    There is enough cord left on the short pieces to do cow hitches on the swivel, it looks more finished and fills in the swivel better.

    Thanks Paracord Planet! I just bought 50ft of dark teal cord, and a few others from “Bored? Paracord!” And the cord that I bought from you, came in a nice resealable bag and wasn’t a hassle to take a few strands out of the bag. The other cords came in a figure-8 pattern and were hard to take out without a resealable bag

    When you post a negative comment on Paracord website they will not publish it. You will only see 4 or 5 star reviews. This is a form of lying to the customer. Publish everyone's thoughts on your product and let the public decide, don't lie to us.

    Wish it had "traditional" ar clips. The ones it comes with can't clip into my mlok sling attachment. Too thick, shame cause the king cobra design with the colors I picked look great

    • @kmnremtp
      @kmnremtp 3 года назад

      You can use the sling attachment points on an AR just like you use the attachments where the paracord attaches to this sling kit. Won’t be detachable unless you come up with a way to make it detach but will work the same. Paracord measurements will be different as well, where he set the first 2 straight sections at 22” in the video, just do whatever feels comfortable for you instead of 22”

    Instead of cutting it at 14 and 16 feet I kept it all one piece because I'd rather have 10 strands of 30 feet the a bunch random lengths that are to short to do anything with

    Why cut 4 different strands, if you are just going to keep weaving it? I would have just kept them as a solid piece just Incase.

    Great job, my only concern is this entire sling is only a strong as the original two strands.

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  3 года назад

      Indeed. A paracord fid is a little different from a rope fid, but similar concept. I've noticed this disparity of terminology before when talking to people who practice traditional ropecraft.

    • @jamesheffington3931
      @jamesheffington3931 3 года назад

      Even if that is true, you're still talking about at least 550# of tensile strength. But having the knots around your core tight (the 1st weave) adds some more strength because the nylon-on-nylon sheath friction sort of locks 2 strands together, so if your core strand snaps, but you have other knots around it, it likely won't unravel immediately upon failure. Then if you add the 2nd weave onto the 1st, you get a little more friction resistance. I would bet the weak point in this setup is the plastic piece.

    Do I need to buy a 60 inch jig to make the sling? Sorry I’m new with paracord making as I just want to try to make one for a project.

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  Год назад +1

      Luke didn't use a jig in the video, so you do NOT need one for this project! It just makes things easier to have one. 😎

      @ParacordPlanet Thank you so much for the reply.
      Also, I’m wondering how much paracord should I use if I want to do both sides of the sling and the webbing strap will be at the Middle part of the sling? Should I just half the 60ft= 30ft for each side and 15ft each color? Sorry for the follow up question as I’m having a hard time looking online on how to make a crossbody sling. 😅

    How do I know how much paracord I need? The length I’m trying to do is right around 2 foot? So how much paracord will I need to do this 2 foot section?

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  10 месяцев назад

      Here you go: ruclips.net/video/aACcaQRn6lA/видео.htmlsi=HXdLsDVB5yzTn1_v&t=33. Those instructions start about 33 seconds into this video. If you use 60 feet total, you'll get a 23-inch-long weave like we did. However, if you want an extra inch or two, add a couple extra feet to each cord color. Let us know if that helps!

  • @iamcondescending
    @iamcondescending Год назад

    This is a terrible method....
    First: you have to core one of the strands of paracord and slip the other inside it, then heat the connection till it shrinks and tightens together. The method shown here WILL break within the first use.
    Second: there was no need to make the inside and outside paracord weaves separate. I loop the paracord through the clips and start the outside weave, using the same paracord that made up the initial cobra weave. Makes the whole thing stronger as now all the paracord is holding the weight of the rifle. Not just the core. It's how I terminate all the cobra weaves I make.
