- What started several years ago as a way to help the planet has grown into a global movement that's helping neighbors save money and feel more connected. Have you ever heard of the gift economy? Think old-school trading and bartering on a hyper-local level. Everything from clothes, to garden supplies and car seats.
I've been junking decades before it became popular. Most of us didn't tell anyone and lied about where we got the outfit from naming some store or something. People used to say it was gross to wear someone elses clothes and shoes. Not so much now.
SOME PEOPLE NEVER REALLY HAD A CHOICE BUT TO SHOP IN SECOND-HAND STORES, THERE WAS NO SHAME IN IT. BETTER TO HAVE HAD A SECOND-HAND COAT THAN NOT HAVING ONE AT ALL & THE PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE MADE FUN OF IT WERE JUST BASICALLY NARROW MINDED FOOLS.
GIVE TO THE LOCAL CHARITIES WHO DEPEND ON DONATIONS.
PEOPLE IN THEIR BIG HOUSES GETTING FOR FREE SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO BUY, I’M AGAINST THAT WHOLEHEARTEDLY.
IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DONATE TO CHARITIES PER SAY, HOW ABOUT GIVING TO THE HOMELESS PEOPLE & THE HOMELESS SHELTERS, THESE PEOPLE REALLY NEED A HELPING HAND!
What they're doing seems more like swapping or barter system like in the old days.
You seem to have a bit of a problem with people who are not homeless and have a job totally disregarding the fact that those people are the ones who are financially supporting homeless services with their tax dollars.
