Daughter and family moved to Vancouver Island. (We’re Aussie). She loves it so much, kids love it, husband is back on home ground, everyone is happy. So much so I’m planning a trip June/July 2024.
Thank you for 2 of your Vancouver and Victoria videos. It definitely will help us what to expect and where to explore. Thank you for all your tips and tours. Deeply appreciate.
Cool town and area. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly. We came across from Port Angeles and stayed in Saanichton near The Butchart Gardens. Along the “inner” Bay Area heading West from the Parliament building there are nice restaurants and breweries. The old brick/stone buildings added a lot to the character. Craigdarrock & Hatley Castle are a must for anyone with the time available. Old China town was cool as so was the little Italian area. Lots of outside parks and hiking area’s, very pleasant and people are very friendly.
Victoria is my favourite Canadian city with amazing walking trails, beautiful neighbourhoods, amazing architecture and terrific food scene. The City's population is about 90,000. The Greater Victoria Area is about 500,000.
Hey 👋; thanks for visiting Victoria, I’ve lived here for 35 years now. I came from Quebec City originally. I like your observation about the fun fact that The Empress Hotel here in Victoria May look of the same era as The Banff Springs Hotel, or all of the Major Hotels built by The Canadian Pacific Railroad Co.along the East to West Corridor… They sure did a good job for Canada 🇨🇦! Cheers 🍻 Marc Gagnon
Hey Island Hopper, This has to be one of my favourite videos. You bring life into the narration of your video, and for that, I have already subscribed. I'll be taking a trip to Vancouver Island in May. Have you ever been up to Campbell River?
If you have time Beacon Hill Park is very nice to walk through. Very close to where you are. I live here and love it. Government st is an interesting walk. So nice to see my town though your lens.
This has to be the most beautiful city in canada. I wish I could live here so badly if it wasn't for the rent.. I'm almost ready to sell everything and move into a boat just to wake up here every morning.
Drug addiction, homelessness, crime and unaffordable housing are still very real here. Sadly alot of these problems are overlooked because vsncoucer and Victoria are both very beautiful cities. Kelowna is my personal favorite in BC, but not as historic.
@@aaronkamakaze2967 so what---those "problems" are in just about every great city. But maybe that's just the American in me talking accepting that there'll always be an ugly side to cities.
@@Lizard1582 most major first world cities don’t have a DTES “downtown east side”. . An open air drug market, open drug use, rampant fentanyl overdose issues etc. only a few cities in the US and Canada have these problems and they are mostly on the west coast. And Philadelphia on the east coast. Not to mention the extreme unaffordable housing crises that is crippling all of Canada’s middle class but is especially bad in BC and in particular Vancouver where an average home is well over 1.2 million. These are problems that sadly have gone unaddressed for the last decade or so and are starting to bubble over. And I say this as someone who loves Vancouver and has family there but sadly had to move due to a lot of these issues. There’s plenty of great cities around the world that don’t have these problems to this extent.
I need to check out this city and more of the rest of the province when I go back to British Columbia. I only had time to check out Vancouver the first time I went there.
Mika Ericson 0 seconds ago there is no high speed ferry from Vancouver to Victoria, the vessel pictured in vid shut down in 2020 after less than to years operation and has been sitting in the harbour for sale since then
I have watched another of your offerings about Vancouver, Not bad,at least you arent a giggling girl with a vocabulary of a four year old. However, as a frequent visitor from the UK who adores Van and Victoria I would ask one thing, please do some research, so many interesting places and facts completely ignored
Make your own videos then. Your watching a tourist film their experience and just talking to the audience. This isn't an educational channel or a tour guide. Just a random tourist wandering around talking to his audience after a few beers.
Yeah.. you can get Bonnie Henry to show you all the homeless people on Pandora st And all the closed store fronts used as a make shift toilets and injection sites... On main streets down town ..
Here is our Vancouver British Columbia travel guide! ruclips.net/video/9MhudWM0v_g/видео.html

I have been to Victoria numerous times. It is a beautiful city ,can not wait to go back.
It’s amazing to see that wherever the British have put their hands throughout the world ended up becoming great places to live.
Not some places, mostly west not east.
Broke the spirit of the original people throughout the commonwealth, all indigenous people where they dominated were
Deeply harmed.
Good afternoon Jeff, greetings from Orlando Florida, awesome video, thank you for sharing, have a blessed day.

Glad to see you in Canada 🇨🇦 and yes you said Saskatchewan correctly . I'm over in regina
Well that’s good to hear I got the pronunciation correct. How do you like it over there?
@@IslandHopperTV it's not bad here in Regina I think around 300,000 people. Very much a farming province. Saskatoon has more of a bigger city vibe.
Nice!
Victoria has become quite the concrete jungle. Used to be so green…
Nice. I recently took a trip to Vancouver and it was amazing. I have a video up on my channel too. Great work!

Ever been to San Francisco? It's VERY historic.
I'm sorry I just heard you say it's cold
pratically the Sun is never seen, it's always cloudy . at least 2-3 days a year if he will see?
The people have jackets on is it cold there in June
You missed the 900 block of Pandora as well as the growing number of businesses leaving the downtown core due to rising levels of violent crime
China town is a must
