The caravans with lodges attached to them are probably vacations homes of Norwegians. If this is close to the border it's almost guaranteed. They are a crazy lot. And Sweden has historically been cheaper for them to spend time in. Both winter and summer.

The sliding around in the van looked like fun, probably the ultimate skid pan. Sweden, not your usual driving experience with roads or scenery.
