Think you got your terms mixed up there. Power Axe is where you just have your shield charged up in axe mode. Savage Axe mode is the buzz saw. Always has been.
@@sourilion “savage axe slash” is an attack that activates “power axe mode”. The powered up axe in pre world is referred to as “elemental boost”. Always has been. Insisting you’re correct about something when it takes 2 minutes to look it up is the deepest form of ignorance.
My problem with charge blade changes is they kinda took away the player’s choice of what playstyle people wanna play. In world/rise u got to pick what playstyle u wanted SAED spam or SA, but now they force the player to pretty much play SA exclusively then when u can throw some SAED in when u can
7:55 I wish some of these youtubers will stop spreading misinformation about Counter SAED. You can do Counter SAED after regular guard! It doesn't have to be a Guard Point or Perfect Guard at all. In fact, in Wilds, it seems you can still do that even after receiving big knockback.
As someone who prefers the sword&shield form of the weapon with occasional axe form usage and enjoys focusing on element builds I hope that they make SAED gameplay bit better since currently the axe mode seems like mandatory to do well on the weapon and I don't play a weapon with huge shield to be essentially two handed hammer 90% of the time because it's optimal. The savage axe never felt too good for me, ton of tiny hits never reaches same amount of dopamine as big elemental blasts.
Just because something is "the meta" or the technically optimal way to maximize DPS doesn't meant other playstyles are no longer viable. Monster hunter isn't a toxic competitive online game, you have the freedom to play the way you enjoy.
I also like sead play from world I still played like that in beta, and I would not listen too much to "they want us to use savage axe more" thjis all depends on your build. Even world had savage axe builds which focused more on weak spots and sharpness and sead builds focused on other stats. Wilds will also have builds that make sead powerful. All this meta talk is nonsense as its just the beta we have played with no build potential.
@@Orillion123456 It's basically impossible to do 5 phial SAED now without a perfect counter, which are unreliable at best in co-op (I mostly play with others), I need to waste 1-2 phials to do the AED combo first every time I want to do a SAED. I'm personally not too worried of DPS since I play with friends, but it's a QoL matter for me really.
@@ltlsWhatltIs Matter of taste really. I prefer to play in the sword and shield mode and be in axe for short bursts. The current direction is 90% axe 10% sword mode. If I wanted that I'd play greatsword.
Im just sad that the SAED explosions are about half the size of explosions in previous games and the special effects accompanying them make them feel less impactful. Gone are the days when my friends ask “who just called down a thunderstorm on the monster”.
We haven’t seen how elemental discharge looks it will more likely then not have the spread blast. Impact has always been either stack as one big explosion(before world) or since world it’s a straight line.
Something to remember about SAED style CB. It has a lot of skill (decorations) requirements to make it feel good. Focus (World) or Load Shells (Rise) was needed to make charging Phials faster. Focus 3 let get red phials from a Charged Double Slash + Roundslash, Load Shells 2 let you get full phials from yellow phials. When you're trying to output SAED's as often as possible, spending less time charging them was important. Artillery is another skill that increases phial dmg. Since we don't get the Artillery skill in the Beta, it's just more efficient to attack with Savage/Power Axe. You'll see this with a lot of new players in World picking up CB. SAED is flashy and all, but SavAxe is much more accessible and easier to build towards early on compared to SAED. Additionally, Magazine (World) gives an additional phial, which not only increased the duration of the Charged Shield, it's an extra explosion for SAED, or extra 30s duration of SavAxe. Unfortunately, we didn't get this for Rise, so the SAED playstyle was nerfed one explosion. With that in mind, if Wilds plans on bringing those skills back, we're likely to see CB players start out with a more Axe focused gameplay until we can unlock those decos/skills. Depending on the numbers, SAED can still be a strong option in a fight. However, considering the conditions to activate SAED (from a Block or after AED), it might be less SAED spam and more of a counter attack move. My guess, we'll get Artillery, Load Shells (from Rise), Magazine (from World). All these skills benefit both CB and GL (although Magazine might double up with Load Shells for GL), and Load Shells is probably better (IMO) than Focus when it comes to charging phials. Unless they merge Magazine and Load Shells and let Load Shells also give CB and extra phial. Still, once we get Skills, we'll be able to Charge -> Overcharge phials much faster. Regardless, I do think the changes will push for more balanced gameplay between Sword and Axe mode, which I think is a good thing. I would be interested in seeing how Artillery affects phial dmg for CB SavAxe mode because the values from World/Rise made them negligible to have. However, you can't pump them too hard via the decos because that would also affect GL. Element Discharge still procs phial dmg, so if Artillery or phial dmg scales better, SAED will also benefit.
100% agree, as a charge blade main. I always prefer SAED sword and shield style over the axe mode so the changes in the Beta did not feel great to me. I hope it gets more balanced in the final game. And I definetly agree that it may have felt that way due to a lack of skills. I felt like the transformation times and guard point times were different from what I am use to in world and rise as well. Another skill they introduced in Rise was the Morph skill that increased transformation speed for switch axe and charge blade. I never ran the skill in my rise builds because it was never necessary to me, charge blade transform speed was fast enough on default and I didn't want to mess up my timing on guard points. But with how much slower it felt in the Beta I can definetly see that they are bringing that skill into Wilds and making it more impactful. But we will have to see when the full game comes out. I don't like the nerf to my favorite playstyle but i am still going to main charge blade. Just hope they balance it more so it feels better in the final release.
Disagree. Elemental phials were always good, regardless of decos. And it doesn't matter if something does more damage. SAED CB is more fun and is what CB users expect to use since its existence. Pressing circle over and over is boring.
In reality power axe mode is strong only in solo because you got all the wounds for you but in multiplayer you better be good with those perfect guard because ppl will take the wounds.
CB has never felt better to me than it did in Wilds. I like that they’re going away from the mindless SAED spam, and that you now have super flashy combos leading up to it that combined will out damage just regular SAED spam. Also, the complaint I’m seeing about possibly missing a phial here of there because of how the new SAED hitbox works with phials makes no sense to me. How many times did we completely miss an SAED and all phials in world/iceborne because the monster moved a half an inch? Focus mode fixed that perfectly.
Been using charge blade almost exclusively for a long time now, and honestly I don’t like it in wilds. Perfect guard feels so unnatural when charge blade has always been about guard points. It’s basically another counter and one of your only 2 ways to go into savage axe mode. The other (which is focus attacks) is even worse since you won’t always have wounds up and you won’t always be the one popping them in multiplayer. And no playing by yourself is not an excuse for that. But what makes me even more frustrated is the fact that even with these new awkward methods of activating savage axe mode is the fact that it’s **STILL** a more viable option than SAED. And no, skills are not an excuse because for every skill that benefits elemental discharges there will also be a skill that benefits raw damage savage axe mode. They should be on equal footing so that I can pick playstyles without being terribly unoptimized. Also, SAED needing to come after AED is so unnecessary. It feels like a step backwards when previously I could input which attack I wanted to use at will. I definitely liked world and rise chargeblade better. It’s very different now and it’s one issue I really wasn’t expecting from this game.
@@babaganoush9237 same! Plus with the back spin hit it helps when you go for a SAED thinking you got space or time and being wrong instead of just dodging out I can spin it quickly back for more dps and it doesn’t feel wasted!
I love the new savage axe rotations and buffs but I also liked to SAED when given opportunities. Also after using SAED and it going under a monsters leg again i didnt touch it for most of the demo. If anything i would love gaurd points to also lead into savage axe cause perfect gaurding seems better then gaurd pointing and let overcharged phial make the explosions for SAED bigger to hit monsters instead of it going under legs and missing.
You can still do the Unga Bunga playstyle. You have to do it with guarding. SAED spam becoming more of a counter playstyle. Like in Rise/Sunbreak (spam Counter Peak Performance and SAED). I think that's also what Capcom wants. But I agree, sad about the SAED change.
@jiggynegus7541 i didn't tell anyone how to play a weapon. I said the mechanics of a weapon should be consistent with its playstyle and suggested other weapons with the playstyle they wanted to use. Not my problem if you want to actively work against the mechanics of a weapon. I think it's incredibly stupid, but it isn't my problem.
Bow video summed up (I know it's not yet out but it's as easy as CB): 1: ready tracer arrow 2: use pierce/thousand dragons to open up as many wounds possible 3: arrow rain (try to place as many markers on the monster) 4-ready another tracer (needs to be wherever there is NOT a wound) 5- use the power coating 6-use focus strike(it'll target the markers and all the wounds shown in the aiming circle) 7: all wounds as well as markers will inflict damage (around 60 points from what I saw in the beta when destroyed, around 20 on hit and 15-30 on marker explosion) Repeat all while using short range, poison or other coatings and doing perfect evade to refill coatings.
Idea: When using an Overcharged Phial, you spend the Overcharge before you spend the base Phial charge for the phial attacks and Discharges (with SAED having a max cost of 5 total between overcharge and base). This makes it so you can spend the overcharged phials over time and build them back up for when you've got a big window to unload.
I'd love to see SAED gain the offset attribute as way to trade phials for cancelling out a monster's strong attack when you're in a vulnerable position
One thing I haven’t seen anyone bring up. Charge blade should live in focus mode. The toggle is amazing for if. Not only for aiming.. but the focus attack, not only does it open spots for wounds easier it makes a noise where a wound will happen when you hit it. But the reticle will change when you are in range of the focus attack and the distance almost triples vs if you just use it with no monster in front of you. I didn’t notice until 20 hours of using it.
Here's the feedback I'll give for the Charge Blade: 1. Change the activation of the Powered Sword Mode (PSM) to dump all the charged phials into sword, which instead of providing the time to prolong the PSM, grant it with the damage boost that depends on the consumed phial count (also consider with the overcharged phials). When the new set of charged phials are being used for the PSM activation, they’ll take over the damage the PSM currently deals with and reset the timer of it. Also, give the ability to charge slightly faster with the PSM in order to combat with the fixed timer of the PSM itself. 2. Give at least an active approach to activate Savage Axe Mode (SAM), and its prolonged time mechanics should use the one in World Iceborne:consuming charged phials to keep the mode active. 3. In order to match with the button layout of the preparation animation of Amped Element Discharge (AED) / Super Amped Element Discharge (SAED), change the button layout after Charge Phials: Holding ‘O(B)’ to perform the Savage Axe Slash (use the Axe: Condensed Spinning Slash from Rise), Press ‘R2(RT)’ to perform Shield: Elemental Boost. 4. Change the button layout after Power Clash: Press ‘Δ(Y)’ to perform Sword: Condensed Element Slash (Require powered shield to activate PSM) Press ‘RT’ to perform Savage Axe Slash (Require powered shield and charged phials to activate SAM) 5. Make all the follow up moves from Guard, Guard Point and Perfect Guard identical to each other: Press ‘Δ(Y)’ for Sword: Condensed Element Slash (Need powered shield to activate PSM) Press ‘RT’ for Sword: Morph Slash Press ‘O(B)’ for Savage Axe Slash (Except for Perfect Guard, powered shield and charged phials are required for activating SAM) Press “O(B) +Δ(Y)” for AED (Need powered shield for SAED) 6. Perfect Guard with Powered Shield will trigger Ultra Amped Element Discharge (UAED), which increases the overall damage just like Rise did. 7. Performing either SAED or UAED will fully drop the powered shield, but its base damage, phial damage and stun damage (for impact phials) should heavily increase to match the trade-off of losing the powered shield. 8. Give the ability to use SAED after the Sword: Shield Thrust when the shield is powered up.
Not sure if you mentioned it but when you enter power axe mode by pressing triangle off a clash or perfect guard you can still hold it and get the extra chain saw hits
Perhaps the difference will be that Savage Axe uses phials better with Impact Phials, while SAED will prove better with Elemental Phials? It would give the different Phial versions a better identify, with one being better for raw damage, while the other is better for elemental/status.
Just wanna point out cause I don’t see it being commented but don’t sleep on overcharging your phials…. When they are overcharged in power axe mode( or savage axe mode IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU CALL IT WE KNOW WHAT WERE TALKING ABOUT🙄) the phials don’t cost anything for power swings, just for AED(half a phial) and SAED(all phials). You can essentially loop your o combo with savage axe slashes for free for 2 minutes throwing in a AED for half a phial cost. That’s huge especially when we get skills like Burst/chain attack and the different affinity boosting skills. The changes in wilds are awesome. It feels like you’re not going to be forced to pick between styles and just use all of them efficiently as needed. I’m super excited for the full game.
@@lewisqb12 This video also overlooked that in the beta, we don't have a proper build yet. Imagine playing Impact CB with SAED style in World or Rise without having Artillery. That's what this beta is. And the damage isn't really that bad, even without Artillery.
@@herusetiawan5399 exactly!!! In the beta I felt very comfortable playing the SAED and savage axe styles as situational tools rather then a focus and that’s when we have no skills. When we get artillery, guard/offensive guard, burst/chain crit, or WEX skills it’s gonna just be amazing and you can spec your build for either as you see fit. It is gonna be fine and I’m so excited!!!
With the adjustments to armor skills and more offensive skills being on the weapons, I wouldnt be surprised if some charge blades are more focused around SAED. Or skills that can be added to suit one olaystyle or another.
Few things i don't like in this version of CB: 1. Hold to buzzsaw. It's annoying especially if you need to aim with focus mode. 2. Perfect block. I want GP to be the main blocking method of CB. We charge our shield and we GP for extra guard but perfect blocking neglects all that. 3. We need GP for axe mode. Counter morph slash was so good in Rise. Maybe even ready stance? For SAED spam, we did all that in Rise. It's getting boring. So I'm not really concerned about it being overshadowed. But if they include axe hopper and the ability to discharge all phials in the air then that's spicy!
I'm behind you for the GP in axe mode. That is a game changer for axe mode considering how the pizza cutter works now. Direct SAED should be allowed in the first place like in MHWI which you had the options to either burst all the phials or just a jab with AED. Full phials SAED on a large size monster like namielle or even fatalis always feels so good.
I always wanted to Git Gud with charge blade and I’m loving it. Think I’m gonna replay World again just to play until Wilds just so I’m more efficient with it
nah man, there are so many small changes between wilds and worlds CB that messes with your muscle memory that i think its better to learn it in wilds because it took me a few hours to adjust to the wilds CB, then i went back to world after the beta and I was doing all the wrong moves.
@@babaganoush9237 I disagree. World is not that different from wilds. Im playing world again all the way to fatalis just to hold me over. The only change that really matters is that its easier to power shield in wilds, and spam the axe VS SAED. And just remember focus mode exists. Thats literally it.
If SAED remains as it is experienced during the beta, then I'm switching to SnS, HH, or Gun lance. I mained CB in World and SAEDs are life and how they're implemented in Wilds beta wasn't that appealing. My biggest hang up is having to do an AED before an SAED. Remove the required AED before SAED and I'm back on team CB forever.
Wilds (hehe) opinion here, but I think they should have had SAED be a charged version of the AED. You hold the button combo down for the wind-up animation to activate it.
If they bring back load shells and make it to where red phials get you to overcharged phials instantly then it will be no problem overcharging them all the time.
Never really cared for savage axe as a charge blade main just being honest I always thought it looked stupid and they should’ve combined accel axe with cb
They should give saed a follow up. So you would double charge the phails then the first saed would do bonus damage then your would follow up with -energyblade- a faster normal damage saed.
Just out of curiosity, I've watched a whole bunch of CB videos since wilds beta ended and not a single person has so much as mentioned the axe fade slash attacks, why is that? I mean they're slow as shit, but I'm sure someone will find a use for them, the back step is probably the most useful of the 3 if I had to guess. Unfortunately my games performance was not great on my 8 year old PC so I didn't feel like testing much stuff, plus inputs got eaten a lot because of the stuttering. I really enjoy charged sword playstyle of charge blade, just because you're a wall similar to lance, have fairly good mobility between the decent run speed, hops, and sliding slashes, and also have the axe modes to punish. Charged sword seems like its going to fall way behind axe with all the new stuff they added for axe modes though, I wouldn't mind seeing a slight boost to sword attacks while charged beyond just the extra phial (half damage I think?) on hit. One thing I didn't think to test was checking the damage on overcharged phials to see if it did anything for the charged sword phials, I'm going to assume not? But that would synergize well with the overall kit since it's pretty easy to keep overcharging phials while you wait for a big enough opening to go full leatherface on the monster. I plan on going full power elemental charged sword in Wilds, I did it on a fresh playthrough in Iceborne when I picked it up this year and it was a lot of fun, honestly more fun than just spamming (S)AED's all the time. It's the reason why I'll never play another weapon, so many ways to play 1 weapon.
calling perfect guard the most reliable way to access this new mode is insane because it requires perfect timing something that is inherently inconsistent that MOST people will miss 90% of the time. I used CB in world it was my first weapon since world was my first game
I absolutely loved Wilds CB because it encouraged more use of AED in more combos then just SAED spam so now I can choose to keep swinging the weapon or decide to end it with a SAED And GU CB AED spam and Valor style has always been my favorite play style of CB and Wilds just combines both of those
Glad to see someone else mention GU Valor CB. It was my favorite as well. The AED loop was so satisfying to land, especially when you added the extra phials.
I don't mind the new combos with Charge Blade, but I'm not a huge fan of the new Element Discharge I. The big swing moves you a bit too much and I wish it was more stationary like the old side chop.
Nah wilds CB is "okay" its not about how good the current stuff is its about how its now conditional. Ive missed so many openings for SAEDs and in a party trying to proc "savage axe" is just a lil bit horrendous.
Focus mode savage axe alows lateral movement mid attack and that is huge. It almost covers the same distance as a roll. Meaning you no longer need the roll reposition you can just keep swinging. As for SAED, I gave up on it back in world so it is hardly a loss. Also: RIP the only weapon with a launching upswing that didn't get it converted into an offset.
My Savage axe brethren we are free from Rise Charge blade, no longer will we be smacked out of our powered state no longer will we lose it from sheathing, no longer will endure a long animation only for the monster to treat a chainsaw as mosquito bite, World's heavy feeling is back.
Love the changes. CB is so technical and has a crazy skill ceiling that I think is raised even higher with these changes while still making it accessible to players who haven't played it before. I'm glad SAED has been adjusted to a punish move rather than just whacking it with the sword then bursting. I wouldn't recommend the weapon to new players (hell I'm still learning it I still don't know my guard points and timing by heart) but I wouldn't recommend it to new players before either which I think is fine a game lile MH needs a few complicated weapons. Besides you can still grind your teeth on it if you want to as a new player just know you'll have a steeper hill to climb getting into the game.
I don’t really know why people are so pressed. You can easily play SAED and it will still be effective. Just because your kill (MIGHT) be 30-60 seconds longer doesn’t mean they ruined it. It’s supposed to be a Swiss Army knife. It’s perfect that it has multiple viable playstyles.
SAED got nerfed in damage, will always miss one vial, and the animation is different such that it doesn't have the impact of the original animation in world. Someone made a video comparing the differences and it's night and day. They made the SAED worse.
What I love about Wilds' Charge Blade is that they increased the power, effectiveness, and versatility of the weapon, but in a way that makes you play better and raises the skill ceiling (unlike, say, Long Sword). Yes, you have more ways to enter Savage Axe, but it's not actually easier than in World where you could enter it whenever as long as Elemental Boost was on. Now, you have to engage with the weapon's other - as well as general gameplay - mechanics to achieve that, like perfect guard/guard point, Focus Strike, mounting, and power clash, with the sheer number of options giving each player the choice of how they'd prefer to go about it. Same for SAED. There's either the longer way with more commitment to it or the shorter route that requires more skill. I'm all for this because SAED spam WAS a thing. It was explosive fun, don't get me wrong, but this makes you work for it a bit more, which is personally appreciated. The additional benefit of it no longer ending Savage Axe is highly appreciated, as well. It's still strong and super fun, and I personally think most people don't care nearly as much about meta and speedrun strats as many who actively participate in such things think they do. I certainly don't, and I main this weapon. Overcharging your phials is an absolutely brilliant mechanic. Axe mode being mobility-impaired and commitment-heavy means it's not ideal to use all the time, so it's often better to stay in Sword mode. Except, constantly attacking put you in danger of overcharging the blade and having it bounce off the monster. The only thing to do was to charge your phials even when they were full, which kinda made you feel a bit like an idiot standing there doing nothing of benefit. This actually makes that problem (mostly) go away. Furthermore, skills like Artillery will be more attractive since they scale damage by percentage. That is, the bigger the base numbers, the bigger the increase. I can agree that Overcharge damage on SAED should be closer to regular axe swings, though. It would give players more incentive to reach SAED, especially via perfect guard. Wilds CB, to me, represents the ideal way to upgrade a weapon. Add more stuff and shift things in a way that encourages engaging with all of the weapon's mechanics.
They need to nerf ED 2 and buff AED and follow up. Based on the demo the most effective way to use CB is just dodge roll an attack and ED 1 and ED 2. There is no reason to block or counter anything except to activate power axe that one time at the start of the fight. AED and follow up are outclassed by ED 2 and the best way to access ED 2 is dodge roll into ED 1. In the earlier demos from the events, not the beta, ED 2 phials only did 17 damage and AED and follow up did 30 (with over charge). They need to revert back to this in terms of damage or, again, ED 2 outclasses.
RIP SAED. Say whatever you want, Wilds has killed the identity of the Charge Blade. It's an entirely different weapon now. It's not a big bursty weapon, it's now a spammy weapon.
SAED is literally peak spam? Least we have more then one move to spam now lmao (saed spam is the weapons identity) don't make me laugh that was just how you saw the weapon. As a greatsword you had to store the TCS of xD
Ya I get what ur saying but I think it’s to hold phials more rather than build up and empty. Idk I was never good with thr weapon but always wanted to Git Gud with it lol u know what I mean. Either way I’m going back to World again to get better with it
Homie as a CB main, the hell are you smoking? People spammed SAED. This literally updated the kit so people would stop the SAED spam. Like... you can still saed outta guard points, the philes can now overclock so SAED DOES MORE DAMAGE. And if you know how to use CB, you can still spam SAED anyway
I don't enjoy what they removed from the Charge Blade and overall I don't feel the same enjoyment I used as in World. Being a Charge Blade main user, I'm considering not buying Wilds.
it's ridiculous you don't want to give the game a chance because your favorite what ever about the CB is gone. Weapons adapt with every generation and the meta isnt anywhere near confirmed. As a CB Main with 2000+ hrs in Worldbourne/Risebreak together. The changes strips the charged blade of its identity. Yeah the bowguns didn't feel fun, HBG was tolerable but not great. Poor lance, that pathetic rework, that was at the cost of nerfing the ability to guard right way after an attack, really achieved nothing. S&S was one of the 3 weapons I didn't even bother with, along with GS and bow do to personal tastes. IG's rework is bad, not just the lack of air combos but the controls on PS5 are horrible. The claw is required to play it like you use to but, that's not even the worst of it, charging the kinsect to gather more than one extract is even worse fo controls. Not to mention that your big finisher that's suppose to get extracts back for you really doens't do that, most of the time. IG is a mess right now. HH being this low is sad, it was really fun, even if the song list wasn't great and one of them was entirely useless, do to not having a single fire monster in the beta. For me, hammer and SA were the most improved weapons. They are always middle of pack for me, fun but not really favorites. Wilds seams to be changing that. DB's reworks, while interesting felt a little off but that could change with more time to mess with them. With how OP it always is, I'm shocked LS isn't higher. LS was fun enough, nice to loose the ball and chain it had in Rise solely to justify silk binds. I'm shocked GL is that high but it's really fun in Wilds. CB was a lot of fun, being able to ignore some of the new stuff, if you wanted was nice. Power axe mode was alright but, with how easy it is to turn on via perfect guards, wounds are totall optional. It's not a shock to me that bow and GS losing their mechanics makes them popular, they were already over tuned but now there's no cost to it anymore. Bow doesn't even have to aim or maanage stamina so its core 2 mechanics are replaced with this lame dodge spam crap. 7:10 He keeps getting this wrong, perfect guards/gaurd points are not needed to get the SAED shortcut.
So its now spam axe and somehow its magically a bad weapon? Smh....
World is just spam SAED so how is that any better?
I mean, artillery is already in some sets in the demo, but even then, the MVs dont seem to favor SAED over axe mode that much tbh
@@TheGWALReview I always love SAED as if’s main default attack and I’m disappointed of what they did to it.
A bit bummed that you can't just pop out the SAED anymore. Sadge.
i found i could still SAED spam quite well and I also think this combo makes more sense for the weapon
The worst thing Capcom did was taking its SAED default and I didn’t like it.
@@babaganoush9237 same! Plus with the back spin hit it helps when you go for a SAED thinking you got space or time and being wrong instead of just dodging out I can spin it quickly back for more dps and it doesn’t feel wasted!
@@babaganoush9237it def makes SAED much more rewarding (i hope SAED phial damage get a KO buff 🙏)
You can, with a perfect block. It feels much more satisfying Vs just spamming it.
But my Unga Bunga , the whole point of CB is its versatile, so I hope the buff the SAED to match the Power Axe
I disagree. CB is a technical weapon. It shouldn't have a spammable heavy hitting attack. If you want unga bunga, play GS or Hammer or even Swaxe.
@@E.G.1005 no
You can still do the Unga Bunga playstyle. You have to do it with guarding. SAED spam becoming more of a counter playstyle. Like in Rise/Sunbreak (spam Counter Peak Performance and SAED). I think that's also what Capcom wants.
But I agree, sad about the SAED change.
@@E.G.1005imagine tell players how they should play a weapon in a game that they paid for. Get a grip.
Hi, everyone.
It's "PHIALS".
Hopefully, Sword Mode (with AED/SAED for burst) can still be a viable style of playing CB in Wilds since it’s how I played it in Rise and World.
Bow video summed up (I know it's not yet out but it's as easy as CB):
1: ready tracer arrow
2: use pierce/thousand dragons to open up as many wounds possible
3: arrow rain (try to place as many markers on the monster)
4-ready another tracer (needs to be wherever there is NOT a wound)
5- use the power coating
6-use focus strike(it'll target the markers and all the wounds shown in the aiming circle)
7: all wounds as well as markers will inflict damage (around 60 points from what I saw in the beta when destroyed, around 20 on hit and 15-30 on marker explosion)
Repeat all while using short range, poison or other coatings and doing perfect evade to refill coatings.
Here's the feedback I'll give for the Charge Blade:
3. In order to match with the button layout of the preparation animation of Amped Element Discharge (AED) / Super Amped Element Discharge (SAED), change the button layout after Charge Phials:
Holding ‘O(B)’ to perform the Savage Axe Slash (use the Axe: Condensed Spinning Slash from Rise),
Press ‘R2(RT)’ to perform Shield: Elemental Boost.
4. Change the button layout after Power Clash:
Press ‘Δ(Y)’ to perform Sword: Condensed Element Slash (Require powered shield to activate PSM)
Press ‘RT’ to perform Savage Axe Slash (Require powered shield and charged phials to activate SAM)
5. Make all the follow up moves from Guard, Guard Point and Perfect Guard identical to each other:
Press ‘Δ(Y)’ for Sword: Condensed Element Slash (Need powered shield to activate PSM)
Press ‘RT’ for Sword: Morph Slash
Press ‘O(B)’ for Savage Axe Slash (Except for Perfect Guard, powered shield and charged phials are required for activating SAM)
Press “O(B) +Δ(Y)” for AED (Need powered shield for SAED)
I think focus and evade extender will be more impactful for builds given how strong power axe is.
Well done with CB! I need to up my game 😊
Few things i don't like in this version of CB:
@@babaganoush9237
I disagree. World is not that different from wilds. Im playing world again all the way to fatalis just to hold me over. The only change that really matters is that its easier to power shield in wilds, and spam the axe VS SAED. And just remember focus mode exists. Thats literally it.
It's very interesting how they tinker with the vials mechanic and I'm eager to test the new charge blade in the full release of the game.
The only thing I would change is guard point able to grant power axe mode
Wilds (hehe) opinion here, but I think they should have had SAED be a charged version of the AED. You hold the button combo down for the wind-up animation to activate it.
If they bring back load shells and make it to where red phials get you to overcharged phials instantly then it will be no problem overcharging them all the time.
As a swaxe player looking to play a new weapon (i switch every mh game) the savage axe mode makes me very excited.
Damn, this is the earliest ive ever caught sny video, ever.
SAED spam was stupid anyway, we can clearly see than the devs want us to play with the whole kit off every weapon not just spam one move.
In your opinion perhaps
Agree.
My only wish is the rising hit in axe mode gets a offset in full release. Seems like a missed opportunity.
calling perfect guard the most reliable way to access this new mode is insane because it requires perfect timing something that is inherently inconsistent that MOST people will miss 90% of the time. I used CB in world it was my first weapon since world was my first game
Monster hunter is all about repeating hunts, you will learn the patterns of when to block, trust me.
"Savage axe" has always referred to the chainsaw mode
I honestly would have the world style of getting the chainsaw because getting it now is situations
It's more of a buzzsaw, though, not a chainsaw, right?
I absolutely loved Wilds CB because it encouraged more use of AED in more combos then just SAED spam so now I can choose to keep swinging the weapon or decide to end it with a SAED
And GU CB AED spam and Valor style has always been my favorite play style of CB and Wilds just combines both of those
Glad to see someone else mention GU Valor CB. It was my favorite as well. The AED loop was so satisfying to land, especially when you added the extra phials.
I strongly disagree
I agree. Went back to world for a bit CB only run to fatalis and its saed spam only or lose major dps.
I strongly agree
I charg blade
I don't mind the new combos with Charge Blade, but I'm not a huge fan of the new Element Discharge I. The big swing moves you a bit too much and I wish it was more stationary like the old side chop.
Nah wilds CB is "okay" its not about how good the current stuff is its about how its now conditional. Ive missed so many openings for SAEDs and in a party trying to proc "savage axe" is just a lil bit horrendous.
So, did anyone else’s savage axe not actually look as good as it does in the video? Mine basically did, uh.. nothing
Weapon is called “axe” in Japanese. “Charge axe”. So… being more savage axe focus is just returning to form isn’t it? :p
Finally a valid complaint.
Rising slash offset into a SAED would been insane.
00:10 Why? The hammer so low😢
I must have no life... first.
My Savage axe brethren we are free from Rise Charge blade, no longer will we be smacked out of our powered state no longer will we lose it from sheathing, no longer will endure a long animation only for the monster to treat a chainsaw as mosquito bite, World's heavy feeling is back.
I hope they don't nerf it when the game comes out 😂
That nerf needs to go to longsword.
@ligaar0849 Capcom nerfing their baby? Come on now.
I mained CB in Worlds and CB and HH in Rise and really enjoyed the changes to both in the beta. Can't wait til February
Ehhhh might as well call it Charged Axe
These videos are a tease because the hasn’t even come out
I don’t really know why people are so pressed.
Dam can’t just spam it now?
Ehh
It was bursty in world and spammy in iceborne
It’s just a different flavor of spammy now
SAED is literally peak spam? Least we have more then one move to spam now lmao (saed spam is the weapons identity) don't make me laugh that was just how you saw the weapon. As a greatsword you had to store the TCS of xD

And that’s perfectly fine, meaning you not buying the game. If you don’t like what they’ve changed it’s understandable to not buy it.
it's ridiculous you don't want to give the game a chance because your favorite what ever about the CB is gone. Weapons adapt with every generation and the meta isnt anywhere near confirmed. Your fear mongering yourself (also i swear if it's because of SAED spam getting nerfed then good riddens, your not a cb main your a GS player who couldn't figure the timeing or positioning for TCS so lets resort to abuseing it's easier to land Brother SAED)

As a CB main since it was added. Over 1000hrs+, I approve of these changes. It just makes the weapon more technical and rewarding to play with more skill in mind vs just SAED spam. Looking forward to the actual release and hoping the keep the weapon as is.
As a CB Main with 2000+ hrs in Worldbourne/Risebreak together. The changes strips the charged blade of its identity. It’s literally no point in using SAED now which made most CB mains love the weapons. They need to make it’s a nice medium. Gives players the freedom to use the CB the way they want. It also feels very heavy or clunky imo.
@@jiggynegus7541CB main since it was first ever introduced, here. Wilds is the best CB has ever felt. This last gen gave CB an "identity" that literally every single CB player used. @@BryanTheDMif they wanted to "expand the identity" the follow up before SAED wouldn't use up a vial, forcing you to waste it not on an SAED. And the reason it feels the best is because of focus mode. If world had focus mode, then it'd be the best CB ever felt.

Um it’s called power axe mode and is activated via an attack called savage axe slash. The confusion is coming from people like you who spout their beliefs as facts when the facts are readily available for all to see.
@@mitchgowing2336 your right they are readily to see because power axe already existed before savage was even a thing.
I want a guard point at the end of AED follow up.
It's nothing against you but I'm sorry, I find the way you speak quite boring.
I ended up not watching videos I'd have watched if it was cotton or Josh speaking. And as I said, it's not about the content.
Say it with me. Phials, ph ph ph phials
We haven’t seen skills yet 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ maybe hope later
I hate that they killed unga bunga playstyle
Any guard will do it.
