I was listening to this a long time ago, when I was meeting the love of my life. So many lyrics back then told me the ending of our story. And years passed by but heart never forgets what was really true. Some things cannot be faked.
To any other suicide orphans out there, you aren't alone. This has been the hardest anniversary yet. At 21 I still needed a mother, 15 years later I still do. Figuring out life on your own with no one to turn to for advice really. I don't blame her though. She suffered a lot of abuse and had a spouse die of suicide in her arms. I think she saw me as stronger than her and didn't want to be a burden on me.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom one year ago today 😢. She was 87. She had a long life but it was still very hard to say goodbye. Peace to you my friend.
I am a grown man, with a beautiful, wonderul wife and the best son I could ever imagine, but everytime I listen to this song, I started to cry. When I think about my little babyboy or his mother, that anything could go wrong and they could've gone, I just can't handle it. Everytime my throat is stuck and I can't sing a word. What an emotional song it is... I can't imagine someone could wrote something that would be more emotional.
Because this music actually makes you feel some of the pain Sharon den Adel felt when she had a miscarriage, which is why this song exists. So beautiful, yet so tragic.
this song hurts a lot, especially when you've been someone with severe depression and had suicidal thoughts before. It makes you wonder about all the people who passed you by, and which ones weren't as fortunate to make it through. Even if i I still have mental health problems, I cant help but feel I need to keep going, there's so many people who don't get that chance, their emotions take them too soon and it isn't even their fault....
i feel that far too keenly. its one of the major reasons i havnt done more then minor self harm. dont want to hurt her. and yes, i'm getting help. but its a very slow process.

The good and the bad are what make up life. The world would be a horrible place if there was only yang, and no yin. If there was nothing but joy, we wouldn’t work for change. The good is, well, good, but there needs to be bad to show who we are.
This song is great, but it only truly becomes memorable when you understand that the lyrics imply more than just betrayal; the singer (not Sharon, the fictional person the song is about) forgives a person they love for //dying//. The lyrics "Why not me before you, why did fate deceive me?" proves this. What's cool is that this is so emotional like that, and this is only the promotional song for the album XD
I always feel that it's the story of a mother who's son/daughter committed suicide. *"Couldn't save you from the start" & "I tried to shield you from the world"* (Stating her protectiveness and that she was there since the beginning). *"You couldn't face the freedom on your own"* (He/she was grown up and alone in the real world and couldn't withstand it). *"You gave up the fight, you left me behind" & "You were looking for the great escape to chase you demons away"* (It's telling us what happened and that she understands why). *"You'll always be mine, I know deep inside"* (Is a way of self-consolation). These line are repeated on various occasions, is like she's trying to convince herself and move one, but she just can't. *"Can you forgive me for trying again" & "Your silence makes me hold my breath" & "Still the sun can't warm my face"*. She says that she knows why he/she did it and that she forgives, but she doesn't completely as she keeps repeating that he/she left her behind and left her in silence (alone). She just can't move on and is looking for a way to do it.. The song is both beautiful and heartbreaking. It is truly one of my favorites and a masterpiece!!
The parent child makes since, but for me, by the time I was a teen I tried to protect my mom from people who would hurt and take advantage of her. She started suffering from psychosis when I was about 13, or at least that's when I started noticing. It was just me and her so I became the parent.

That reminds of my ex best friend. We were inseparable. She had problems with her father,he used to beat here. I was always there for her,trying to make her feel better,but when she got free...when she moved with her boyfriend...it didn't last long and she chose a path with no turning back.
