it was by chance I met Nageswara Rao sir in February 1982 at his residence - .We came from Vizianagaram to Hyderabad on some work and were visiting some relatives place - en-route our driver told us that one of the palatial bungalows in Banjara hills belonged to ANR sir. We became greedy to meet him and approached the security guard - who told us that ANR sir is not at home . Upon hearing the same - we were disappointed a bit- and as luck would have it- he just drove past us in a merc - and the security guard told us he just arrived - however he was sceptic asnd asked my mom to write our names on a small piece of paper -the guard took the paper inside - and we waiting anxiously in the lawn - me - my dad , mom and my maternal grand-mom. Randomly on tall elderly , bald figure emerged from the dark. seeing this person we approached him and told him that we are here to meet ANR. and the figure said - that I am the person whom we wanted to meet. Behold - we couldn't believe with our eyes - that ANR sir came out of his house after day long busy schedule to meet some unknown persons- his offscreen appearance was different without a wig. After a few moments of causal interaction- he asked me in which class i was - I told him I was in 7th grade . He patted on my back and told me that he always felt sad that he couldn't even complete his 5th grade and encouraged me to study and learn till the last breath. His gesture lead me to earn a doctoral degree in science -15 yrs later . I normally stopped watching telugu movies for quiet some time . However when his last movie "Manam" was released -in 2014 - I went to the theatre in Visakhapatnam ( where I now live) to pay my last homage - the most apt way !!!

it was by chance I met Nageswara Rao sir in February 1982 at his residence - .We came from Vizianagaram to Hyderabad on some work and were visiting some relatives place - en-route our driver told us that one of the palatial bungalows in Banjara hills belonged to ANR sir. We became greedy to meet him and approached the security guard - who told us that ANR sir is not at home . Upon hearing the same - we were disappointed a bit- and as luck would have it- he just drove past us in a merc - and the security guard told us he just arrived - however he was sceptic asnd asked my mom to write our names on a small piece of paper -the guard took the paper inside - and we waiting anxiously in the lawn - me - my dad , mom and my maternal grand-mom. Randomly on tall elderly , bald figure emerged from the dark. seeing this person we approached him and told him that we are here to meet ANR. and the figure said - that I am the person whom we wanted to meet. Behold - we couldn't believe with our eyes - that ANR sir came out of his house after day long busy schedule to meet some unknown persons- his offscreen appearance was different without a wig. After a few moments of causal interaction- he asked me in which class i was - I told him I was in 7th grade . He patted on my back and told me that he always felt sad that he couldn't even complete his 5th grade and encouraged me to study and learn till the last breath. His gesture lead me to earn a doctoral degree in science -15 yrs later . I normally stopped watching telugu movies for quiet some time . However when his last movie "Manam" was released -in 2014 - I went to the theatre in Visakhapatnam ( where I now live) to pay my last homage - the most apt way !!!
