I've been to at least one concert in pretty much every country in Europe, as well as Mexico City. Since November 2022 alone, I have been to 4 Nightwish concerts, as well as 2 Floor solo concerts.
The keyboard player, composer and bandleader Tuomas, did a whole album based on Scrooge McDuck.....
He's a massive Disney fan.

You are not the first reactor to mention Floor as a Disney princess. Floor has commented she would love to, but has heard Disney is not very kind to the vocalists they hire.
Tuomas (keys), the main composer for the music and lyrics for Nightwish is a big Disney fan, as well as a fan of movie soundtracks. Only the tip of the iceberg my friend. So much more to experience. I saw Nightwish for the first time last May and it was incredible. I have witnessed hundreds of concerts, including most of the legends in rock and metal. There is something magical about Nightwish with Floor out front. Her stage presence, charisma, passion for singing, as well as her amazing vocal ability is beyond compare. Hope to see you again very soon.
Floor has actually done a few Disney covers during the Covid period that are well worth a listen to: Let It Go and Into the Unknown.
I travel from Australia to Japan to see NW in March this year at Loud Park Festival I am so pleased I made the effort to go as they now have taken a break from touring, it was fantastic and worth every penny and effort to get there. Floor is the most mesmerising person on stage her facial expressions tell the story along with her hands once seen never forgotten amazing performer
Good to see you back. You're in for a treat if you keep goin'. I get you're Disney idea and I could agree if Disney hadn't turned into what it is today. That's a darn shame because you're right, a kick ass Nightwish song having a part in what we all knew as Disney would have been awesome.

The choir parts are a real choir - they work with the London City Adult and children's choirs for their albums, as well as members of the London Philharmonic orchestra for the orchestrations. 😊
LoL about the Disney reference - Floors' daughter was driving her crazy singing the Frozen song all the time, so Floor did a cover during lockdown on her RUclips channel. You should react to it. 😊 Floor can sing anything.
Not just Storytime..a whole concert for 2013 is excelent..from start to end..whole concert show amazing talent of Floor..just look fan's in first line..they simply go in trans..how they enjoy in concert..Tarja and Anetta is good singers but here Floor is really Valkyrie Queen..she absolutly deserve that name..
Hello again, Strongdad. Nightwish Army Phoenix subscriber here. Yes. You nailed it. This is the sum of all of our childhood stories. Nightwish with our wonderful Floor is perfection incarnate. Carol, my lovely wife of 42 years, and I got to travel from Phoenix to see them live at the historic Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on May 18, 2022. What an incredible show from start to finish. This was a terrific reaction. Thank you and keep the reactions to these amazing Nightwish live performances coming.

Year ago I saw Nightwish here on Knotfest/Finland as first days last band. Ofcourse Slipknot was second days last band. What amazing 2 days.

So, I've known Nighwish for quite some years. At least since 2011. I met a girl online in 2012 who was also into Nighwish and we were planning to move to Finland. I did move to Finland, she stayed in UK to study.
In 2020 I bought a ticket to a festival Nightwish was supposed to play, but due to COVID that festival kept being postponed. In summer 2021 I bought a ticket to a Nightwish concert in Helsinki, but that also got postponed.
I bought another festival ticket for summer 2022 where Nightwish was supposed to play.
Eventually things started moving, but just before I would ever experience Nightwish live for the first time in my life, after over 10 years of love for Nightwish and almost 10 years of relationship with a girl where Nightwish was a big part of it... we broke up... Like 3 weeks before the first Nightwish concert.
I ended up seeing them 3 times in 2022.. without her, and also... sadly... without Marko as a vocalist and bass player. It was heart-breaking... But I still love Nightwish. Forever.
Floor does head bang, but here she is Windmilling(Because of the 360 degree revolution and also because Floor is Dutch). Tuomas is a big fan of Disney and there are references thru out many of his lyrics. On a side note, there is a rumor that The Warning has been invited to preform at Wacken Open Air Festival 2024.

I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here.
She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter and.....? ( Freja & ...? )
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she cool singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

Sad the bass player left - he sings too and is a great complement to Floor's vocals and an awesome singer in his own right.
I saw them live last november during the Human Nature world tour, in Amsterdam where Floor did the Phantom duet with Henk Poort. The whole show would have been outragiously good, but that extra song was the icing on the cake…
I've seen them three times now. The last time Vaasa festival 17.6.2023. And I have to say it was amazing gig! Considering that Floor was still pregnant.
MANY of the Nightwish Army have called on Disney to bring Floor in, but more have asked for her to be the next James Bond movie singer.

Tuomas is a huge fan of scrooge Mc duck and did a side project . A life time of Adventure is a great video he got to meet the illustrator!

I saw them in June in Gelchenkirchen.
Floor was 6 month pregnent but still put on a fantastic show.
I will never forget that night, they ara amazing.
There is one other musician who is yet to make an appearance as many of the songs at the concert were written during the era of the very operatic first singer Tarja Turunen and some during period of second poppy singer Anette Olzon. He is British multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley who becomes more evident in later concerts on a variety of wind and stringed instruments. If you want something heavier at this concert try Romanticide or Song of Myself.
Storytime was the song that first introduced me to Nightwish and the beautiful Floor Jansen.

Song Storytime is from album Imaginaerum. Songs on the album has links to the movie Imaginearum by Nightwish and story of the movie.
And about Disney... Well Tuomas made soundtrack for Disney comic novel book The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. He even got Don Rosa to draw album cover for the album Music Inspired By The Life And Times Of Scrooge.

This is my favorite song although i have never NOT liked any of their songs. Dark Chest of Wonders has the same vibe and a great opener here.

Since you've now experienced two songs from the legendary Wacken 2013 show, I suggest you start with the show opener (Dark Chest of Wonders) and react to ALL of the 15 songs on their set for that show. They are ALL amazing! This concert is legendary...and the best part is,. they recorded it for a DVD so it was recorded in VERY high quality.
Disney movies and music are some of Tuomas' biggest influences. You are spot on.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!!
Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bullwhip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straightforward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.
So, you mentioned Disney....
Well, Floor did covers not one but two Frozen songs !!! And Metal Mozart (Tuomas Holopainen) did a whole album dedicated to Scrooge McDuck !!!!

Floor has covered two Disney songs during lockdown for her daughter, "Let It Go" from the movie 'Frozen', and "Into The Unknown" from the movie 'Frozen II', both in a Metal style (of course)
I have only seen the band once back in 2004, and that was when Tarja was the vocalist. They stayed in the same hotel as I did so I met them in the bar. Nice bunch of guys

Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting. Yes i saw them at Wembley. I do think Nightwish is slowly coming to the end. My prediction, new album coming soon then another album and farewell tour, hopefully we will see all Nightwish members past and present perform. Maybe im wrong , Time will tell,.

As for the talented Tuomas the keyboard player who writes 90% Of Nightwish songs do check out Tuomas song A lifetime of Adventure. Here you see one of the London orchestra's he works with the backing tracks for Nightwish and The living artist of Scrooge mc duck Don Rosa. Tuomas is a fan of Scrooge and Disney. The greatest performance of this song, with one of the greatest chorus ever written, by one of the greatest singers I have ever heard. In my opinion anyway. Floor is amazing, as is Nightwish as a whole, but that voice, power, range, tone, breath control combined with stage presence and charisma. What does she even lack? At this point I'm really just being rhetorical lol.
Those closed captions on that specific video suck each time as I can't stand to caption hums. In addition they are not faultless, e.g. the refrain starts with "Neverland, Innocence" each time and not with "Innocence"...maybe links on circulating lists, shall be replaced by the same clip, e.g. from Nightwish' official YT channel.

I wouldn't call it "too progressive" for Disney to include NW into some movie's soundtrack - I'd call it "too risky" or "not mainstream enough", which seems to be the only thing that counts currently since they're pretty much just a greedy money making machine at this point... 😢
