    The great think about your channel is how authentic it is. You don't present yourself as the greatest technician of all time, like some other channels. That is the reason I watch your channel, the content is also awesome. I use you as a training for my apprentice because you are very good at explaining things. You are a great teacher.

    I'm the one man HVACR division of a nashville remodel company and I've recently been tossed into commercial refrigeration and honestly I'd have no idea where to start if it weren't for your videos and others like you. I get they're not meant to be walkthroughs or training videos but watching thought processes and troubleshooting processes is how I, and I assume the majority of us, learned in the first place. HVACR is the only trade in which I've experienced the level of care to pass on knowledge to the next guy and the consistent pride taken in our work. We appreciate you, king.

    Hahahaha. I was at a call last week....talking to myself....a lady was below me....she was looking at me weirdly....i finally noticed she was looking at me....i had a laugh and told her....don't worry...i was talking the problem out to myself out loud.....she was "ok...thought you were talking to me...and i didn't understand what you were saying".

    9:00 We have a terminology in programming called Rubber Ducking to describe talking a problem through to a 3rd party, be it another programmer or just a rubber duck on your desk. The act of talking through the problem often reveals the solution. I personally tell my cats what's going wrong and that usually works a treat!

    It drives me nuts every time I see you walk up to a timer and turn it. I always put a mark on it and time it, making sure it advances before I touch it. For all I know the clock gets stuck on that one spot and by turning it I will never see the issue again until they call back because I didn't observe everything first.

    • @mynamesdan2164
      @mynamesdan2164 2 года назад

      Certainly not a bad choice! Although in my experience these rarely fail in one time frame and work the rest of the time. What I’ve found is if they are stuck (or just plain hard to turn from sand or whatever) they are REALLY stuck. In either case I would just replace it!

    My family has always referred to 'talking to ourselves' as 'asking expert advice' everything we do, from fixing a pipe or outlet to working on a machine, building something. It helps us to organize our thoughts and keep things on task, even at my day job I'll always be muttering to myself. I love your channel man, keep it up, twice now I've been able to troubleshoot my central geothermal HVAC by seeing similar symptoms to a walk-in condenser. This saving myself a fairly significant technician call out. My HVAC is from late 1990's early 2000's and still kicks butt every season, only occasionally freezing up or blowing a transformer.

    The process of evaluating the way the evap is iced up is a huge window into the issues it’s been having. Your idea of having a clear ice build up on the bottom being an indicator of the system trying to defrost is not something I’ve thought of in the past and I’m sure is correct. Always able to impress knowledge in these vids and I’m just so thankful for them and you.

    on one of your other videos you said sometimes you get water in the motors because you cant get them out because of the ice. you should look into a small compressor to blow the water out. the makita mac-210q are small and quiet and would probably be worth keeping in the van that way you dont have to wait for the water to drain out

    The white stuff isn't calcium, it's aluminum "rust"/oxidation. It happens a lot in restaurants because of bleach (sodium hypochlorite), and other salts in the air combining with the condensation. Awesome video otherwise. Keep up the great work teaching the next generation of techs to think "big picture" and not to overlook things that can be easily /accidentally ignored.

    • @nsboost
      @nsboost 2 года назад +2

      In the cooler? The hvac is not running to the coolers. There is ZERO reason for bleach in the air to circulate into a walk in freezer. Highly doubt that’s what it is.
      But “calcium” is also a bit far fetched as this isn’t “tap” water that the frost is made from. It is made from water in the air. Humidity. So I’m not sure I agree with either of the statements (calcium… or bleach)

    I love the way you make your videos and it is very helpful to hear your "Ramblings" as it is kinda of a step by step approach and we get to see how you get from trouble call to fixed. No one is perfect and you are very methodical and knowledgeable in your troubleshooting of these units and we get a wealth of information on the simplest of calls. I work as a maintenance tech in a packaging manufacturer and I get good troubleshooting tips on electrical from you and I enjoy your patience and dedication to the customers that you service. In a perfect world since doors left open is such a problem on these that the manufacturer would install a door switch and timer so that after a set period of time the control circuit would turn off the unit and a warning light would come on but I guess that would led to many nuisance calls for system being down. I was curious, at 8:10 in the video you can see the fan cycle control and sensing bulb moving around and I was wondering if that is normal and would that sensing bulb cap tube be damaged by that? Great videos as always and thanks so much for all that you do.

    Hot water burns through ice the fastest! I have a several pump sprayers if I can’t get a hose on it or don’t want to get hoses out. I have a similar hose sprayer with the mist and shower settings!
    I also fight the good fight of keeping doors closed. I show the customer the dirt on their coils and this one was pretty clean compared to many! Dirt does and lint doesn’t just magically appear in a unit.
    My company built coolers for a research lab at a large hospital in Memphis. They complained about mold in their cooler and had the nerve to argue me that they aren’t keeping the door open even though you could see tons of dirt and lint on the coils! Haha research scientist arguing me about a door being closed with clear evidence 😂😂😂
