    I have 3 of your brush sets Lisa and I just wanted to say, the brushes and your tips and tutorials are so appreciated! Without the tutorials I’m not using the brushes or procreate to it’s fullest potential so bless you and please keep the “extra” tutes and tips coming…..they are so inspiring and really make me want to practice and just muck around more! Cheers!

      Aw!! Thank you so much! Your comment made my day!! I'm super happy you find the tutorials helpful!! My goal is to try and kick start your drawing process because I know when buying new brushes it takes a while before you fully "understand" what they can do. I'm definitely planning on doing more tuts in the near future 😊 Happy creating!

    Gahhhhh thanks sooo much Lisa! I was just going crazy trying to do the backing for a really complex watercolour painting, and selecting around it, inversing it, and filling the selection just wasn't working (too many little "bits" that escaped the selection leaving white pixels along the edge or other such shenanigans). Your method was so much faster and worked perfectly, thank youuuuu! ❤ Dana

    Lisa, I've tried this and followed step by step. All is well until the last step when I cut. My art disappears along with the background. Can you tell me what I may be doing wrong?

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  3 года назад +1

      Hi Mayra, You may have accidentally flattened all your layers and not left your "selection" layer to make the selection, or perhaps you are selecting the entire artwork before deleting the background, ie. you're choosing the artwork layer to make a selection instead of the black selection layer you created. It's a bit tricky to fully understand where you may have gone wrong without seeing your file or having more detail. You are more than welcome to send me an email of some screenshots or screen recording to help@lisaglanz.com so I can get a better idea of where you might be going wrong, I'd be happy to help further!

      @@Lisaglanz Thank you. I did it finally, but it wasn't straight forward. I don't know if I can duplicate what I did again. If I continue to have trouble, I will send you some screenshots. I'm normally pretty savvy with software, but I've always had issues with selections in Photoshop, so I'm not surprised :)

      It was also happening with me, i followed each n every step then whenever I tried to cut my colorful layer, it suddenly disappeared and i left with the black layer. Then after a number of tries, i figured the mistake. It happened when i tried to invert my black layer, the “color fill” option in that bar, was already previously selected, which was causing the problem in selecting the black layer. I just unselect the color fill option in the selection bar, and finally succeeded 😅

    Will this work with a completely flattened image? I am not having luck.

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  Год назад

      Hi Catherine, You will need the silhouette shape of your illustration, unfortunately once flattened with a background Procreate will see the entire area and not be able to create a selection from your isolated illustration. You'll need to etch out your illustration if you don't have a layered version. Hope that helps!

      Hi Klaudia, Thank you so much for your purchase, it's much appreciated! So glad you are enjoying them! I usually use the Chiffon Canvas because I particularly like the subtle paper texture of that canvas. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    I am new at trying to have my watercolors printed. Rather than the one sharp image you have hear, I have alot of background glazes, tiny spatters etc...yet I need to eliminate the actual "white" unpainted paper so that my notecards don't have a square edge of a background from the photo...I hope that makes sense? I have photoshop elements. Any help much appreciated!!

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  Год назад +1

      Hi Cindy, I haven't tried this method in Adobe Photoshop or Elements, but I'm assuming the same method would apply if you created the watercolour paintings in layers in Elements. If however you are working with a scan of your painting, then unfortunately I only know of the laborious method of creating an etch path or removing the background with the eraser tool. It's a method I used when I prepared my traditional watercolour paintings to sell. It's tedious! But gets the job done.

    • @cindybaird9589

    you don't show well how you merge the layers. I did not select the black version but it merged with all the layers. Now I can't undo this

    • @Lisaglanz
      @Lisaglanz  2 года назад

      Hi Chrystèle, you should be able to undo any error you made in Procreate. The great feature about Procreate is it has many undo's! It's also very important to make a copy of your original drawing, you always want to keep the layered version as your original and only flattened a duplicate. If you made an error and can't undo for any reason, you can then go ahead and make a new duplicate of your original to start again. If you don't want to use your fingers to pinch the layers together to merge, you can also select them all at once by swiping right on all of the ones you want to select, then Group them, then flatten the Group. Hope that helps!

      You can follow the same steps I used in Procreate. Your artwork of course needs to be on a separate layer so that you can create the selection as shown in the video.
