This is hands down the best Vietnam travel vid I have seen on RUclips, well done for going somewhere different than the usual routine. Also it's nice to see English people being respectful to the locals. You are attracting so much attention because you are off the beaten track.
Wow! your motorbike saga is #5stars. Just wow! I'm in the States, but i would agree with the locals you just look celebrities, (related to Cate Blanchett & Sean Connery?). Binge watched and watching again! Love it. :)
This episode is lovely. I’m happy that you guys have been safe throught the journey and feel welcoming in Vietnam. Here are some tips that you may find useful: - Vietnamese are very hospitable, and they will even like you more if you try to speak some Vietnamese with them. Hence it’d be nice if you learn some simple sentences like: Xin chào (hello), tạm biệt (good bye), cảm ơn (thank you), bao nhiêu tiền (how much?), ngon quá (delicious) - Google translate voice comes in handy when speaking with locals, it’s quite accurate. - When traveling on the road, please try to stay away from trucks, buses and containers for more safe drives. - in rural Vietnam, you will usually find stores owned by a household, kind of convenient ones that sell all types of stuffs. If you need something, don’t be afraid to ask the owner. - Some delicious Vietnamese foods I highly recommend you guys to try: for main courses: bánh xèo, bún chả, phở bò/gà, bún bò huế, nem rán, rau muống xào tỏi, cơm sườn. for breakfast: bánh mì, xôi, bánh cuốn, milky coffee. These can be found in almost every province in Vietnam so you can just ask locals for finding selling places. As a Vietnamese, I’m so proud that you guys choose to spend your time experiencing my mother country. Vietnam has a great history worth getting to know, people aren’t wealthy but very nice and supportive. I hope you have a fun time here. Can’t wait for a new episode!
Great video. Just some translations for you guys around 19:43, the owner said: "There're guests in the the room to the left. It might be loud. Then offered the next room which he said is more ok"
Hello guys, Vietnamese are usually really friendly and nice. Remember they’re not laughing at you, they’re laughing with you. Also keep it Raw Vlog that way you can enjoy the moment while we get to experience it with you. Cheers 👍🍻🍻
I rode Vietnam for four months. the way you two are doing it is the way to go! Getting there is half the fun! I didn't even worry about not getting to all the instagram spots because all of Vietnam is amazing in so many ways with a surprise around every corner.
Vietnamese people are very friendly and welcoming . They love to take photos with the tourists or wave and say Hello to them on the roads . The visitors who are coming to Vietnam for the first time might find it weird and scary . But don't worry our people are very open-minded and not at all prejudicious . They have no bad intentions towards the foreigners and always consider them like VIP guests and try to make them feel welcome and more comfortable . Ride safely and hope you will enjoy your trip in our country .
hahaa Im dead at the moment the local people were so excited when they met foreigners. It made me remember my childhood. You know, in the countryside, it's not often to see foreigners, so that makes it special. The first time that I have met a foreigner is like something to be proud of and I always appreciate that memory.
I was so excited to watch tonight's episode and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic, thanks so much for sharing 😀. We're heading to Vietnam on Friday, we're soooo excited 😊. Keep on keeping on, stay safe and enjoy every moment, until next episode xxxx
Love a good homestay, the best type of accomodation, giving you insights into real life in a country. Amazed you're introverts, you come across quite extrovert and so confident in front of camera.
Don't worry guys, it's not a staring-down look, just out of curiosity, no judging at all since most of them don't see foreigners that often in their lifetime. The locals are among the nicest people, they over-welcomed everybody visiting their town. I hope you guys will get used to it soon and have a great trip in Vietnam. Great video as always
11:31 I almost did made the same mistake when tried to reach Ta Dung viewpoint. Glad u found it. Unlucky the weather was not that great that day for you. Great episode! looking forward for the next one! Ride safe, be safe!
Watching your video's makes me really miss every second of my SEA scooter travels. I've been to a lot of the places you two have gone, and seeing it all again with the locals and the roads...I miss everything about my time there. 4.5 months across three countries.
Of all the vloggers hitting Vietnam lately, you guys are my favorite! Awesome choice to go a different route than most and to just go with the flow and see where it takes you. That lake you guys found with all the islands was beautiful! They definitely need to build that up for tourists.
Watched you from near the start of your you tube adventures, your channel is like a" breath of fresh air" thanks for sharing, looking forward to the rest of your trip
I had never seen that lake/reservoir in any other vietnam youtube vids before. Thank you for going out of your way, literally, to show us that. (I was like, "where the heck are you going?" lol...) Hospitality is an essential part of Vietnamese culture and people are generally warm, kind, and friendly (except for the corrupt cops) so don't be surprised. They stare because they're curious and don't see too many tourists in that part of the country, and also because in their eyes, Caucasians are beautiful (and you guys are a good-looking couple :)) so they tend to look with admiration. I'm an introvert too and I don't like to draw attention to myself, so kudos to you for filming out in public. Western culture is one of individualism and mind-your-own-business but not in vn. In fact, there's not much personal space there as they'd hug and touch you without knowing you but that's their way of showing friendliness and affection. Chien=fried, ga=chicken, com=cooked rice. Anything "chien" would be deep fried or stir fried. :) Good job and carry on!
Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a lovely comment! Vietnam has opened our eyes to how friendly and loving people can be, even if they're complete strangers. I'm so happy we can share our journey with you🥰
I have no doubt that after trip you will get lots of happy experience and turning points in your mind due to those Vietnamese warmly smiles and the fact that remote villagers can communicate a little bit in English. Don't know whether during the trip you could find out the differences between Southern, Central and Northern Vietnamese in their behaviours. Waiting for Ep 3.
Oh my god, you guys are so brave to travel from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike. I mean, sitting on motorbike for like one or two hours already make my butt feel dizzy. But hopefully you guys can come to Hanoi safely. Also, be careful sometimes ha, not everyone is friendly. Vietnamese people really impressed by foreign people, they definitely curious about you guys cause we rarely see the foreign people from West side. We are stunned by the height, the body shape, the blonde hair, etc... Love your videos, wish you guys can have a great trip in Vietnam.
I love how open and vulnerable you guys are. I can absolutely relate to bring an introvert and automatically assuming people have the worse intentions. That's why I'm terrified of ever doing a solo trip, but I am being comforted by you two and your adventure. Being from India, people do stare a bit here haha. Maybe it's time I started waving at them 😁
Thank you! I'm glad our videos help, Vietnam was a trip that put us out of our comfort zone and was the best trip we've ever done, so I hope that inspires you to just do it! I'm sure you won't regret it!

I admire you guys for doing this road trip without knowing much of the language. I dont know if i can do that in a foreign country. Too scary for my liking. Hopefully you guys have/had a great time in my motherland
Love your episodes so far, its awesome and inspiring to see what an adventure it must have been, to go off the beaten track. I am planning something similar to your adventure next year with a couple of mates, could you tell me how much it cost to rent the bike for the trip? Thanks and well done again
Amazing & it all depends on the bike and the amount of time you’ll be renting it for. Best thing is to go onto style motorbikes website and you can choose your bike and it will tell you a price!
Hi Vietnamese, people like that they just tried to be nice so don’t worry they looking at you is doesn’t mean anything I hope you guys enjoy 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧Scotland
This is a great set of videos, and that's coming from someone who has been doing motorcycle trips all over the world for 25 years. I would like to know what you were using to find some of the less-common roads. For example, you talk about not taking the main highway from Cam Tien National Park to Bao Loc, but I can't find the road on any maps I have. What were you using for navigation?
I've circled the Vietnam also and can feel your upcoming pain already. Bike you choose has too hard seat and position too frontheavy. I did my 3 months trip with my wife on Suzuki 110 GD. That I can honestly recommend for anyone with it's soft seat and straight driving position.
Hey, amazing vid! just a question, if you could go back, would you have chosen more of an off road bike? or was the one you had good enough for your journey overall?
People recommend getting a sim card at the airport or in the city (cheaper). I think Viettel is what they all use and you'll get signals throughout Vietnam.
Vietnamese people are very curiously, when they started at you ,for local,it's doesn't mean rude, because it's normal for them, but as soon as you say hello or smile to them, they'll do it right back at you,try it ..!😄😄❤️

Just wondering, who was your cellular provider during the trip?
I was able to use 12GB with my provider from home. A lot of people get a sim card from Viettel though its really easy to do. 👍
People recommend getting a sim card at the airport or in the city (cheaper). I think Viettel is what they all use and you'll get signals throughout Vietnam.
What time was it that they normally eat dinner?? A good tip for fresher food!
It think it was around 5-5:30pm!
Also, what was the month you were traveling? I’m heading in November and was thinking it might be too cold to do it by motorbike…
Vietnamese people are very curiously, when they started at you ,for local,it's doesn't mean rude, because it's normal for them, but as soon as you say hello or smile to them, they'll do it right back at you,try it ..!😄😄❤️
Yes that’s what we learnt, they are so friendly. Different to the western culture!
