Great video as always! You’ve mentioned you shoot 400d in 200 iso. When metering (using 400d), do I just enter iso 200 on the lightmeter app and just follow the settings from there? I wanna try shooting it in 200 iso as well
I really recommend pushing these films a stop a try. The underexposure really makes the halations manageable and subdued. In return you get some good levels of saturation and contrast. If you have a good lab (or scan at home) it really makes for some awesome results. I now almost exclusively shoot these pushed and never looked back.
Nice! That's a good strategy. How do you find the difference in grain and overall detail? I tried pushing Cinestill to 1600 before (with a 2 stop push process) and didn't really like the results.
This is one of my go to film grains that makes for good artistic contrast looking for sports cars and street photography. 400 ASA is a great balance for all around results for me and love the editorial vibe! Clean and to the point! 50k is now your vibe! Congrats again!
A great alternative for film stocks, especially the more expensive cinestill, been shooting this quite a lot since its release a year ago, quite satisfied with the results.. but may be i should rate this film to over expose by a stop
love your shots!! great video - definitely of the same mind to shoot more affordable films for the same product. I also love the reflx lab's shipping policy makes it cheaper or more accessible to get from in different places.
Thanks! I haven't used that variant, but I'm pretty certain it would be the same.. so best to get whichever has the best value/availability for you :-)
Hey, I already cut and sleeved the negs a while ago and can't remember if I clipped/tossed the last frame (or if it had that typical bulk-loaded light leak). I can see that I have exactly 36 complete frames though. Hopefully someone who's shot more of it will have an answer for you!
Mostly 1/30 and 1/60. A few even slower or faster. Yeah, I find you can get away without a tripod, especially with a rangefinder and trying to keep steady.
If it hadn't been for this cinestill trademark disaster i would have looked at these films differently. But you can't effin' trademark 800T. And after reading their statement on the situation I'm done with them. Edit: Hadn't been is the correct English, isnt it? Sorry 🤷🏻♂️
Well, the positive is that it is the same washed Vision 3 film that Cinestill sells, and it costs half what Cinestill charges. The negatives are that after being beaten up to remove the remjet and repackaged for 35mm cartridge usage, the film will have some damage (as will Cinsetill products). It will have the C-41 color shift to a green cast. It's 1/3 stop "speed increase" does not come from C-41 processing. It comes from the halation fogging which results from removal of the remjet.
Reflex 800T is great
Fight me CineStill

Thanks! Yeah pretty much just pretend it's actually 200 speed 🙂
@@hashemmcadam thank you so much!

@@pushingfilm lol I just sent you a huge essay on ig.
never tried +2 but +1 stands out as a great option for me day to day.
Do shoot it at 400 with 1 stop push?
@@levivandenberg4223 I meter for 800 and have it pushed a stop.

For sure! Thanks again man 😁
Excuse me sir, 800T is a licensed trademark by cinestil🤓.

😂 I'm in trouble now. Maybe I should trademark the term "pushing film"?

I've been using them for a couple of years and usually happy, I love vision 3 and this is a bit more accessible if you can't dev ecn2.

Thank you!! Yes, they even have have it at some local sellers here in Australia which is nice to see 😁
I tried the Reflx Pro 100 in 120. I never shot Aerocolor before, but it's good
Ive just received 4 rolls of both. Looking forward to testing them out over Christmas!
Great content! I really enjoyed your photos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)
Thanks for watching!
Great video as always :) Good to see suburban Melbourne too. Wondering how they compare with Film Never Die UMI800 in your opinion.
Thanks! I haven't used that variant, but I'm pretty certain it would be the same.. so best to get whichever has the best value/availability for you :-)
That shot of the guy with the instrument case at the train station is so good.
Do they have the last frame cut off or is like any other roll of film? Specifically asking about the Double-X.

Canon EF 40/2.8 is such a great lens 👍👍👍
It really is!
what shutter speeds were you using from 2:30 onwards? You don't need a tripod if the lights from the shops etc are bright enough?
Mostly 1/30 and 1/60. A few even slower or faster. Yeah, I find you can get away without a tripod, especially with a rangefinder and trying to keep steady.

I get what you mean! Yeah that makes perfect sense 👍
