      Really? Milk production is a cruel industry and produces strikingly high levels of CO2 - I don't think packaging based on milk is any kind of a way forwards. The US Department of Agriculture is in the pockets of industrial farming, which no doubt explains their priorities - which is to sell milk, I think, and not to save the world.

    I am glad people pointed out Triton as fraud.
    It's high time something is done about passenger aircraft safety. At least install parachutes on top so that at least high altitude crashes are not fatal.
    And install rubber air bags below in case of low level crash.

    I think the possibility of a cabin section disconnecting from the main body is something all aircraft designers would look at not only for the value but pure safety. While maybe cost prohibitive but I would pay extra to fly onboard this aircraft than any other, also with the types of material being used today and future materials coming forward would or could make it cost-effective and with the amounts of inspections being done now, this should be strongly looked at.

    • @ablemagawitch
      @ablemagawitch 4 года назад

      They already have small plane (Cessna/Piper/Beech single/double engine sized) parachutes which are retrofits, due to the sheer cost of newly equipped aircraft costing so much more and it being luxury option like seat belts were once and upgrade.. They have been scaled up for large commercial aircraft, in theory for R&D and applied on larger spacecraft, so the application is there........ Which they're not a mandatory safety requirement in any country sadly,m hence you won't see them on planes. Aircraft crashes are so low they aren't a big issue on the radar. Even if it a 747 plane full of people's lives and that is lot more than Moral Panic laws of "If It Saves One Life...." crap they punished us with for losing freedoms... and forcing to buy safety gear that sounds good but the risk to use ratio is very low to offset the cost. Every industry and their insurance companies mandates has put a price on your life and that of others. Basically Making the cost needing to be financially worth it, to equip a fleet of aircraft verses the money lost to actual risks. The aircraft is an investment item by itself. Which how many of these parachutes does it cost to outfit the fleet and the maintenance to test/replace/recertify for life cycles? That is the sad way safety recalls work, if say a vehicle problem will lead to more costs in lawsuits for damages and punitive awards from hurting people, then they recall the safety hazard. So until that , they won't build in/retrofit the items into planes. Otherwise they let it hurt people until that factor comes into play...... Also commercial airliners fly at high enough speeds where even with a regular parachute the forces of the wind would rip a human a part trying to exit the plane. Skydiving planes go real slow and are almost at stall speeds when jumpers exit.
      Another scenario option
      A whole passenger plane with a top that came off by explosive bolts(that canopy clears before the ejection seat fires on the fighter aircraft) trigger by the captain/flight crew and then passengers having their seats fired up into the air(I assume you want en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ejection_seat#Zero-zero_ejection_seat options) and deploying a parachute automatically when clear would be astronomical, let alone the fact people would undo their flight safety restraints.
      The general public with ejection seats they control would be really really bad (tonight on the news, asshole gets pissed because air stewardess refuses to serve them more alcohol and pulled their ejection level decompressing the plane sucking 2 passengers out, drunken asshole was not strapped in and also fell to their death.... . Also not ejecting when you are tucked in and prepared is also bad. You can't get people to listen, practice and grab the flotation devices under their asses as seen in "Cactus 1549" proved ruclips.net/video/XfH-H2nNzeE/видео.html aka "The Miracle on The Hudson"
      Sad fact, the reason they gave pilots parachutes was because the training involved in pilots to fly a plane was far more "expensive/valuable" than the aircraft itself. Trained pilots that could fly a mission, return to base and land where they could reuse the plane and runway became a commodity(due to pilot & bomber crew losses) that was a higher cost for more than an aircraft's time & cost to replace from assembly time to flight line. WW1 pilots took their own parachutes and the first aerial "dog Fights" were pilots shooting at each other with their personal weapons. The military figured out the value of guns and bombs on planes but was a bit slow on that one. The first "bombers" were pilots throwing out grenades out of their scouting planes. Kinda makes you proud of the human race ability to evolve huh?

  • @hugostiglitz6914
    @hugostiglitz6914 4 года назад +3

    Firstly, the seabin can't distinguish between environmentally unfriendly items and things that float in the sea that should be there.
    The ejectable cabin aircraft is a non starter as well. Imagine the extra weight from having to design two independent primary structures?
    Also, whit if the problem is in the cabin area, like a depressurisation or cabin fire. Theres also the extra maintenance of the cabin release mechanism. It wouldn't be of any use in most accidents, like runway overshoot or flight into terrain. Just not feasible!

  • @elmeriseppinen
    @elmeriseppinen 4 года назад +20

    Triton was debunked a long ago (check Thunderf00t)
    Cora will most likely fail due to weight limits. More power needs more battery which means more load which needs more power. Electric planes are suitable for short and frequent flights, such as pilot training, but that's crazy expensive for taxi service. Where would you land anyway, when most of your customers are in cities, not in large open fields.
    Seabin is a essentially a pump, bit of pipe and a net. The retail price for the parts is about $100-200 depending on how fancy system you want to make. It's not worth $3825. Just saying.
    Moss in the wheels is a concept, not an actual plan. You get much better results just by either driving a bit less (we are talking about 100m/day or less. Moss doesn't capture significant amounts of CO2 compared to other forms of biomass) or by planting 1 tree. Actually you get pretty much the same effect by having the same amount of moss anywhere.
    Aircraft parachute... Does one even have to explain why it won't work? As you are traveling 800-900 km/h any parachute will just break off. And the "prototype" had rocket boosters burning the fuselage at the end. I mean, it will burn you to death, fall on you and crush you to death... There are many, many reasons why that's only short animations and no actual footage, prototypes or 3D models.

      @DL-kc8fc 4 года назад +2

      It is so. Triton - scam (insufficient gas volume and insufficient pressure to overcome water pressure at shallow depth). Cora is heavily dependent on batteries ... The vision of small aircraft for everyone has existed since the 1960s, but even then there was a problem with safety, storage, etc. The current advertising is once again targeting families who go for picnics or work, but this is not massively real, as it was not real in the last century, when very small aircraft with reliable internal combustion engines existed. Rich people can fulfill this dream because the price and strict restrictions for others will keep enough space in the sky for the rich and for short taxis. Security will not allow public boom, as it did in the last century. Pump, moss ... I agree. Parachutes ... It certainly occurred to anyone interested in the safety of air traffic. I thought of it as a little boy when there was no internet, and so many other people. The problem is that it's very expensive and airlines want to make money. They have well calculated that after a plane crash, they pay much less than by investing in such a project. The destroyed machine is covered by insurance unless a direct pilot error is proven. That's why you never saw it in real life. High speed parachutes have existed for a long time and can be fired in the order of return of a spacecraft capsule - stabilizing, braking and normal. Saving lives is worth a few grazes. The last parachute can be a so-called "mattress" that can be steered and can slip easily into a convenient place. It is really just about money, and the airline applying it will get a large clientele that will not mind the more expensive ticket.

      Even Thunderfoot missed the most worryingly absurd claims of the Triton in his debunking. He never worked through just how much surface area the oxygen exchangers in the Triton would need to even begin to do what is claimed. (Here's a hint, the human or mammalian lung is the most efficient use of such a membrane surface area known to man. We have no way of mechanically replicating it. Yet these clowns are claiming they have devices a fraction the size of a single lung that will do just that. Yeah, no.

    'Aircraft' definitely has potential, but would require significant buy-in from the major manufacturers. The concept of a ballistic parachute is not new and neither is a removable tube design. Cirius has made single engine (propeller) planes with a parachute that has saved countless lives. As airplanes are only making money when their flying, many airlines are working with the manufacturers to see if a interchangeable cabin was feasible. Imagine boarding a clean cabin 10 mins before takeoff and as soon as the jet arrives the swap of cabins would take no longer than the refuel and ground tasks.

Planes are so safe that to implement a measure like that would be more dangerous than safe because like every new tech it will have its faulty parts and sometimes the parachute will not open, sometimes it will go off by itself in an not appropriate location and the plane will die also because of the lack of landing gear gone with the cabin. A better collection design would be a large craft with floating arms that extend outward from the craft that skim the surface and sweep debris into a V shape that has a larger version of their machine at the bottom point of the V, with a mesh net bag, which is supported by cables that can be reeled in, cinched up, dropped onto a deck, into a hold, or onto a barge, then replaced with another bag.

    I really love the underwater breathing apparatus, Triton. CORA is pretty cool, too. All depends on price. How about including sourcing for these inventions, IT? How can we find out more?

    The underwater breathing piece was proven a scam a while ago. The surface area of the device is not nearly enough to attempt to filter enough air to breathe and the offshoots hid mini oxygen tanks that didn't even hold 15 minutes.

    I have been thinking that last part of airplane capsule a few years ago (My original thought was that the capsule will be top mounted). Apart from safety benefits in case of emergencies, it can also save a large amount of boarding, luggage handling, cleaning time while the airplane can do its refueling and other checking/preparing works. The downside is it could add more risk issues. So it needs a cost-benefit rethinking.

    The aircraft industry has shown for years, they only care about their profits not the passengers who have ZERO ability for rescue when the aircraft goes south!!! Sincerely Randy.

    The passenger taxi that looks like a car with a couch in it could work on the interior of a massive enclosed area. It would never work outdoors due to the hub over wheel design. Any type of precipitation or garbage, roadkill, rocks, potholes, frost heaves, etc would fuck that pretty mobile couch right up, right quick.

      I thought them saying 2020 was way to early. Even if they mass produce them, they would still need to figure out flight routes and safe heights and properly train people to run them. Not to mention all the new landing pads and areas they would need to make/ designate lol. I doubt they can just land in your driveway or on a busy street to drop you off like a actual car. If that video isnt a complete lie like Triton, it would really be neat to see it in action though!

  • @tonythedwvyer

    The Triton thing is complete bollocks. It's not possible to extract enough oxygen from water using ones lungs as a pump. That's absolute nonsense. At 10 mtrs the average person needs 50 ltrs of GAS a minute just to breathe! Where's that coming from?

    The passenger air bus that parachutes the passenger cabin to safety will never happen in commercial airlines.
    However, I can see it happening as a method of quick troop or equipment or supply deployment, or maybe a disposable, temporary surgical unit, lab, or shelter from the elements, by dropping into an area that has no landing strip.
    Maybe even manned by a small crew and dropped as a quick deploy floating medical rescue unit for multiple people in the water.
    It could use those gyro stabilizers for the surgeries.
    It could then be later retrieved, picked up or pulled in tow by standard water craft.
    Far more likely to happen if its a military contract.
