I was born and raised in South Texas.....I have no idea how you are out just chilling in the Snow and enjoying it! I can barely do 40°F without feeling like I'm freezing!
Here in the PNW I hiked out a couple miles in the snow to get to this gorgeous peak runoff pond and caught some nice brookies. Started snowing midway upon my arrival and I stayed until sundown, camped out and made a fire (was well put out when I left so don’t come after me Smokey) It’s all about the mindset
Japan has a similar climate to MI, and as someone from MI I can tell you you get used to the cold, every year start of winter it sucks, by the end you are in a t shirt

Just a thought, but if you park you raft upside down while onshore, the snow will accumulate on the bottom and you won’t have to deal with snow inside your raft when you are ready to launch.
