The Green Goblin jump scare in Sam Raimi's Spiderman 1, where he was pretending to be an old crying lady in the burning building is one of my top picks for a jump scare. Along with the Leo Decaprio's character's wife looking straight to the camera when they're going down the elevator in Inception is also a top tier jump scare imo.
Roger Rabbit was the 1st movie I've ever walked out of. By which I mean, my mother carried my 3 year old butt out of the theater screaming BECAUSE of this jump scare. Silly of her to assume a movie with Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse on the same screen was not gonna exactly be kid friendly lol.
I’m with Tommy on Multiverse of Madness but the scene that got me was when they were in the underwater tubes racing toward the mcguffin and she kept breaking thru the doors. That last one u knew the jump was coming but there was an extra second or so in there then she jumped up and scared the crap out of me. I remember seeing it in the theater and it got me even though I knew it was coming. Same with miss minutes in Loki season one finale.
Great list! The twist in Roger Rabbit was so unexpected and scary!! And in the Wizard of Ox it was less the monkeys flying and more when they landed and you saw how big they were!! No surprise they were able to lift Dorothy and fly away with her. Loved the crew and the process! Can't wait to see more of these videos!!
Honorable mention: Wanda looking at us in Multiverse of Madness. 5. Flying monkeys 4. Two Green Goblins in Spider-Man 1 3. Miss Minutes "Hey y'all!" 2. Bilbo 1. Judge Doom
The first time i ever liked a jumpscare was in the movie theater as a junior higher when the raptor from Jurassic Park was waiting in the power breaker room. I screamed out loud...and returned to see it two more times in the theater! And this is coming from the girl who was traumatized by Gremlins (they string up the poor dog!) Hated Roger Rabbit because of that ending!
You missed Harry and the Hendersons when after the family hit Harry with the car, think they killed him, strap him to the roof of the car, and while they are driving Harry wakes up and puts his face onto the front Windshield. I’ve been told that the first time I watched this movie I ran out of the room at that part haha.
Fun fact: the director thought fake snow didn't look right in the Wizard of Oz, so they showered the cast with asbestos instead. There's many horrifying things in the Wizard of Oz... on and off screen.
I would like to add the scene on Moonwalker when that kid was like “its Michael Jackson”. Also, on The Wiz when they were in the subway station and the trash cans and pillars started attacking them.
A lot of scenes are scary in Return of the Oz, I think the wig sequence is one of the scariest. Also what about the Child Snatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
If i knew Hector was on this episode i would've watched it a week ago, y'all complement each other so well!! Can't wait for the strike to be over to get more Heroes Reforged content and reactions!
Yes, I remember that Supes 3. I also have the comic version, just gave me the shivers looking at the comic, w/c brought me back to the movie 😱 One of the most memorable body horror in a non-horror movie... Robocop, when the guy got radioactive sludge poured on him. "Help me, help me" in a grating raspy voice before getting run over by a van / Robocop/Robocop's parter. Still haunting me to this day 😳
The most creepy jumpscare to me is The Winkster from Barney: Live in New York. I can’t be the only one who was creeped out by him and had nightmares. The way he presents himself and the background music that goes with. Mainly the caked up makeup and outfit freaks me out. But what makes him totally scary is that he can be anywhere at anytime and to him its all fun and jokes 😢😢and doesn’t do it to be mean
I dont think of Sleepwalkers as a horror movie. Its one of the few Stephen King movies ive repeatedly watched. When the guy in the movie turns into the creature the first time i ALWAYS jump. Another Stephen King story i enjoy is Stand By Me and I never like when they show the body
Superman 3 scene gave me such nightmares, especially because my big brother often teased me that I was a robot my parents built, not a real kid. Bilbo definitely made the whole theater leap back screaming. Roger Rabbit made my sister cry in the theater and my mom had to take her out while my brother looked after me. Return to Oz was so terrifying, I'm not sure if I ever watched the movie all the way through.
I googled “Signs” to see if it’s considered a horror movie and it’s listed as Science Fiction and Suspense on Amazon. The scene where they’re watching the newscast of a home video of a birthday party and then an alien steps out from the bushes… omg I screamed. Also, the scene where Mel Gibson is using the butcher knife to look under that door… and we all knew it was coming but when those claws came out it still scared the bajeezus out of me.
I took my friend to watch Parasite in the cinema because I saw it was nominated for Best Oscar. I knew the director's movies were known for their plot twists, but didn't know what it was, while he knew basically nothing. I distinctly remember just before the movie starts, he turns to me and asks "This isn't a horror movie is it?" to which I said "Nah, it's not", I wasn't sure but I hadn't heard it referred to as a horror movie. Anyone who has seen the movie may know where this is going, but when the twist does happen, I was very worried that I had accidentally lied to him 😅
The first time I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark and the opening of the ark and what happen to all the Nazis. The Gustapo guys face melting was completelly traumatizing.
I tried to take this mostly as literal jump scares so...5). Alien slams into the glass in Independence Day. 4). Any early moment with 'the beast' in Sandlot. 3). Bullet hole Pietro and/or dead Vision in WandaVision. 2). Less of a jump scare but THE HEART SCENE FROM INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF THE DOOM, which is action/adventure but pure nightmare to most kids from the late 80's and beyond. 1). BOWLING ALLEY HAND SHREDDING IN KINGPIN, which is considered as a SPORTS COMEDY!?
Alrighty so future ideas.....best 80's kids/teen movies? The Goonies The Princess Bride Labyrinth The Neverending Story Back to the Future The Karate Kid Explorers Who Framed Roger Rabbit ET Big Little Monsters Flight of the Navigator Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
@@dylanstankewicz850 how could I have forgotten those movies? This might need to get broken into just 80's kids then another 80's teen. But where's the line? This might be a fun topic for them to go over.
The only thig I find funny is. I was watching Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and paused it at the tunnel scene only to see what was new on RUclips. Creepy.🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
And check out the final list on the New Rockstars channel on WEDNESDAY!
Tommy my Pal

I thought of spiderman 2 when doc Oct goes ham on the hospital workers
That one is pretty iconic too ngl@@keithbrower5310
Or the other Goblin jumpscare on the rooftop where there's a second goblin standing behind him
Roger Rabbit was the 1st movie I've ever walked out of. By which I mean, my mother carried my 3 year old butt out of the theater screaming BECAUSE of this jump scare. Silly of her to assume a movie with Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse on the same screen was not gonna exactly be kid friendly lol.
Bilbo trying to bite my head off on screen "The nun style" tops the cake.
What about Jurassic Park? “Mr. Hammond, I believe we’re back in business! AHHH!” 😱💪🦖
For me as a kid, the pink elephants from Dumbo was way too trippy and gave me some serious nightmares.
Honorable mention: Wanda looking at us in Multiverse of Madness.
5. Flying monkeys
4. Two Green Goblins in Spider-Man 1
3. Miss Minutes "Hey y'all!"
2. Bilbo
1. Judge Doom
I would add Fizzgig's first appearance in The Dark Crystal
The first time i ever liked a jumpscare was in the movie theater as a junior higher when the raptor from Jurassic Park was waiting in the power breaker room. I screamed out loud...and returned to see it two more times in the theater! And this is coming from the girl who was traumatized by Gremlins (they string up the poor dog!) It's not a horror scare, but I, and many others in the theater, jumped in their seats when Loki appeared in front of Casey the second time.
You missed Harry and the Hendersons when after the family hit Harry with the car, think they killed him, strap him to the roof of the car, and while they are driving Harry wakes up and puts his face onto the front Windshield. I’ve been told that the first time I watched this movie I ran out of the room at that part haha.
Love this show idea!!! I'm here for anything with Hector.
Ceiling Raptor in Jurassic Park. Arguably a horror movie, but I'd classify it as Action/Adventure.
1. When Gmork jumps out in The Neverending Story
2. ROUS in the Princess Bride
Ooooh, that stupid wolf in Neverending Story
Fun fact: the director thought fake snow didn't look right in the Wizard of Oz, so they showered the cast with asbestos instead. There's many horrifying things in the Wizard of Oz... on and off screen.
I would like to add the scene on Moonwalker when that kid was like “its Michael Jackson”. Also, on The Wiz when they were in the subway station and the trash cans and pillars started attacking them.
I am so with Erik about Superman 3 with that woman being assimilated
Yesss! That freaky moment stays with you... I haven't seen that in years but thats the top moment of that film
I completely forgot about it and then they showed it and I had a visceral reaction. That got me.
6:33 you also put it above Back to the Future?! To be fair it is a great film . Also great impression of the Judge kudos to Eric 😂
What about Disney's Pinocchio (the animated one) where the kids turn into donkeys?
The Parasite staircase scene also haunted me for a few nights
Return to Oz is 10000% a horror film already
also honourable mention: the rat getting electrocuted in fantastic mr fox freaked me out when i was a kid
The hanging Batman in dark knight
Doc Oc waking up after surgery in the Toby Spider-Man movie scared me
Yes, I remember that Supes 3. I also have the comic version, just gave me the shivers looking at the comic, w/c brought me back to the movie 😱

Mulholland Drive behind the dumpster
21:49 - this line and the silence that follows, is pure comedy. LMFAO.
The most creepy jumpscare to me is The Winkster from Barney: Live in New York. I can’t be the only one who was creeped out by him and had nightmares. Four words:
Pink Elephants on Parade
I dont think of Sleepwalkers as a horror movie. Its one of the few Stephen King movies ive repeatedly watched. When the guy in the movie turns into the creature the first time i ALWAYS jump.
Another Stephen King story i enjoy is Stand By Me and I never like when they show the body
My wife and I are in our mid 40's and nothing scared us as kids as much as those damn flying monkeys. Hahaha
Blackbolts head liquification. Caught me completely off guard. Of all the crazy stuff in that movie - that one got me.
The last scene in "Big Trouble In Little China"... with the monster hiding in the back of the truck. FREAK..... ME..... OUT!
I've not seen Parasite - so other than that. Voss's list is perfection. He got all of my childhood horrors
There are some good jump scares in The Craft (maybe its a teen horror movie). I always disliked Mumbi or whatever her name was from Return to Oz.
Faruiza Balk
@@generalilbis Yep, she made good movies with jump scares.
I missed Hector 😊

Does Indiana jones 2 count as a horror movie or not
Why are so many things on these lists not actual "jump scares"??
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice
RETURN TO OZ wins imo
👻👻
WoO monkeys are not a jump scare…
I liked my own comment
Love new rockstars but this was a big pass for me. Please dear God do not start posting top 10 videos.
