Recipe
Basil Gimlet
2oz (60ml) Gin
1oz (30ml) Lime Juice
1/2oz (15ml) Simple Syrup
6 Basil Leaves
You're an absolute content machine at the minute!! I love Basil in cocktails , superb
I made this after seeing this video, and it's a really good drink. I have a sweet tooth, so I used 22.5 ml of rich simple syrup instead of 15 ml of simple syrup, and I think that was a good choice for me, even if it's not the original recipe.
Agreed. It needs at least 3/4 oz of simple to feel balanced to me and a full ounce for my wife and others who aren’t fans of tart drinks.
I also don’t muddle, given how much the ice ends up shredding the basil.
Leandro the basil smash is a massive fave so I know I am going to LOVE this beauty! I haven't had a basil gimlet! You rock! I bet my good friend TIM will love this cocktail as well!! Lol! Happy Sunday!! Cheers!! 🙂P.S. I adore Junipero Gin!! I have never been able to find it locally but I do buy some when I am in the U.S.!!
Lendro, this is an excellent cocktail, basil is so tasty.
I love the basil smash, so l'll definitely try this too.
Except for it’s not Basil season for much of the north right now it sounds freaking awesome
For real, all my Basil plants just died.
i clicked cus this reminded me of a signature cocktail at my last bar but it had half the gin and instead had a 20 ml triple sec 30 ml mastiha liquer and u smash cucumber aswell , its actually so amazing and the cucumber peel garnish look quite good
Quick and simple 🎉 Baam Baam
What’s the difference between this cocktail and a gin basil smash? Just the lemon for lime? Just a lil more simple Sirup? I’m confused 😅
I was thinking the same thing, i looked into it and basically the same thing, but the basil smash uses lemon and a bit more simple syrup
I am working my home bar tools. You simple syrup is in thar cool glass bottle. What kind of bottle is that?
Is that a coupe? Or a Nick & Nora?
Nick & Nora, coupes are flatter
This is just literally a Basil Smash...
The basil smash uses lemon juice, it’s basically a tom collins with muddled basil.
You’re right on the smash though, the basil gimlet is normally a basil syrup (with lime juice, not lemon)
@@JasonPttBasil doesn't make the best syrup because of oxidation and how basil flavor changes when cooked. It's one of a few things on my "do not syrup" list
@@kimisjustokayyeah, both mint and basil.
Every cocktail you have heard of is just another iteration of a popular classic..
If you're going to call a green drink "perfectly balance" you should rename it as a Thanos smash.
Just in time for all my Basil plants to have died.
