I'm heading to Malaysia for a month tomorrow and have been following some of your videos. You guys make great, informative content. I have a small channel of my own with a similar style, but watching yours shows me that I have a lot to learn!

Greaaaat video! Thank you for sharing your awesome experience in Borneo. I see that you recommend renting rubber boots for the jungle walks. Do you think leech socks are also required for the walks? Or maybe long pants and rubber boots are sufficient to keep them away? Thanks again.

Thanks for watching! We didn't have leech socks and most people didn't. I did get a leech, but it ended up on my belly somehow (must have stuck on my pants and crawled up under my long sleeve rain jacket). You'll definitely need to wear long pants, long socks that you might want to tuck your pants into, and a long shirt. We would also recommend loose long pants as the mosquitoes are pretty brutal. Some girls had leggings and they just sting through that

Loooove your content!! Do you have any advices for diseases to look out for? Like Dengue or Malaria? Did you take meds (malarone) for Malaria prevention?

Thanks! We didn’t take anything for malaria. They told us there’s no malaria in that region anymore so no need. There’s dengue, we never had it though. We’d just recommend having lots of bug repellent (with high deet) to prevent a lot of mosquito bites. We also wore long loose pants and long sleeves because the bugs in the area are really vicious, especially when you walk into the jungle.

Nice video, I was just curious how much was the 3 day safari?

    • @worldwildhearts

We paid about 230 USD per person, which included accommodation in the shared dorm room (4 pers room). The private rooms are more expensive!

Nice. You spot the smallest elephant in world! More than 90% are in Sabah, the rest is in Indonesia part of Borneo. Sadly we loss our last rhino in 2019😢

That's sad to hear... the elephant population in Sabah is declining as well.. so are the orangutans
