They don't deserve your money. You didn't have to pay them anything. You can switch over to Davinci Resolve or something else. Wondershare has LONG been crooks. They had screwed over those of us who had bought their "Pro" version, which they never really promoted well, and then they stopped updating and developing it, while continually making the standard version better than "FilmoraPro," which they no longer sell. They WILL lose most of their customers over this, unless they change it back to LIFETIME. Watch.

I switched to Filmora from Davinci Resolve over 2 years ago. I thought it looked easier to use, had some nice features and the lifetime license was a no brainer. I'm done with Filmora after they changed the rules after the game was started. I've dusted off my install of Davinci Resolve and 'upgraded' my free copy to V18.1 and plan on staying with it.

What you’re doing to Daniel Batel is 100% petty. Instead of admit you’re wrong you decide do one of the most petty things I ever seen. You decide to go after his videos with DMCA notices that not only feature your product but also praise it. You either ignore that lifetime subscriptions ever existed or you come up with excuse after excuse on why you can’t honour upgrades from calling it an upgrade vs update to “it’s in the fine print” that you changed multiple times over the years. Very petty if you ask me. If you can’t keep a promise don’t make it. Doing DMCA notices on videos you sponsored that also make good press of your product is moronic. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Keep up the good work you’ll be going out of business soon.

Really really disappointed in the company. I’ve used Filmora to edit thousands of videos and recommended it to many other RUclipsrs. No more, I’m out. - from a disgruntled “lifetime” license holder.

Filmora has proven how dishonest and scummy it is. After changing the T&Cs for Lifetime license holders, and trying to pull the wool over our eyes to then bamboozle us with semantics over ‘update and upgrade’, the definitions of which were not in the original T&Cs.
According to the Wayback Machine, Filmora’s own website mentioned that you are able ‘Upgrade to Filmora 12 for Free if you are a lifetime user of Filmora 9 or the earlier version’. But, this has since been deleted from Fimora’s website and Filmora seems keen to hide this then try and blame and bully all of us lifetime users calling us all ‘confused’ then try to sell us this whole update vs upgrade. You know exactly what you’ve done and have tried to hide here. Whoever the genius was in Filmora who came up with this strategy to milk more money should be fired noting how much this has back fired. This whole fiasco was even raised on Linus Tech Tips podcast where they lit your crappy company up.
Filmora, these type of tactics may work where your HQ is loacted but this doesn’t work on us that do not live in that country. I will not be using this software any longer, and have switched to DaVinci Resolve.

After you tried to ruin someone's channel and falsely DMCA them because they were calling you out on your shady marketing practices, I doubt any of us would be paying for your products again.

THIS WORKS GREAT! I was not enlarging my talking head section of the video. Once I figured out how to make that larger and used smart cut-out again, it worked like a breeze!

Copyright striking a video you sponsored - This will go down as the most stupid thing a company has done. I don't think you guys will recover from this considering there are countless alternatives out there to compete with. There's only so much market share you can grab, and you are doing a superb job losing current customers and you definitely won't gain any new customers

What was it exactly in Daniel Batal’s video that you had issues a IMHO dubious copyright strike?
Are you trying to punish him for his recent videos about you ending life time licensing in the way you did?
I hope RUclips decides it’s a malicious copyright strike and your own channel taken down.
I won’t be using Filmora anymore and will learn Davinci Resolve free version.

#StandwithDanielBatal - I am not sure if I am more angry that #Filmora and #Wondershare are take-it-backers or the fact that they tried to buy Daniel's silence. This shows your level of ethics and decency. Why be so greedy? you make money from Lifetime users through annual subscriptions of Filmstock. Fix it - apologize, correct this and make sure it never happens again. I want to know where they are based - maybe a FTC complaint - Shame! Shame! Shame!

Filmora: Know how I got here? I was researching what video software to use. But a trend in the software developer space has risen. This includes game devs. The silence of criticism in all its forms. You're unable to calmly approach any criticism without anger by being silent (Typically a negative reaction.) and taking a destructive stance. (By throwing a warning that could get accounts closed.)
How do I really feel about this? You're soft. Untrustworthy. And not a company that I'll ever consider based on that alone. Have the new year you deserve.
