So, the reason his zoom in post looks so wonky is because he did the speed ramp before he made the position adjustments. If you want the final product to look a little smoother, do the position adjustments with the ease in/outs first and then add the speed ramp after! Hope this helps.
In this case and watching with headphones, it doesn't distract me that much. Instead I liked used music here quite much. But didn't find any link on them in the description :/
I know...and it's sad because that's my biggest pet peeve watching RUclips videos as well! I was in a crazy rush to get this finished at the time and should have gone and done a proper mix. Lesson learned!
just a tip from my side, if you first add the digital dolly zoom effect the effect will be more solid as the dolly movement is nearly perfectly smooth; you could then nest the sequence and add the speed ramp afterwards this will safe lots of time as you do not have to edit the keyframes and is easier to do Anyways i really like the effect and the idea keep going
@@cbenfey oh okay well that is something different. However, if some people like it more static or rather not that wobbely this could It is a subjective thing Thank you for the answer
This was an awesome tutorial, Cristoph! Made it really easy to understand each step - I was able to get a nice result on my first try. Thank you, keep up the awesome work and cheers from Brazil!
This is fantastic. I’ve done a couple of digital dolly zooms in the past but was never quite happy with them - these tips are definitely going to change that. Going to try a #dollyzoomerang next! Thanks for a great video! Subbed!
I think that for the next time you want to teach us stuff on premier you should zoom on the things you've doing, not with everything but watching just the full premier view it's kind of boring after a while in my opinion. Nice technique 👍 well explained and I hope to see more people trying the Dolly zooming as a boomerang! I think Peter Mckinnon did it with drones but yours is more accessible for everyone.
Kubmats yeah I agree with you regarding the Premiere section. Hard to make that part exciting! I definitely drew tons of inspiration from the Drone Boomerang, and probably wouldn’t have ever gotten to this one if I hadn’t done a few of those first! But yeah, it was all about accessibility with this one, you can pretty much do it with any stills camera if you don’t have nice video equipment. So I’m excited to see what kinds of new ideas people come up with and how this one evolves as people go out and start making their own! Thanks for the feedback!
This shit just gave me creative bon*r I've never been more inspired thank you guys so much! First time here as well definitely subscribed love quality content like this.keep it up!!!
If done using zoom lens, its way much better, just make sure AF is on or the Camera Op incharge on the focus will always adjust it cuz Focus changes as you zoom But in filmmaking or just normal videos, I still prefer manual zoom than using effects
Amazing! Have you also tried using the warp stabilizer with the normal velocity clip instead of using it near the end of the process? Just wondering if you decided to use it where you use it for a specific reason
Tomasz Fontana yeah I did that at first, but I found that it was better to smooth out what was left after it was sped up. One thing I thought of today was possibly doing the dolly zoom on the clip before speed ramping and see how that looks.
@@cbenfey Yup, coul be a way. I'm definetely gonna try it and see how it performs. At first I was thinking "this man is crazy, how can he zoom with the lense so smoothly on a onewheel?", after seeing the first part of the video I remembered that 4k already exist and also that I've already did it...lol. Love the compositions and the way u use it, it's very dynamic! Thnaks man!

Coming straight from Jesse's video - gosh darn love this here video Christoph! This is so sweet! I'm going to have to find a way to use this!

One suggestion.. keep the background music very low while explaining something.. it's little distracting
In this case and watching with headphones, it doesn't distract me that much. Instead I liked used music here quite much. But didn't find any link on them in the description :/
I agreed... it's little distracting, the music always must be low than voices

Love the intro. love the video i had plans on trying this yesterday but NYC got hit with snow and couldn't take the onewheel out.
Edon Has damn, but I’m imagining giant snowflakes falling and looking so epic!!
That’s what I had in mind but it was a hectic day I never see this city in so much distress because of some snow lol Canadians handle it better.

Remember back when you made this and it was just as incredible as it is now but it didn’t blow up but then now it did? That was awesome.

Sick tut!
Wouldnt it be more efficient to do the scaling at first and the speed ramp afterwards? You wont have the problem with the bezier zoom
Yeah for sure but I like the little bounce you get at the ends when it loops when you do it this way.
Wait does this guy share an office with Driftwood? Cool video, came over from Hau’s video.

Isn't this technique also called as vertigo effects!
Rozz Embi they had already stated it in the video

Rozz Embi Vertigo and Boomerang combined. So many techniques combined
@@theowlfromduolingo7982 so its a vertigo effect but the reverse...not much technique outside the dolly zoom
