Indigenous peoples have lots of stories and lore. Most of it burned or destroyed by the Europeans.

Word. Im caribbean indigenous we are very mixed now and a lot of us died when Columbus first came of but I have 20% Taino DNA and I’m extremely proud of that when I see stuff like this about indigenous populations I get emotional because I wish there were stories like this for my ancestors but I love watching these and I have a lot of love and admiration for indigenous communities that were harmed by colonization to me even tho they are across the world they are my brothers. I know it sounds stupid but we have a connections in pain. I hate that everything is black and white now. European and African. It leaves indigenous people to be forgotten as if we don’t exist. Like in this new woke world if you are Latino you are white or black. If I tell people I’m indigenous they don’t care they still put me in one of the groups instead of allowing me to claim my own identity. It’s like they don’t want us to exist

I am Qibiro Ano. We are from what is now north to central present day Florida. Our language is considered a dead language. Most people here don't even think we exist. My ancestors stood up to the Spanish and were enslaved and sent to Cuba. It took us hundreds of years to get back home. I am learning my language still in my early 40s. I am writing a children's chapter now. It is about a son and mother. I have plans for more works too. I am healing little by little. You sharing your stories about you and family and such are Taino stories. Be yourself and be patient with yourself. You have a voice and inspired me by just reading your post. It tells me I am not alone. Ituquachimanistala (I thank you.)

I get what the critics mean because in Maori culture they really do value their ancestors and their spiritual side

I think his point is that there's a box indigenous people get put in that's puts us as those "spiritual, connected with nature" people, which isn't always true, and people who aren't indigenous can also be very spiritual and connected to their ancestors and nature. Look at modern people who follow Wicca, or different European Pagan ways, for example.

@@dracunculusmedinensis8210 That may be true of groups, but are you saying you don't know any *individual* indigenous people who don't value their ancestors? I know a lot, but then, I know a lot of indigenous individuals :)

jojo rabbit is set in nazi germany, who affected jewish people the most. if you do your research you'd find out taika waititi is also of jewish decent. if you think jojo rabbit is just about germans you need to rethink your priorities
