So, as I said in the video I was not going to record this then thought I would as it just might help someone out so here it is. I did check with my Mechanic friend on doing this just for peace of mind as it was only the first thread or two that need re-threading as once the nut is passed this point then they sit and hold just fine, plus i replaced the nuts too and he said it would be fine. So all is OK but you can if you prefer replace the whole hub.
The Mondeo nuts are made of cheese mate. Nice upload tho mate never thought of taping them just always bought a new hub as they are fairly cheap. With some new nuts.👍👍
Chazz Coombes was about to say haven’t you changed a couple of hubs due to bearings first thing I did when got old ones off was to knock out the studs just incase😊

thank you I had exactly the same problems my hub was stocked.
That is a good repair. No problem with that.
Chazz, when you showed us the die it looked like you could use a socket and ratchet after you got it started.
Unfortunatly nope.

Yeap thats what i was gonna do till i had a chat with my mate and he said first thread or 2 should be fine and to replace the nuts to.
Thank's for sharing chazz been a great help 👍
Cheers, thats the idea behind the vids to try and help abit
@@ChazzCoombes just to let you no chazz i have just bought a set
@@joeazzopard8472 of the tap and die set?
@@ChazzCoombes yes mate
@@joeazzopard8472 cool, its one of those tool kits you get may not get much use but its there when you need it.
This helped me thanks 🤘🏾
Nice little video bro i may invest in a tap and die set but as said to you wont get much use out of it like you on to the next
Well on the one occasion it STILL would pay for itself.
Die nuts are an alternative of course. Turn with a spanner. Bit of an expense though
Cheers for the info, will take a look at those. Cheers
What's the cause of this? Can it caused by putting them back on using a machine incorrectly?
Some time its the case the garage "loses" the actually nut and force an "incorrect" nut with a power tool, thus damaging the thread!
Knock stud out n replace chazz
Yeah after i done this and putting the vid together i see a video on doing that. Might give it a try.
