trabalho! Gostei demais!

Back when Bosh had built up the reputation for making quality power tools.

@@chrislloyd1505 You'll be good to go for another twenty years maybe longer 👍
Great video. I've found one of this on the junk yard and this video helped me.
Got mine in 98 - been a great tool. Broke the original drive belt just a couple of days ago.

I own one of these, bought new when I was a teenager, around 1985. Great to see how to give it a overhaul. It is still going strong!
I have just acquired a similiar model, so thanks for showing me how to take it apart if I get a problem

What's with the white wire sticking out at the handle.
Top class job it is good to see neglected power tools being brought back to life.
Well done and no shortcuts !
Only thing I'd say is why is the white wire from the trigger switch to the capacitor left outside the casing ?

The 220v model like this is for sale on eBay from South Korea brand new for around $300
Great job , you are really blowing up keep up the good work !!
Good job!
Thank you for showing how to remove the axle of the front roller at 5:32 as I was stupidly trying to use a wrench!
The drive belt looked very loose when you installed it. Buy a new drive belt. Very good video though.

Nice brother, I am one of your followers
Hi, do you know is the strap same sizes like a new model like 75A?
does heating up and dumping those metal pieces blue it?
Again, Nice work. 👏👏👏
Hi. Where did you get your carbon cloth for the base?? It seems hard to get and expensive. Thanks
You left an exposed white wire at the end of the video. It needs to be tucked back in the handle. 🧐

Do you bury those tools to make them look old ;-) This is not an old model, but it looks like its 100 years old
It was made in 1992
Nice! 👍
Very satisfying to watch…..👏👏👏
Amazing so beautiful
you ought to wait for the DW- 40 to work then you can untie the screw easily
10:00 what is this step’s name? What are you doing there?
Amazing!!

your prediction was wrong

Muy Bien....!!! Ji ji j iji
