I've been playing guitar for over 50 years and I come to RUclips to quickly learn new songs. You're the first teacher in over 15 years of RUclips watching who regularly points out the motifs in the song. As you know, every song has motifs within it that identify the song. If you correctly play the primary motifs along with the correct rhythm and chord structure when you sing the right Melody across it you have a very good arrangement every time. Thank you for this arrangement it's very good.
Wow thank you so much for this tutorial. I have watched and fumbled along so many times.... but I can proudly say that I think I have it down now and can play it without looking at the tabs. It’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve learned to play. it's a real popular progression: vi II V i progression, super common...Fly Me to the Moon (though that's in Fmaj7 not Gmaj7 and played much faster), At Last (Etta James, also in Fmaj7), and many, many more, and yes! Billy Joel, movin out is one of these, also in Fmaj7 - prove it to yourself: play Dm7 (x5356x) then Gm7 (3x3333) then C7 (x3231x) then Fmaj7 (1x221x) and sing the lyrics of any of these songs over it :) of course the melodies are different, and the bridge and chorus, but yeah part A there is pretty common.

noticed a small mistake in your notation, the fifth verse on the start where you play A, G B together and two times open B, it should be 3 times open B and 1 time open E hi and then 3 hi E and 2 Hi e. Thanks for this amazing tab bro!

You're better off not doing that. I naturally did it when I started playing fingerstyle but my playing has improved and hand feels more comfortable after making a conscious effort not to anchor it there.
