As a perfectionist, I always appreciate your perfectionism. It's a blessing and a curse, but once you learn how to lean into it, you'll end up with amazing builds like this one!
The big plug on knee could be a hydraulic fill and or grease. A lot of people build mechs without those in mind. They use hydraulic cylinders and moving parts need grease.. base is looking great. Red is hydraulic for me. 😎
Between you and Boylei Hobby Time, I’m slowly but surely getting more and more inspiration for my projects. Keep in mind, you guys are both absolutely ridiculous talents but hey, I’ll gladly fake it till I can make it! 🤣😅
Wow man- you took the knee surgery in a direction I did not see coming, and it turned out fantastic. Just when I think you couldn't possibly cram more stuff on that base, you prove me wrong (and make it look good). I had forgotten about the little lady, as well; then thought it'd be cool if she had some wires running from the laptop into some port on the mech, but I figure, if we have wi-fi, she probably does too. This project is turning into a magnum opus, and it's been a pleasure to go along on the ride with you. Have a great week.
Thank you so much! I always think about the technologies that will be available in the future, this is why most robots are either a.i or remotely controlled, same goes for the cables... Where are the cables really needed? Cables look so cool though!
Great work as always! As this is a combat robot, perhaps around the back could be a crate or two of ammunition etc? And maybe the humans could be in some sort of support crew uniform?
so cool to see your creative process. Those 4 tube ports at the back i was expecting you to use those as they were, and then you used them as a guide to add even more detail! so nice how the existing shapes of your bits can act like guides.
Hey Dude great base build, @ first I thought the part was from a video cassette player, the part that winds the tap but not 100% now! TFS, GB :) Got it, it is the drive off an electric shaver! :)
are the mystery geribles from latching switches, the piece looks like a large pen catch, and ive seen similar designed pieces in larger latching switches
@@CutTransformGlue can’t wait to see, and latching switches are the press and it stays down (latched) press again to release, like most home stereo buttons to choose between speakers or sound sources
I think that piece is a button stem from a four-way directional pad button stem that would press the membrane contacts on a circuit board of a controller or something

A blessing and a curse for sure! Thanks buddy
Attention to detail is just👌🏼
Thanks buddy!

Awesome idea buddy, thanks!

Happy to hear you're feeling inspired! That's my goal here :D thanks buddy
So awesome work, the details, the imagination. A marvelous!!!
Thank you!
Very satisfying video man, the base is really coming together and the extra detail on the knee is perfect. 👌👍
Thank you so much, buddy!
Keeps.getting bettet and better!
Thank you!
Cool video as always, INTERESTING PIECE!
Thank you!

This is way too good.
Thank you!
You could have run some bonsai wire inside the red tubes and bent them to shape. No anchors required. I love your work ! Greetings fom Australia.
I'll probably do that, but I feel the anchors look cool! Thanks buddy!
Hahaha! Henry Hoover strikes again. The base is looking amazing, I can't wait to see it all primed!
Haha you mean unintentional robot salamandra? Thanks buddy!!
@@CutTransformGlue haha I was talking about the secret greebly being from a vacuum cleaner but maybe Henry hoover is not a universal reference!
This is an awesome model on a superb and fitting base.
Great work as always! As this is a combat robot, perhaps around the back could be a crate or two of ammunition etc? And maybe the humans could be in some sort of support crew uniform?
That was my idea for the first base iteration.. But that made the base gigantic so.. I'll have the ammo box on a future diorama! Thanks buddy
It's art ...it's amazing .

Oh yeah, I like doing that, specially when things fot together perfectly! Thanks

Got it, it is the drive off an electric shaver! :)
Thanks buddy! So.. None is correct, that one is really hard, I'll put the answer on the very end of next week's video! :)
The black connector piece reminds me of the clicking mechanism from a pen or a mechanical pencil, but this looks a bit larger
Nope! But you're right, it definitely clicks..
Love all your videos!!! Have you ever considered selling 3d printed greeble packs? Keep up the inspiring work.
I have some in my ko-fi shop! Thanks buddy
I can see the red cables or hoses for transferring hydraulic fluid to the robot for all of the hydraulics
The challenge piece I think is from one of those pens with four colors of ink in them!
Nope but thanks for trying! Answer next week buddy :D
the tube connector pieces remind me of a keycap holder from a mechanical keyboard.
You got it!!
are the mystery geribles from latching switches, the piece looks like a large pen catch, and ive seen similar designed pieces in larger latching switches
Not sure what latching switches encompasses but.. You're definitely close, next week's video will have the answer! Thank you
@@CutTransformGlue can’t wait to see, and latching switches are the press and it stays down (latched) press again to release, like most home stereo buttons to choose between speakers or sound sources
Thats an awesome base for the robot mate. Are we taking bets on whether the next one starts with you changing a bit? Lol. Keep safe!
That's very likely to happen haha thabks buddy, stay safe
When you actually HAD a knee surgery, the title makes you ><
Oh and in case the hoses warp and twist, fill them with alu, steel or copper wire.
just the same as your ball and socket .......
Oof that must be tough!!
Instead of breaking it you could have just added some glue in the hole and it'll glue itself to the inside somewhere.
That's a clever solution that I never thought of! Thanks
Did those come from old pens/mechanical pencils?
Nope! I'll add the answer in next week's video
@@CutTransformGlue Ok, I'll pay even closer attention to the next video then! 😁
TUBULAR!!!
Sometimes I really suck at answering those challenge questions ;)
That one was very hard, honestly! Answer on the very end of next week's video
I am worried he will trip over those cables and hoses when he comes in for maintenance !
👍🤖
Check Ken Spriggs' channel. Our buddy build has started. Not much of my paper robot but a couple good shots.
