Locomotive Engineers over here in America do it all the time, even at High Speeds and also amazing Channel. I've been following you for a year and you still impresse me to this day.
Moleman, I know my post is a little bit late and I don't know if you're ever going to read it. But what I want to say is: I'm a Belgian traindriver, and yes: in Belgium we wave at each other when we pass each other. Even at 160 km/h or 100 mph (that's the maximum linespeed in Belgium for normal trains without cab signaling) we wave at each other. But at that speed we can't recognise the other driver, all we see is the silhouette of his face and the movement of his hand when he waves. But even when it's dark, for example at night or in a tunnel, we put on our cab light so we can see each other when we wave.
Everything has to be replaced someday...When it comed time for the maglev to be replaced, scary but awesome times will be coming! The trains of the year 2100-who knows where we will end up!
The HSTs are still doing a fantastic job. They are in full working order and have hardly had any problems, so there isn't a real reason to replace them, apart from them being old.
Thanks to you, I know that the first 3/2/whatever numbers tell you the class of the train. The trains that go past in my town are Class 142, 156 and EWS, Freightliner and the new one I can never remember (Class 66)
Yes, train drivers on HS1 wave, so I'm sure other slower drivers do as well. You can do driver experience days with SouthEastern and ride the cab of a 395, which is when I noticed it.
to be fair, the hst will probably be in service with east midlands trains, for at least another 10 years, due to the lack of electrification of the midland mainline, Derby, for example.
I hope the guys who made Grand Central take other Govia subsidiaries (Southern, Southeastern,...) as they have the best customer satisfaction in the country I think.
7:27 Although I'm gonna miss the HST (one of the last loco hauled passenger trains in the UK), the artwork for the 800 and 801s look pretty good! I even found a free GWR reskin for the 801! You should do an HST and Intercity 225 mega Gala! 9:56 It would be pretty cool if you replaced the class 43s with a GWR steam loco, but kept the Mark III coaches! 16:00 Other than the HST you're driving, my other favorite HST liveries are the BR blue, the NRM 40th, Network Rail, Virgin Trains' Hornby, East Midlands, and your 10,000 sub one! 21:38 the interior just became worse! 22:35 the Original Shinkansen sets lasted until 2008, and the 300 class Shinkansens from 1992 were all gone in 2012! Some 500 series Shinkansens are still in service! 23:00 you missed a great screen shot opportunity! 28:00 you didn't zoom in on the name! 1:01:25 i was surprised to see those lights come on (they look really well done!)!
1. I will also miss the HST, however the Class 68s are really making a shoe for themselves as passenger locos so that style won't go anywhere any time soon! (I may do some sort of gala like that one day) 2. I could try but I don't know if the couplings will be very kind to me :P 3. Nice choices! 4. Old train didn't really have a need for high quality interiors, PC's weren't as powerful back then ;) 5. They are indeed still in service just not on the top link services they used to be, that is now done by the 700s. 6. Well nevermind :P 7. The station is so rarely used, it doesn't have any signs whatsoever, not even a single one displaying the name. 8. It did indeed look very nice :)
Well it didn't click that it would be a 'night time' scenario, I only found that out when the screen popped up xD (Technically it was an early morning scenario anyway) :P
The "least used" station is Pilning. And by the way when you mentioned the Shinkansen I think what you meant was the series 300 being withdrawn, not series 500.
I am a big fan of the trains (especially suburban and local ones) in Japan. The railway is just a part of everyone's life there. Many of the Japanese trains also look much better than the British ones, and they are really varied across the country.
Imagine a super HST set. Like the super 47 but as a set and all the coaches have the same weight physics. Also, I would like to see the class 158 as well.
Is there a way I can get this reskin of the HST? Because I really want it... because I actually live next to a Great Western Railway museum and I've actually seen these things in real life… Is there a way I can get this? Because I've had train simulator for a long time
The GWR HST in this video comes with the South Wales Coastal route, you can also buy Armstrong Powerhouse's HST MTU Enhancement Pack, if you have all the requirements.
hey moleman i hav been watching all of your videos they are great can you say how to change the language from russian to english and which version this is ?
It comes as part of the South Wales Coastal route, which is due to be part of TS2017 soon, if you don't have it, and want to get the route, TS17 will be the cheapest way to do it.
You can find key mapping info in the manuals for each product, go to ...steamlibrary\common ailworks\manuals in your steam folder (or something like that) and read up! :)
I asked in the video whether people would want to see the 158 or the 143 first as the next South Wales video, I guess I'll note you down as a 158 supporter :P
No they don't, they have Paxman VP185 Engines. Wikipedia quotes from the Class 43 page, 'HSTs 43084 and 43123 were the final operational Paxman Valenta power cars' and 'Today there is not one production power car remaining that is still fitted with a Paxman Valenta engine, although the 125 Group's Project Miller have reinstalled a Paxman Valenta in the surviving prototype powercar, 41001 (formerly 43000).'
Moleman978 somehow I feel that was obvious, but I'm not sure how, if only there was a collection of videos where you fail just to see how true it is (please make a video having a collection of fails, don't need to do all speeding because that will be probably 24 hours long, please, I need my banter humour injection.)
Not without a proper route to play it on, and there would be a lot of backlash from the community saying 'another electrostar?' etc. I would certainly love to see it one day :)
+Moleman978 If they would make a very high quality class 376 without the original 375 sounds and cab and some bugs, it would be good. We wouldn't be happy if another 377 was released, but we would be happy for a 376. If they could also make the lines to cannon street and also lines to lewisham and those areas for a price less than 29.99 € that would be great.. As always, i and the community would be happy if they put more time and effort to the dlc and have less dlc released. And also i would not care if the next gen ts would release in 2020. That would be better than to have a buggy unfinished game.
BHReskins made a reskin of the Class 378 into the Class 376. facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=889938581052404&set=oa.515760421890353&type=3&theater (You need the Class 378 locomotive for it to work.) (Not the one from the North London Line.)
How do you know its cheaper? And anyway if the 801s are more expensive is it not worth having new trains that are reliable and built by proven professionals? All I'm saying is Class 465s break down a lot more than Class 395s, and Class 465s fitted with Hitachi motors fail a lot less than ones that don't. :P
+Moleman978 Because when they did it to the Class 421, they just put a new body on it and kept the engine. It was very cheap, cheaper than the Electrostar and Desiro. The only problem was that they didn't want the Networker Classic.
Well don't forget efficiency, sticking an old diesel engine into a new body might not be cheaper in the long run. Also what's the point of electrification if all you're gonna do is re-body old stock, making old tech dual power would be more expensive overall.
Well maybe the reason they won't do it is the same reason they didn't do the classic. Personally I am happy with whatever happens to the railways (as long as we still have one) :P
Locomotive Engineers over here in America do it all the time, even at High Speeds and also amazing Channel. I've been following you for a year and you still impresse me to this day.
Thank you very much! :)
You're welcome and keep up the awesome work, one day I'll be able to probably meet you.
Moleman, I know my post is a little bit late and I don't know if you're ever going to read it. I love the GWR ( my favourite of the big 4). The restored HST is 253 001 and there is a model from the old HST in BR with 253 TOPS numbering.
GWR livery looks brilliant on the HST
Doesn't it just. Modern yet a throwback to the history of the railway :)
Indeed
is the name great western railway sticking. someone please tell me. thank you
Yep, this livery/brand is going nowhere.
I like the Australian one
Everything has to be replaced someday...When it comed time for the maglev to be replaced, scary but awesome times will be coming! The trains of the year 2100-who knows where we will end up!
The HSTs are still doing a fantastic job. They are in full working order and have hardly had any problems, so there isn't a real reason to replace them, apart from them being old.
I always love how the routes you play can be boring and slow sometimes, but I know it's gonna be entertaining because of you. Keep up the great videos
I wouldn't class the routes as boring but thank you nonetheless! :)
Great video as always! I vote for the 158 for the next one. I really wish you could do a live stream on twitch soon! That would be awesome!
I just love this updated HST with the new coach sounds. Just a shame there is no two tone :/
(With the default sounds)
A fun drive and video. Thanks for the entertainment while I work!
Thanks to you, I know that the first 3/2/whatever numbers tell you the class of the train. The trains that go past in my town are Class 142, 156 and EWS, Freightliner and the new one I can never remember (Class 66)

Wanna know a weird thing... I saw a Green GWR hst in Cardiff on Tuesday....
Guess what!
I don’t live in the Uk 👍
I've literally never heard anyone say 'Indeed' so many times in my life.
Great video, though! Indeed, you have a new subscriber!
Thank you! :)
Indeed, there we go, there we go, indeed, there we go, indeed ... but there we go. :)
@@Moleman978 good idea for the best hst ever west Berkshire high to Cardiff
Nice video..... I love the HST.... I think the station that only has one train stop every Saturday is called pilning. Nice video though 👍👍
Good vid. Lovely to see the HST living for 40 years! A lot! Australia has HST's but there not HST's. There XPT's but they look the same.
Yes they are very similar aren't they, I find it interesting :)
PEOPLE DONT WANT HOUSES NEAR RAILWAY LINES. IF IT WAS ME I WOULD SPEND A HECK MORE TIME IN THE GARDEN
to be fair, the hst will probably be in service with east midlands trains, for at least another 10 years, due to the lack of electrification of the midland mainline, Derby, for example.
Very true, I would also like to see a HST in the Chiltern livery as that route isn't electrified at all, I can only hope :)
I hope the guys who made Grand Central take other Govia subsidiaries (Southern, Southeastern,...) as they have the best customer satisfaction in the country I think.
That's because of the route and stock they run, not the management.
Another Arriva run TOC is CrossCountry, and that is the worst franchise.
That is only your opinion and not fact. It's hard to say who is the worst, XC aren't great but you could argue that GTR are worse.
Hey Moleman, another great video. After a hard day its good to have these videos to watch.
Thank you very much! Glad you are enjoying them :)
Reddish South station in the Stockport area only has one train every Friday morning, in one direction.
The least used station is Pilning - Severn Beach station is slightly nearer to Pilning village and has a regular service
Thanks for reminding me :)
I love intro before class 66 2 horns
Great video on trains mate I like watching your videos 😊👍
I'm literally crying listening to you 😂😂👍
Nice video Moleman, I really like the new GWR colours.
Thanks! Yeah it is a stylish livery indeed.
I think you predicted the future at 9:15 😂
I think the 158 will be good to do :)
Yep 158!
Well when GWR dies, GWR Studios (a YT channel) should change his name lol. And also, there IS an Dutch train driver which records his journeys lol!
the class 143,but you should do and LBSCR E2/E4 Extended side tanks engine from Brighton to London.
A great animated simulation of a lovely re painted HST class 43, returned to GWR with a big W. a new look to come?
my faverote train in the world is the 43! is your favote train in the the clas 43?
Also I want to ride a HST before they are retired, but I like the 800/801 Class EMUs/DMUs
16:00 Other than the HST you're driving, my other favorite HST liveries are the BR blue, the NRM 40th, Network Rail, Virgin Trains' Hornby, East Midlands, and your 10,000 sub one!

the station that has only one train in each direction a week is called Pilning.
facts about the 7 tunnel its 4 miles long, 4 mins and 24 seconds and its called the 7 tunnel because its under the river 7
I remember driving this route, wow
im watching your video on cristmas eve 2016!
'Why I avoid nightime scenarios'
1 week later:
Does a nightime scenario!
Lol
Well it didn't click that it would be a 'night time' scenario, I only found that out when the screen popped up xD (Technically it was an early morning scenario anyway) :P
Typical Moleman video. Giving the driver a concussion
i am not a train driver but i did have a cab ride in a HST and the driver did wave to the driver of a HST going the other way.
The "least used" station is Pilning. And by the way when you mentioned the Shinkansen I think what you meant was the series 300 being withdrawn, not series 500.

A Super HST would indeed be awesome, would speed up my 0812 service to St Pancras at least xD
That least used station is called Pilning, think i stopped there once also i'd rather 158 because it's a sprinter not a pacer and it looks better
Gotta get that nodding donkey!
is there a route from the south (e.g. poole) to London Waterloo
Yep... But it has very little detail (from the last time I used it).
+Matthew Avery oh yeah well it is quite long
+The Pendolino: Rising Up what do you mean
exploding sun
When you say I still need t behind a HST, I Just imagine you running behind a HST. XD
Oh dear, that would be funny sight indeed xD

Great photos
i live next to a railline in Belgium. i can see all day at trains ;-)
Happy 40th hst
You have got a new subscriber
Great job.
+moleman978 a timeless penalty is a good thing, hence why you get points from it.
No, Timeliness Bonus is when you get full points, a timeliness penalty is when you're late and you don't get the full amount of points you could've.
+Moleman978 oh ok I get it, see I was always thinking that you just didn't see the green couler and the plus symbol
Moleman978 I played that route as Well I got a gold star
Brads gaming. Rail
I live in Newport and I've never seen a GWR HST train I only see FGW HST's
Drive the Class 143.
great video moleman. keep up the great work. btw do you also stream on twitch like Mattpeddlesden?
Thanks! I have streamed occasionally in the past however I don't have the time to do anything regular at present.
I have just done this scenario in lowest settings...time for a change of scenery!!
+Moleman978 Could you do Denver and Rio Grande Western narrow gauge? Please? That would be awesome!
+Moleman978 Great video with the HST
Thanks :)
could you drive the 143 please? ive never seen someone drive it before, and i like the older style cab and 2 car configuration.
I would actually like to see the class 70 next but that isn't helpful at the moment so I think the class 143 would be best.
I will cover them all in due course, just want to do another Arriva video before I dive into the 70 :)
I know you guys know but gar means great western railway
hey moleman i hav been watching all of your videos they are great can you say how to change the language from russian to english and which version this is ?
Imagine a push pull train in GWR livery :O, I wish...
Is this the Blue Rail Studios GWR HST reskin or the BHReskins facebook page GWR HST reskin?
This GWR HST comes with the South Wales Coastal route, no reskins required.
Moleman978 Oh ok, i might get the route soon then.
Where did you get this Reskin ?
It comes as part of the South Wales Coastal route, which is due to be part of TS2017 soon, if you don't have it, and want to get the route, TS17 will be the cheapest way to do it.
Ok, thanks for the advice :)
I find it ironic that i was driving 43091 in Trainz 2006 while watching this
I mean 43021
Great video indeed
what keys do you press on the keyboard to turn the cab light on and the headlights on? and you should do the sprinter next
You can find key mapping info in the manuals for each product, go to ...steamlibrary\common
ailworks\manuals in your steam folder (or something like that) and read up! :)
ok then thanks, good vid btw
where do i get the south whales coastal?
relly... masive speed?
is this train simulator 2016
I love the new GWR class 43s I been on the real one four times
+Moleman978 Awesome video by the way!
Moleman978 will you be doing the Arriva class 158 at all anytime soon??
I asked in the video whether people would want to see the 158 or the 143 first as the next South Wales video, I guess I'll note you down as a 158 supporter :P
Aw ok Thank you
11:53 East Midlands Trains HST's have valenta engines still!
+Moleman978 Ohh yes. I get mixed up between the Valenta and the VP185. It's still a Paxman engine either way.
The station that has no name is called Pilning
where did you get the GWR repaint
It comes with the South Wales Coastal route.
Do you have the AP Class 43 MTU & Mk3 coach sound packs?
Yes, both feature in this video and are linked in the description.
You say people at Manchester with super 47's
Let me Guess it's its you and gamer 75
And this is a trailer for the next Mole75
Actually its a reference to the last Mole75 video ;)
There 3 Aspect signals Between Bristol TM and Bristol Parkway
Welsh banter!
Thingy madoobee flip lol
I love you mole man
Hayley Griffiths And I love you, random commenter!
(Megamind reference for the win)
Moleman978 thanks moleman
2 years old today
Can you do a 158 on the next south wales coastal
Please do a hst video completely in passenger perspective
Great video!
Thank you! :)
I've been on this route only to Cardiff though
Moleman. I am sorry to announce that the 66 in your intro will never be a thing as the last one ever to be built is owned by GBRf and is 66779.
I know but, we can dream can't we? :P
+Moleman978 "indeed(moleman978 dates unknown)"
it's Harvey good video + moleman978
You knew that 75 limit was coming, you even made mention of it, the AWS is there for a reason. Don't lie
It's called a joke.
It's more the fact that I am busy talking, and me noticing something does not mean I will remember it after more than a short while :P
Moleman978 somehow I feel that was obvious, but I'm not sure how, if only there was a collection of videos where you fail just to see how true it is (please make a video having a collection of fails, don't need to do all speeding because that will be probably 24 hours long, please, I need my banter humour injection.)
Moleman978 I understand!
+Moleman978 what a typical moleman XD
Class 158 :3
Can you do a video on Western Mainlines on JustTrains
Not sure at the moment, even after the update to it I can't run for more then 70 miles without the game crashing.
can u do a scenario with a north folk southern loco. its the one that comes with the ga,e
game
Plz drive the sprinter class 158
Shouldn't Dovetail add a class 376 southeastern
Not without a proper route to play it on, and there would be a lot of backlash from the community saying 'another electrostar?' etc. I would certainly love to see it one day :)
bescause there fuckers
+Moleman978 If they would make a very high quality class 376 without the original 375 sounds and cab and some bugs, it would be good. +Moleman978 is this 11,000 subscriber special?
They need to electrify the route for the 800
Why don't the HST operators just do the Networker Classic idea for the HST? It's cheaper than the 801s and they can do the same for the 91s.
+Moleman978 True, but I still think that the Networker Classic idea had a point, and so does the 'new' Vivarail Class 230.
Well maybe the reason they won't do it is the same reason they didn't do the classic. Personally I am happy with whatever happens to the railways (as long as we still have one) :P
I vote for class 158 because I love the new arriva trains wales on the 158
